I’m from the IE, and I’m considering on buying a home out in Simi Valley. The housing prices and insane home inflations plus mortgage rates are comical atm so I understand.

Questions I have is what’s the average monthly water and power bill?
And how much is the fire insurance on a monthly and annual basis?

I’m trying to find what’s the average of these two factors so I can add it to my mortgage in how much I can truly afford a home. Thank you for your cooperation.

UPDATE: Home I’m considering buying is 4-5 bedroom with 2-3 baths, maybe pool or maybe not.

Downvote me if you choose, but I think the Tenders & Fries from Regal Cinema are legitimately great. I didn't even watch a movie today! I ordered them and ate outside at the Civic Center Plaza.

We are planning to buy an over-the-range microwave today, but it looks like the store may not have installation available this week. We'd prefer to get it installed sooner, though. Can anyone recommend a good installation service?

Ive been going to CVS on alamo, but after many poor customer service experiences I’m looking to switch.

Good open hours are the most important thing to me, if somewhere has two pharmacists instead of one a day that’d be fantastic. Also if the pharmacy clerks work fast thats a huuuggeee plus, (i know customer service is hard, i do it too) some clerks really are twiddling their thumbs.

Not too worried about getting vaccines or specialty care.

Anyone ever hear what happened with those kids at Regal who attacked the black young man? Just curious...

The ground squirrels have turned my side yard into a freaking minefield. Holes everywhere.

I refuse to use poisons due to numerous cats and more than a few dogs that come through our area.

I am considering getting a C02 system at this point.

Has anyone figured out a way to get rid of these pests?

My boyfriend and I are currently long distance. He is in Virginia and I am in Oregon. In the next year or so we’re looking to no longer be long distance. We’ve been looking at the Simi Valley area ish… (I say ish bc it doesn’t have to be simi valley exactly but no more than an hour from it) to move to. He is potentially relocating with his job to this area and we have visited once before and really enjoyed Simi Valley a lot.

I know California is just expensive…so we definitely don’t want to be in LA lol but what are the surrounding cities in Simi Valley like for a young couple, no kids, active like?

We went in April and the weather was amazing. And everyone always says great things about Cali weather of course. I guess I’m just inquiring about what day to day life is like - what areas are cost effective? Safe?

The good, the bad, and the things you wish you knew before moving there. Any neighborhoods or areas you’d recommend (or avoid)? I’d really appreciate any honest experiences from locals or people who have moved there recently.

"A person was killed and five others were injured after a Tesla crashed at an Urbane Cafe in Simi Valley on Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The crash was reported at about 2:30 p.m. near Tierra Rejada Road and Madera Road in a busy shopping center.

Aerial footage from AIR7 showed the aftermath of when the white Tesla crashed into the outdoor seating area of the restaurant.

The Ventura County Fire Department said one person died and five others suffered minor injuries.

Long shot but it can’t hurt to ask. I’ve got several rolls of clear PLA that I’m not going to use, still sealed. Anyone interested is trading color filaments? Different colors? Different types?

Alright Simi Dads, I messed up and my kid is mad at my now (kinda sorta kidding but not). My daughter can’t stop talking about your kid and wanting to have a playdate with her but we didn’t exchange numbers. This probably won’t work but I need to try.

Not to trauma dump, but I have suddenly found myself being a relative's full-time caretaker in Camarillo. My sister lives in Simi and we want to get tattoos together. I can get someone to stay with my relative during that time, but the closer I am the better. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I’m trying to memorize the exits from east to west (I’m pretty new to living here), and I want to make some sort of pneumonic device. Trying to come up with something funny and memorable. The more ridiculous the better.
