I hope the fireworks aren’t cancelled. I’m going to wait it out under the gazebo in front of the Monster Mansion.

First time visitor help

Hello all! I’ll be visiting for the first time in July 6th and I have questions that I couldn’t find on their website.

  1. I’m a season pass holder (my home park is Carowinds) and I saw last month pass holders can get into the park early and ride certain rides. Is that still true for July? I didn’t see it on the pass perks.

  2. Which rides should I hit first? Meaning what rides typically have longer wait times? It’s a Monday so I won’t expect things to be too crazy but I definitely want to try to hit rides that have slower operations first

  3. Do all the rollercoaster have bins where I can put my small bag? Or does six flags use a locker system?

Thanks! I’ve never been to a six flags park before so this is all kind of new to me.

When will the next ride be announced?

I don’t care if its a 2027 or 2028 attraction, but I NEED an announcement. Kid flash closing, Gold Rusher getting delayed another year, no full new coasters since Twisted Cyclone in 2018, and before that DARE DEVIL DIVE???? No wonder evertime I come here the park is pretty empty. This park needs investments YESTERDAY. It is the 2nd ever six flags park for fuck sake. Anyways thats my rant, hope to hear good news soon!

Parts of [Kid Flash] track and supports spotted on I-85 north

Based on its exact location, it appears to have been taken on I-85 North in Norcross, GA, appearing to be passing Exit 101 near Indian Trail-Lilburn Rd. It looks to have been dismantled way too carefully for it too be scrapped

First visit in a long time

Hey y'all, I used to be a season pass holder eons ago before life got in the way. I haven't been in over a decade, I don't think. But to my delight, my daughter is a roller coaster lover like me. I'm planning on taking her in the next couple weeks. I went on their website to check ticket prices and see so many things that were not a thing back when I was a regular. The meal passes, fast passes, and what is this gold membership? I am overstimulated.

I'm hoping to get some advice on what's worth the money. This will most likely be our only trip for a while, and it's my daughter's first, so I want to get as much enjoyment out of our time and money as possible. I used to just go with the clothes on my back and $5, but I'm an old now, and comfort is worth the money to me at this point. I don't want to be dumb about it, though.

I plan to visit on a Wednesday, that was always my favorite day in terms of low crowds. Is a fast pass worth it? We will 100% be riding every single coaster. We'll be there when the gates open, and wouldn't be surprised if we stay until they kick us out. Does a meal plan make sense for an all day visit? One thing definitely worth the money to me - parking. Is there a smart way to go about getting close-ish parking?

Any and all tips for bang vs. buck is appreciated. Thank you!

Public transit

I'm going to be in the area for work but got a couple of extra days off in between and the park is literally on the other side of the city from where I'm staying. I really don't want to pay for an Uber or a Lyft. I'm looking at public transit options and got some questions. How reliable is it? How much should I expect to pay? How close to the park could I get? I could maybe do 1.5 days. Any must ride suggestions as well as food would be appreciated.

Prestige pass

Going to six flags-Ga and I was thinking about getting the prestige pass. Mostly for the close parking and 2 free friend passes.

Does anyone know if the VIP lounge has complimentary snacks & drinks? Taking an 11yo and 12 yo, so this would make the prestige pass worth it to keep them hydrated.

If not I’ll just get the silver season pass and keeps cold drinks/snacks in the car.

[Funspot Atlanta] closing rumors

Does anyone have any inside info on this? Seeing a rumor floating around that Funspot Atlanta is closing for a tax write off. I would usually write it off as total BS, but after that Ka shit, I have trust issues

Trip Report 6/27

Made the journey to SFOG today, headed back home now! Wanted to share the good, the meh, & the ugly in case it helps anyone in the future.

We bought Premium All Day Dining Passes & a Fast Lane Reserve Pass for me, as my wife doesn't ride coasters. Easier for me to just jump in, ride, then rejoin her.

The Good:

  • Goliath is a PHENOMENAL coaster. Easily in the top 3 I've rode in my life of the ~10 parks I've been to. Smooth, fast, & thrilling. Absolutely worth the trip for this one alone if you're into coasters.
  • Monster Mansion was cute, Batman was intense, & Superman is such a fun ride all-around.
  • The Fast Lane Reserve system worked well for the most part. Pretty much everywhere but Superman- I'd go from the entrance to sitting on a train in less than 10 minutes, often less than 3 minutes.
  • Vibes were great overall- had some good conversations with people in line & the park in general seems to be better taken care of than I remember it being ~5 years ago when I last came.

The Meh:

  • Early opening info I got from multiple Reddit threads was bad/outdated. They DO start letting people into the park at 10:30, but only season pass holders can ride any rides. Not sure how recent that change is, but it was an unexpected slow start to the day. But to be fair, their posted open time is 11:00, so not too torn up about this one.
  • The food quality left a lot to be desired. My home park is Dollywood, so maybe I'm just spoiled by their cinnamon bread. But the only thing we ate all day we could rate above a 4/10 is the pizza from Primo's and some Dip n Dots. Lowlight of the day was a pretzel we got that could be described more as leather than bread.
  • The ride wait times in the app are super inaccurate. Was rare for the app to report anything north of 15 minutes, but the filled lines were very clearly longer than 15 minutes.
  • Cashier at our first food stop didn't understand that the all day dining pass came with a drink. Wound up being a confusing ~5 minute transaction of her trying to sell us an additional drink.

The Ugly:

  • The rides are unreliable. Throughout the day, I personally saw Blue Hawk, The Riddler, & Daredevil Dive go down (I actually got stuck on Daredevil Dive, but it was only ~10 minutes thankfully). Goldrusher & Scorcher never opened at all. I know there a few other rides on delay/closed in the app, but can't remember which they were for sure.
  • Back to Daredevil Dive- I used a Fast Lane reservation for this which had an hour countdown. When it got to 3 minutes, the ride went down, so I had to cancel it. When it came online later in the day, I re-did my reservation, waited, & then wound up stuck on it for a bit. 1/10 ride experience all things considered, especially since the ride itself was very underwhelming compared to literally every other coaster I made it to today.
  • Ride operations at Superman are in absolute shambles. The superman fast lane wait was just short of an hour (standing in line, not the time until reservation was ready), in comparison to my 2-10 minutes for every other ride. They completely ignored the fast lane most of the time. I didn't count, but I'd estimate they were sending 10-15 trains of normal line groups before they'd let one fast lane group through. This caused a massive back-up of people in the fast lane line. Also, when they finally DID let the 2nd group through in the ~40 minutes I was standing near enough the front to see, all of the gates opened & people ~20 or so behind me swarmed through & the employees didn't care. Just shut the gate when I was 3rd from the front & I continued to wait there for ~15 minutes before they acknowledged that line's existence again. Not sure if the app is grossly mishandling the amount of fast lane reservations available at any given time or if the staff is the problem here. But something REALLY needs to change for that ride.

Overall, 7/10 day. The (working) coasters were great & we didn't run into any truly major issues. But there were definitely multiple things that could have been notably better.

SFOG NEW ROLLERCOASTER CONSTRUCTION

saw this blue crane in the queue of thunder river. Also saw dirt making a perimeter from the top of Goliath on the parking lot near the old go-karts . I think a new coaster for 2028 In typical Six flags fashion they might announce it for 27 for anniversary but that’s a stretch Let me know in the comments what yall think or know

are season passes a one time payment?

I’m looking into getting a Silver Pass (mainly because of the included parking perk) and can’t figure out if the passes are a one time payment, or some kind of recurring charge. Any help?

Also, are Bring-a-Friend tickets easy to use and worth it?

Do season passes include parking?

Looking into getting the Silver Season Pass and can’t tell definitively if the pass includes free parking. The wording on the website is confusing and I don’t want to purchase until I am 100% certain!
