I don't think there's any direct line between Mandy and Skinny Puppy, but they share some genes. I didn't get on the SP Bandwagon until Last Rights, so I only listened to Rabies retrospectively. But even then, I remember thinking it sounded way less like SP than Vivisect or Cleanse, Fold. Obviously, Al Jourgenson had a big influence on the sound, but I'm just curious what SP fans from before Rabies thought when it came out. I could easily see people saying they sold out and were trying to be an industrial-metal band from tracks like Tin Omen, Fascist Jock Itch, or even Rodent. I had something of this impression when Front Line Assembly put out Millennium.
I knew about the Fascist Jock Itch story, but never heard of this until Patriarchy shared it yesterday. What was the story in Saskatoon?!
Some of Abhora’s drag reminds me of Ogre from Skinny Puppy, especially the stilts.

Measures 24" x 24". Acquired as a bonus from my purchase of the CD on launch day. It's been in storage for years and I didnt get a decent frame until recently. I'm surprised at its condition when I unrolled it!
Just picked it up today from someone on Facebook market, didn’t have a chance to listen to it though. I’m still very happy that I get to own this record on wax. If an official one ever comes out I’m buying that too.
