People who use or have used 2 singles to make 1 wide king bed

Husband and I are looking into getting 2 singles to be pushed together as 1 wide king. I've looked through the subreddit and there are older posts that have some comments about this but I wanted to hear more recent opinions. To preface, my husband is quite tall and moves around a lot when he sleeps which is why the width of 2 singles is being considered.

Did you both like it? Did you end up returning or going with a King mattress or go even smaller? Did you use the gap filler? Did you use a mattress topper? Thank you in advance!

Edit: I was under the impression a Japan single was 97cm in width and a Japanese king was 180cm in width so therefore two singles would be wider at 194cm! I’ve been using ワイドキング when looking for bed frames.

But thank you everyone for your feedback so far! This has been really helpful. Really conscious that bringing up a large mattress can be a faff for the delivery.

ComfortNext Ultra vs Climate360

My spouse and I plan on going into the store to try the mattress, but until then can anyone who has experience with these mattresses tell me which is the better option? He sleeps hot and I fluctuate because of blasted hormones. We also want the adjustable base which we can get with either. I have also researched 8 Sleep (over 5k with an additional subscription cost), Orion (over 3k with an additional subscription cost), and Chillipad (over 3k and an additional cost for adjustable base) but wasn't crazy about all of the negative reviews and issues with performance. If I am going to spend thousands of dollars, does it just make sense to get one bed that does everything I need it to? Any suggestions, guidance, or lived experience is greatly appreciated.

Debating between the ClimateCool & Climate360

So husband and I have decided to purchase a sleep number bed. We’ve been looking at the ClimateCool but I wonder if I’ll regret it and should go with the Climate360. The main reason I want the ClimateCool is because I get hot at night (I do sleep with a weighted blanket and I know that contributes to it but I’m so use to it now that I hate sleeping without it) and I think that will help me. My husband doesn’t care about the heating or cooling. His feet get hot at night and so even the cooling might be nice for him. We did go to the store just to feel it and see if we even like it. The heating was nice but didn’t convince me otherwise. I do feel it would be nice in the winter months to have the heating to warm up the bed beforehand and then turn it off shortly after, but I wonder if I could just set a heating pad and use that instead and save the thousands of dollars difference. So is there anything I’m missing that would convince us to upgrade to the Climate360 or nah, we’re good and stick with our original ClimateCool.
EDIT- we live in the Midwest

Sleep Number Biggest Sale of the Year is LIVE: Free Delivery this week only (ends 8/24)

The Biggest Sale of the Year just kicked off and the core mattress/base discounts are locked in through September 14, but there’s a short window this week you don’t want to miss.

Through August 24 only:

Free Doorstep Delivery ($150 value) on any mattress
Free Premium Delivery ($250 value) on any Climate Collection bed

After the 24th the free delivery disappears and standard rates kick back in, so if you’re ready to pull the trigger this is the sweet spot.

Current discount snapshot (all good through 9/14):

  • Climate360 / ClimateCool → 20% off
  • ComfortNext Ultra / Lux / ComfortNext → 25% off
  • ComfortMode / ComfortMode Lux → 10% off
  • FlexFit 2 & 3 bases → 20% off
  • Other bases (Adjustable, Foundation, Bunkie) → 10% off
  • 5% additional savings coupons CAN stack

Plus the usual financing tiers are available (including a new 6-month deferred option with no minimum). I’ve personally helped dozens upon dozens of Redditors lock in the absolute best price and the most efficient delivery window on these sales. Happy to answer questions, compare models, or walk you through the current stacking options if you’re deciding between Climate vs ComfortNext, etc.

Drop a comment or DM if you'd like my help, I aim to make this as easy as possible! Don’t sleep on the free delivery this week, it ends Monday 8/24!

Wondering if I should invest in a sleep topper

I don’t know if I’m just imagining things, or if I’m trying to find an excuse to buy something. I’ve just installed the new air chambers, and both are set to 100. Does it look like there’s a dip on the side that has the small pillow?

Sleep number owner for almost 5 years, and I regret it.

I bought my bed 11/21, but I’ve been having issues with it deflating at night for at least 3 years. I was so afraid of being quoted a high price that I knew that I couldn’t afford, so I just name do. I was using the website fixmysleepnumberbed.com, and it was working great, until 2 days ago. I just got up after not being able to fall asleep because the bed was constantly trying to inflate. I checked the number, and it was at 20, and I keep it set at 100. I got up and pulled everything apart, and this was not my first time doing so either. This was the first time that I saw the beginning of holes forming from wear to the canvas right next to the seam. The canvas wear is so visible, that the pump cant keep up with inflating it. I’ve been dealing with the issue for over 2 years, and I don’t know what I could have done to prevent the issue. I use there mattress pad, and the bed is always made up until I go to bed at night.
i just received a quote for a replacement chambers, and it’s not too bad. Google claims that the average lifespan of sleep number beds is 10-15 years, so it has me wondering what happened to mine. Could mine have been faulty from the beginning.

moving with a sleep number bed

probably a dumb question, but was wondering if i absolutely have to keep my sleep number bed inflated to move it? i'm moving 1200 miles in one car and don't think it'd even fit inflated, but it's a king c2 smart bed with the split sides. wasn't sure if anyone had experience moving with it deflated before, but when i've researched it, some people say you'll never get your bed back together if you don't do it the right way with the aircaps and stuff. don't see why i couldn't just roll it up really carefully and secure it in bags, but that's why i'm here! thanks so much for any suggestions :)

Looking for a better app. The standard sleep number app isn’t keeping up with a small air chamber leak

I do have a small leak and overnight my mattress gets so soft is unbearable. The stock app isn’t checking and adjusting air pressure often enough … and maybe not at all. If I sit on the bed and when I first lay down it usually adjusts then, but overnight I need to open the app and tell it to adjust to my fave.

I’m pretty sure I read about third party apps that do a much better job of regulating more often - often enough to keep up with a small leak if needed.

Does anyone have any info on this?
I’m not sure if the bed model but it’s a split King with dual controls and we have iPhones.

Thank you all.

19-month-old SN mattress leaking

Bought a 'C2' for a disabled family member, Full/Double size, she lives out of state. Delivered/installed 12/24.

She related to me last month it no longer holds air, I suspect either leaking bladder or pump issue. She called 'customer service', a 'tech' was sent out, (no charge "courtesy") he used different pump to inflate and left.

She was informed that a 'repair' would cost around $500; she is on SSI, any replacement parts would have NO warranty... this bed has been in use for only NINETEEN MONTHS.

Appalled to learn the warranty is now only ONE year. Our household has had two SN beds for the past 20 years, no issues.

As I live out of state, impossible for me to diagnose the exact issue or correct it. Extremely disappointed with this situation, as I bought her this bed based upon our experience, and the fact that she has chronic pain due to old spinal injury.

Any suggested remedies besides more $?

Zero choice data privacy

Do not buy a sleep number bed in my opinion given the mandatory agreement to share your sleep data and metrics with them to enable app functionality. A product, especially premium, shouldn’t force users to give up their personal data about their use to enable basic features.

Do not purchase a sleep number bed. I highly suggest potential shoppers look to other brands or solutions given this recent mandatory opt in.

Updated Terms

Looks like Sleep Number has updated their terms. Unfortunately, you have to click and agree to both terms in order to use the app now. I’m not a fan of the first one “agree to share”. BUT, you can’t use the app without it. Tried just clicking the second one, and tried logging out. Won’t let me get past this screen and to the app functions 😡

Comfort lux ultra flex fit base

So I have an i10 and a flexfit 3 base. They work together today. I recently bought a comfort lux ultra and really like it. We got a really great deal. I really like that bed more than the i10. Wondering if it’s possible to reprogram the flexfit base to the new bed? The current pump has a usb drive in the pump. Is it as easy as adding a new MAC address or something?

Share data

I don’t want to share my data and now I can’t log in, until I do share my data. Stop using sleep number beds they just want to force you to share data w them. Sleep number ap logged me out and won’t let me log back unless I accept their new terms, with the promise not to sell my data. (Edited for more context)

Connection Issues?

I have a P5 split king with a Flex Fit 2 base. I use the occupancy sensors to trigger automations in Home Assistant, but lately the bed loses its connection to my wifi constantly. It's actually disconnected more than it's connected. I've tried power cycling it, reconnecting it, and rebooted my wifi, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone had the same issue and found a way to resolve the issue with connectivity?
