Walther PPK in SE:Resistance?

Hey all - I’m playing through SE:4 and am loving the Walther PPK dlc gun, especially when using silent ammo with the silencer. Does SE: Resistance have the gun in the game? I’m getting conflicting results when searching. Thanks so much.

N00b's opinion: Sniper Elite Resistance.

Hi peeps,

Firstly, as stated in the title, I'm a Sniper Elite n00b.

For context, I only just purchased (And completed) Sniper Elite 4 this month. And now I've just started playing S.E.R , so this is only my 2nd SE game.

I really enjoyed playing Sniper Elite 4 on my Xbox Series X. The controls felt fantastic, the graphics were good (Despite being last Gen). The story was a bit boring, but overall I had a jolly time.

Then I switched to playing Sniper Elite Resistance, and, oh dear!

Firstly the positives, the graphics are great IMO. There weapons are customizable which adds longevity, and I appreciate that you don't have to press the Right trigger button to tag every enemy now.

Now the negatives.

The game seems extra hard. Now for reference I'm a n00b, so I just played it on the default normal mode (Marksman I think it's called) and I died several times on the first mission 😆 Their aim seems extra good compared to SE4. (I know peeps on here can probably beat the game on Authentic mode with their eyes closed, but I find a bit hard for normal mode at least).

When downing an enemy with my rifle, the computer enemies hang around for AGES 'investigating' . Sometimes I feel they have wall hacks and know exactly where my character is - despite never firing a followup second shot and being nowhere near me when I fired the initial shot. Now admittedly, on SE4 I used a suppressed rifle, the delisle carbine. So maybe it was my stealthy approach which helped me so much in SE4

Running: I hate having to press down on the left thumb stick to sprint, it aggravates my tendonitis.

No more rock to throw as a distraction, just a whistle to use? I want to coax enemies away from my location, not bring them to me! Especially since I'm always low on ammo. WTF!!

Booby trapped an enemy. It gets tired REALLY fast trying to booby-trap an enemy, only for the notification to disappear at the worst time. Then you end up 'whistling' by accident and drawing more enemies to your location.

Customization of weapons. Yes it's good in theory and I appreciate this. But it never explains what to do or encourages you to upgrade your weapon. Yes I know the upgrades are more or less self-explanatory, but it should still offer a small guide.

Player invasion: I love this aspect of the game. HOWEVER, it appears everyone who invades my games appear to be seasoned and hardened veterans 😑 Yes I know I can switch the mode off, which I do when I want to progress in tricky bits of the campaign.

Voice actors. I played the 2nd level, where you meet the 'French resistance' and OMG, it was like listening to caricatures 🫤 There's no way they were native French speakers. Their accents reminded me of that 1980's BBC sitcom 'Allo Allo' (Good Moaning 🤭).

So anyway, my opinion is a bit tongue and cheek. But I feel on balance SE4 is a superior game in all aspects.

Peace.

Can’t find Hitler.

I’ve been on Wolf Mountain for two hours and a third of that was spent searching for Hitler. When I first arrived to the house, I got in and subdued any guards in my way so there wouldn’t be any massive searches if a body was found. I then went about my merry way booby trapping anything that could be booby trapped and noticed something: I hadn’t found Hitler yet. So, I scoured the whole house, his office, the bedrooms, the panic room, the dining room, kitchen, basement level, everything, and found no trace of him. So, I figured I’d just check the tea house since it’s a secondary location that I’ve taken him out multiples times at. I then snuck back out of the house undetected (which is somehow harder than getting in) and went to the tea house but guess what: he wasn’t there either. I then made up my mind to kill every living organism that so munched as breathed wrong and ended up clearing the entire map searching for him (minus vehicle patrols) but I still haven’t found him. What happened and what do I do to fix it?

Aim Assist not working

Does anyone experience this on Sniper Elite 4 ? the diamond aim assist going down when I use it. I notice it when using a gun with higher zoom and after the upgrade of my zoom using the Carcano rifle. Not sure if this is normal tried also standing up still this happens frequently on different maps.

Vercors Vendetta Authentic zero kill zero detection.

Off the back of a post by u/t7Saitama, I wanted to see if this mission could be done full ghost, zero kills from the default starting location. Any time I can encourage interest in stealth, I have to go for it. Plus it was fun to exit semi-retirement. 😅

As usual I’m only doing primary objectives and avoiding the kill target.

Nebelwerfers: I used a decoy on a timer to clear the two soldiers that hover around the Nebelwerfer. Then it’s as easy as placing the satchel and relocating. I ended up reusing the same decoy three times. Twice for the nebels, and a third time to sneak past a couple of gasmask wearing engineers in the trenches near the Kleine Blume Stockpile. I probably would have used it a fourth time but one of the engineers kept it.

Kleine Blume Stockpile: For this you’ll need bottles, fortunately there’s a bunch right outside the entrance. You’ll need to lure each of the two engineers out from the stockpile area. Luckily it seems like they might be missing the programming to return to their starting point, so if you can throw enough bottle to get them outside, they will just stay there staring into the void. Once you’ve set the charge, take the immediate right and climb up behind the sniper, ensuring to crawl so that the second sniper in that area doesn’t spot you.

Fun, if a little annoying that some areas that look traversable are not.

Throwing mines??

I read you can throw mines, is this true? I’ve played last ten years on pc and don’t know how to do this. Can anyone explain how to do this?

why can’t we punch or do any combat in close quarters?

though with the latest game sniper elite: resistance they would have changed something, anything hut nope.

getting dead when a guard walks by as i’m behind cover cause i can’t do a takedown is lame. having to get ready a gun when he is 1 cm from me is so silly.

hope in the next game they add something.

No, you're not fooling anyone!

To new players (and some not so new); when invading someone, please; stop walking around, trying to blend in with the AI. You really do stick out like a sore thumb to any half decent Karl/Harry. It's no sport to kill invaders walking around like zombies. :)

Got invaded around a dozen times by the walking dead this evening alone. STOP IT!

Which games are actually worth playing?

Just picked up the bundle on steam (1-5 including the remaster of 2)
Which of the earlier games are actually worth playing? I’m definitely playing 4 and 5, but are 1-3 actually „playable“? I’ve seen some gameplay of 1 and it looks like…. Well like it’s made in 2005, maybe a bit outdated.

Target, you're a loser

Love playing this guy. Such a sore loser. Not the first time either, I've beaten him a few times under various player profiles and he just can't fucking handle it.

He thinks I'm a noob because I've reset my profile again, hilarious how that lulls these guys into thinking I've got no clue. Nothing like an "inexperienced" 15:1 who doesn't know Secret Weapons, hey mate?

If you wanna play as a dedicated invader, there's nothing quite like resetting and playing a little bit of campaign to bump up the score to something believable, like 9:1 or 15:1. It creates a false impression in Karl's over confident mind, makes him think you've not completed most of the missions. Don't stay as a 1:1, it's not convincing. I'm always super wary of a 1:1 invader, and I'm usually right to be so.

Rage quitting when you're down gives me the best laugh, love it. Loser! His name is Target, and he's got a big one on his back. Look forward to seeing you again soon, Target... ;)

Are you supposed to have a trench gun as an invader?

I don’t 100% know, but I thought you were supposed to get a trench gun as an invader. I don’t have one.
