Target, you're a loser

Love playing this guy. Such a sore loser. Not the first time either, I've beaten him a few times under various player profiles and he just can't fucking handle it.

He thinks I'm a noob because I've reset my profile again, hilarious how that lulls these guys into thinking I've got no clue. Nothing like an "inexperienced" 15:1 who doesn't know Secret Weapons, hey mate?

If you wanna play as a dedicated invader, there's nothing quite like resetting and playing a little bit of campaign to bump up the score to something believable, like 9:1 or 15:1. It creates a false impression in Karl's over confident mind, makes him think you've not completed most of the missions. Don't stay as a 1:1, it's not convincing. I'm always super wary of a 1:1 invader, and I'm usually right to be so.

Rage quitting when you're down gives me the best laugh, love it. Loser! His name is Target, and he's got a big one on his back. Look forward to seeing you again soon, Target... ;)

What is the longest possible SE5 Authentic Invader / Karl kill?

Sorry, title is misleading. Meant to say what's your longest.

This one is 495m, was hoping to break the 500 but just short.

Who's gone longer? What map and positions, and what distance? In Resistance I got one on Fort Rouge from the highest sniper nest to the start point, that was 700ish I think, but with the M1903 and 10x scope (the 700 might need checking). In Vercors Vendetta you can definitely achieve a 600m+.

Always satisfying pulling off these shots without the assists. The Mauser carbine has a really good balance of power, stability, recoil and reload speed so you can spot your shots and quickly adjust.

We're watching the screenplay, live, in real time

I've followed Lewis Hamilton since his Formula Renault days when we watched him win at Thruxton. I've always said to my boys, who were babies when Hamilton won his first championship at Interlagos, Boys, that man is destined to live a life that you couldn't make up in a movie script.

Even in 2008 his story was too remarkable to feel true. Just take a moment to think about everything that's happened since then. (Don't even bother trying to convince me they would have come up with the KK storyline. They wouldn't have.)

I've come here to say this. Sir Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton is about to write the most remarkable chapter yet, a story of redemption and glory that will make even the hardest of cynics weep. It's his destiny. It's always been his destiny.

As a sports fan you can just feel it, you can sense he's back. Wolff can sense it. Antonelli can sense it. Russell can taste it. Le Clerc certainly knows it. The rest can see it clearly. Lewis Hamilton is coming to claim what's his and there's nothing they're gonna be able to do about it. The man is a superpower, irrepressible.

6th December.

A tip for new SE5 invaders

Righto all you new invader recruits. You want to play SE5 PvP as the Invader but you're put off by all this talk of Karl being a knob with his setup maps, traps everywhere, infernal Focus with its wall hack and direction indicator, him having way more replenishable health etc etc. Hardly surprising, he's a pain in the arse. Here's two top tips to give you a helping hand.

Firstly, go to the shooting range workbench and add items to your loadout. You can carry up to four explosives if you decide not to carry health. I carry a grenade, two Tellers and a TNT. Don't be shy to try and blow the bastard up. The best way is to trap a phone ahead of where you think he's going to go next. Use a grenade and add the rest of the explosives somewhere directly adjacent - if the phone is on a wall and you can get behind it, right there is a good spot. Hide them well - don't be a dick and put them in plain view right under the phone.

Karl is going to try and blow you up, so damn well return the favour. Do not spread your explosives around because they won't kill Karl. He'll just use a bandage or two and carry on, having observed your location thanks to the tag that's conveniently appeared above your head. Use of all your explosives in one hit for a guaranteed kill and keep a close lookout for some of his to defuse and use against him.

Secondly - and this is a biggie - unlock the Machine Pist.44. The first mass produced, militarily successful semi-auto select fire assault rifle. This is your secret weapon. Strive as hard as you can to get to 30 Invasion kills to unlock it for Invader use. Achieve all the attachment unlock requirements by finding the workbenches in Campaign mode, particularly the SMG Control Package (Secret Weapons under the Masterdome) and ZF4 S scope (can't remember which one that is). Once you've got all the attachments, setup the weapon for the lowest Aim Stability / best Spread Accuracy values you can. (Don't focus on maximising power.)

You should be able to achieve an Aim Stability value of 11cm. This is vital to minimise scope wobble.

Once you've done all this, you have a very effective glint free sniper rifle. If you setup the MP44 the same way as Karl in campaign mode, you can practice shooting heads in a variety of situations to get comfortable with it - I highly recommend doing this before you take on Karl as Invader.

Trust me on this - 95% of the time Karl is looking for glint. In this video he's used the Focus direction indicator to see that I've gone around to the south behind him, and he's backing himself to see glint and get behind cover before I can take a shot. But I'm concealed in grass and been watching him in scope for a while, just waiting for him to make the mistake so many do - going into Binoculars view whilst exposed. That's your chance - keep an eye on the bullet drop indicator for precise holdover and do your thing. Burst that arrogant American melon!

Viel Glück, Verteidiger des Reiches!

Terrible run of games

TLDR: Invasion is turning into a joke game of invader vs assholes

Sat down for a session of Invasion. Selected East and West Europe servers. Games 1 & 2, noob 3:1s, Atlantic Wall, both killed in first exchange of fire with NPCs, games were over in less than a minute. OK, whatever, that's normal.

Game 3. Against two long-time players, high Prestige MPs, I know them both and what they’re like. Atlantic Wall, SE Hard. The host stays put while his mate leaves and rejoins 5 times. I know what he’s doing, he’s bringing in extra traps. Yup, I see them building a minefield around the mansion with the officer & safe, near the church. I refuse to play ball, so the one starts spamming the phone while the other hunts me with Focus, following me around the map, laying traps as he goes. We do a full circle and I find more kill traps on paths I’ve already cleared. I reset some and he hits them twice, but survives both and runs back to get more health. Then he hits another trap combo and still doesn't fucking die, he's incapacitated and the twat does the quit and rejoin thing again. Fuck that. I quit.

Game 4. Another Atlantic Wall noob, or maybe not, he might have been a veteran who’s reset back to 3:1. This dickweed camps inside the top level of the radar array for 25 minutes. Minefield in the tunnel, a couple laid in the corners so the defuse option doesn't work. And more around the opposite entrance near the alarm. There’s enough room in the array to walk off camping alerts without taking the zipline. He never shows himself. I'm already cheesed off from the previous idiots. Fuck that. I quit.

Game 5. What the hell, another co-op on Atlantic Wall. Getting sick of this. Sharpshooter Medium, a 40:20 and 40:18. They immediately use the phone, they’re under the radar array or in the battery. I scoot around the south of the map and through town tagging the NPCs and set a 2x Teller, 1xTNT and 1x phone grenade in the AA Gun nearest the church, then go to the Marcel house. I can tell from the way the NPCs are alerting and being killed they’re using the Focus direction indicator to zero in on my position, one from the North the other from the East. I scoot through the town all the way back to the radar. And…. They follow me using the Focus direction indicator. I go back through the trenches and sprint to the centre of the map. I’m tagged twice. I lay low in the church and the one player uses the phone in the AA gun. All those traps explode click click click and somehow he survives…………… what the actual fuck. He’s incapacitated so I sprint to the area bayonet fixed and see him running off towards the East, and I pull off a miracle shot on the run and kill him. Whereupon his mate instantly quits the game.

At this point I turned off the console. 1 hour 40 minutes of assholes. Just couldn’t be bothered. Cracked a cold one, put on some tunes and skinned up.

SE5/R PvP has been fun but this is where the game is at now. There are days when I will try and defeat these pricks playing such lame as setup games, today wasn’t one of them.

u/Rebellion_Games, you guys really need to work out how to stop experienced players gaming the system like this, its gonna kill SE6 real quick if you leave it the way it is now. As invader, unless he’s on authentic, I’m not competing against the Allied Sniper’s skill, map knowledge, wits and tactics, I’m competing against the mechanics. And FFS you need to fix this business of leaving and rejoining with more goodies, that’s pathetic.

A legendary weapon, the M.Pist.44 (StG 44) Sturmgewehr was the first true assault rifle to be issued into widespread wartime service. With selective fire and an intermediate power 7.92×33mm cartridge, it introduced a new range of battlefield capability. Though ultimately on the losing side, it significantly influenced the Soviet AK47 and remains the OG battle rifle, with an unmistakable influence on all modern battle rifles that followed.

In our favorite game, it is a very deadly "glint free" option for medium range single shot snipes, with the option of double-tap torso shots or going full auto in an instant. To be fair, it wasn't used with a scope to any great effect in WW2, they tried but it didn't work out. So we'll ignore that minor detail, and enjoy Sniper Elite 5's generous historical interpretations.

Set it up for the minimum aim stability value of 11cm and make that headshot count.
