I made an ambient/electronica jam inspired by early-2000s electronica, combining rhythmic textures, glitchy beats, and environmental sounds like birdsong and wind.

This was created using four hardware instruments: Bastl Instruments KASTLE DRUM, Torso S-4, SONICWARE LIVEN EVOKE, and Elektron Digitakt.

The idea started when I stumbled upon an unexpectedly immersive groove while experimenting with the KASTLE DRUM through the Torso S-4.

From there, I used the SONICWARE LIVEN EVOKE to create the melodies, chords, sequenced phrases, and bass parts, then added rhythm tracks with the Digitakt to bring everything together.

It came on Saturday, and what can I say, very nice. My first Sonicware box and I'm very pleased, both with the sound and usability. Very well thought out, easy to grasp, very logical and lots of fun. Got all the staple 808/909 sounds on board and then some. Haven't touched the sampling yet.

There's a few flaws here and there and one or two bugs, hopefully to be ironed out with updates. There's already an update released on the 17th, so they'll probably offer more shortly. USB works flawlessly for sample transfer, update, and as audio/midi interface. Device shows up as USB storage or class compliant interface, which means you can use any device and OS. Did update and recording on phone, very practical as you don't even need a PC or Mac.

Here's a quick jam from last night, Electro-Acid-something, riding on one pattern using variations and mutes. That was a blast to do, very jammable!
