SSD

Obrigado.

Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54-71KM SSD upgrade compatibility (Crucial T500 / PCIe Gen4 question)

Hello everyone!

I’m thinking about upgrading my Nitro with a new SSD, but I still have some doubts regarding compatibility and whether this is the right purchase.

I’ve been doing some research about SSDs lately — things like TLC, QLC, NAND, DRAM, and everything that comes with buying PC components. However, I’m still a bit unsure about possible compatibility issues, especially considering how expensive these parts currently are.

Laptop specs:

\- Intel i7-11800H

\- 32 GB RAM

\- RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU

\- Current SSD: Samsung NVMe 512 GB (OEM)

SSD I’m considering:

\- M.2 2280

\- NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4

\- TLC NAND

\- DRAM cache

\- Up to 7300/6800 MB/s

\- Model: Crucial T500 1TB (CT1000T500SSD8)

I considered other SSD options, but ended up discarding them either because of the price or because they used QLC memory. I would have preferred a 2TB drive, but I couldn’t find one that seemed worth it within my budget.

My idea is to install this SSD in a (supposed) second M.2 slot, although I honestly don’t know if this laptop actually has one, what PCIe generation it would be, or if there could be any compatibility issues. (I’m also slightly terrified of opening the laptop, haha.)

Does anyone with an Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54-71KM have experience upgrading storage or using this specific SSD?

These are the other storage options I considered:

\- Crucial P310 2TB

Model: CT2000P310SSD8

Type: M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4

NAND: QLC

DRAM: No (DRAM-less)

Advertised speed: 7100 / 6000 MB/s

\- Crucial BX500 2TB

Model: CT2000BX500SSD1

Type: SATA III 2.5"

NAND: probably QLC

DRAM: No (DRAM-less)

Approximate real-world speed: \~500–550 MB/s max

Thanks in advance!

(Esto lo traduje con ayuda de la IA porque soy bastante malo en Inglés xd)

Data Storage for 6 week Motovlogging Trip

Hi everyone, I’m quite new to the motovlogging game and have planned a 6-week trip later this year. I would love to have 3 points of data redundancy with solid state drives that are IP rated. Has anyone here done a trip for several weeks that needed to back up considerable amounts of data while away? What type of drives did you use? Any links to Youtube videos that might help explain data management on extended trips would be appreciated. Thanks!
