Welcome to "Why do I have this ship?"

Welcome to "Why do I have this ship?"

I am once again requesting your support. I have a Paladin. I am mainly a Solo player but am heavily considering finding a small group to fly with in the very near future.

I know this ship is not a solo ship. And it will never really shine when flown with another player.

How has this ship done since 4.7 and the armor implementation? If I was adamant about staying a solo player forever, I would get rid of it. But with another player, is it worth keeping? Is it the best 2 man ship? Are there any interesting changes that may come up soon that I'm not aware of that makes it worth holding on to? What have been your experiences with it?

On other Gunships, I own a TAC and as a solo player it is a dream! And comparing these two as gunships, It looks like the TAC wins on so many levels. I'm not exactly wanting to compare the two because they seem more different than similar in what they do, despite both being Gunships.

Advice

Couldn’t secure an Idris so this is the current fleet. Have about 300 bucks in SC to use. Don’t mind going a little over that but looking for suggestions. Was thinking of getting an Asgard again or going the mining route with a prospector for BP work.

What should i change? Industrial player

Hey there i feel like i should melt or change something but dont know what would make sense for mainly industrial gameplay. I thought of maybe upgrade the prospector to mole maybe?

The perseus i only got because i love the design but only took it out a few times to play or lend it to others.

Thoughts on my fleet?

I haven't changed much in a long time. I've been going after ships that I enjoy on some level.

C8R - Zipping around and bunkering. It's nice to have the medbed and something I can rely on spawning quickly.

Cutter Rambler - My little space campervan. I use it as a shuttle for that more 'homely' feel. Like the C8R, it means I'm not going to be waiting around a long time for claim timers if things are getting buggy.

Vulture - A nice little industrial/live-in space when I want to be productive and go scavanging. Probably more efficient options, but I like the scrappy Drake feel.

SRV - I obviously lean towards Drake ships, but I like the idea of having the option to tow stuff around. Maybe help people. Maybe help feed the Vulture. Who knows?

Vanguard Warden - I wanted some sort of fighter in my fleet. Doesn't get too much fly time at the moment, but I like to have the option.

Corsair - This does a little bit of everything and it's a nice size. It's managable solo, but has space for a crew. Probably my favourite of all my ships.

Caterpillar - My big space hauler. I love the asthetics and this is for when I want to 'work' and make some income with some relaxing cargo runs. I know it's not the most practical at the moment meta-wise, but it makes me feel the most like a space trucker.

600i - Definitely the odd one out in my fleet, but nice to have tge 'luxury' option if I want to wear my top hat. After the rework it can function as a base of operations, along with being able to squeeze the C8R in as a shuttle.

Pretty happy with the current fleet. I've a decent bit of gameplay loop variety available between scavanging, bounty hunting and hauling. I know I don't have any mining vehicles, but I feel more inclined towards scavenging in the Vulture.I used the Prospector before, but never felt all that drawn to mining, so I have a bit of a gap there. Haven't really looked too much at the Golem.

I have CCU tokens for the Ironclad Assault and the BMM, but no plans to use them at the moment.

Recommendations?

I'm thinking of melting everything I can and collecting some cheap(ish) store credits to upgrade to a Praetorian Pack but I'm not sure if it's worth it. I can't get rid of the F7As or the L-21/22s since those are OC with their limited paints I wanted, and I can't get rid of the Ares Ion/Inferno since those are apart of the swords of valor pack. I'm not sure what I'm missing and if it would be a good move to save and make the upgrade.

Overall, the melt value for everything in my hangar is around the $10,000 mark.

Anybody else having this predicament?

Perseus seems more fun out of the two if you have a crew, but I rarely do and mostly play solo. Plus, most of the fun is in the turrets.

Tiburon laser is very enticing as a solo pve big ship smacker.

Update:

They fit different niches for me, so I caved and now have both lol. RIP.

Welp this is the finale for Defence-Con

Was debating on the Tiburon and Perseus.

I am Solo uo to three players.

Figured I'd go Perseus since 6 PDC and can live in the ship with a Nursa/Pitbull.

I then Rock the Pisces and Tractor in the ironclad for Hauling (i really like cargo.) And then lil ATLS for mining/moving.

Then I fell in love with the M80 since it has good guns and can do box missions. Its like a sport car door dasher.

Think I am pretty content now and do loops I enjoy. 🫡

Should i add anything to this fleet?

So as of right now this is my current Fleet. I used the Drake complete Pack as the base and everything is pledged. the ships that i upgraded to are the Reclaimer ,M80,Tana and the Tiburon.

Im curious if there is any ship worth adding to this fleet.

Thanks for the Feedback

Not sure where to go from here.

First pic is once I've applied all the CCUs I have. Just waiting for IAE to get some intermediaries. Second is current state. Third is CCU game. Not sure whether I want to keep the galaxy. I need a base builder by really hate the starlancer, and refuse to f5 for a pioneer so might be my only option. Thinking of getting a tiburioororororon, whatever the Aegis Boullion, but really hate Aegis interiror.

Hoping this is my final fleet! Happy where I'm at, but open to thoughts 🚀

Hey everyone, RizElement here.

I’ve been taking a hard look at my hangar, and I’m honestly hoping this is my final fleet. I’m really happy with where my setup is at right now. Even if new ships come out, I don’t see them needing to be pledged as part of this core group—anything else I want, I can just earn in-game.

Here’s a little breakdown of everything I’m running and how it fits into my daily play and our Vault401 group ops:

Origin M80: My quick, heavy combat daily. Great for solo flight, and it has 2 SCU for the essentials.

Anvil Asgard: My main daily workhorse. With 180 SCU, it hits the sweet spot whether I'm flying solo or with a friend.

MISC Starlancer TAC: My go-to for solo/group bunker runs and general PvE.

RSI Perseus: My solid group PvP/PvE brawler for heavy space combat when the crew gets together.

RSI Galaxy: Primarily for 500 SCU hauling, but with the modules (and whatever future modules they bring out), it’s my ultimate general-purpose solo/group ship.

Anvil Liberator: My solo/group industrial backbone. It has 400 SCU, but the real draw is the deck space for craft and ground vehicles. Loading this up with friends' vehicles for long-session gameplay is going to be incredibly fun.

Drake Ironclad Assault: Kind of like the Liberator, but it serves as my main large-scale hauler with that massive 1440 SCU capacity.

I’d love to hear your opinions and thoughts on the setup.

Keep in mind that anything you feel is "missing" (like light fighters, specialized miners, or smaller starters), I’ve intentionally left out so I have goals for in-game progression.

However, if you do have a ship you think would be a great addition to this core fleet, it has to meet two rules:

It has to be $300+ 2. It cannot just have one role or be niche. It needs to be versatile and multi-role.

What do you guys think? Have I covered my bases, or is there a high-tier multi-role ship I'm completely overlooking?

Solo Indy Focus

I keep going back and forth trying to decide if I need a flagship like a Corsair or TAC. I don't want to dump much more money in this project, so something would have to go. What would you do? As we near 1.0, I will almost certainly melt some of the cheaper ones and get a pricier ship.

Fleet Additions / Changes

I was curious on what I should add or change to my fleet. I want to keep the Polaris, ICA, Liberator, Galaxy, Tiburon, M80, and the Firebird. The rest can be changed to whatever, they’re just placeholders. I have 294$ store credit plus whatever I can get if I change any of the other ships. I have like another 50-100$ or so in random cosmetic items too. Let me know what you think or I should change.

This is my mini fleet

This is my mini fleet. With the 4.8 wipe, I realized I needed a basic combat ship, which is why I chose the Sabre—fast, deadly, maneuverable, and cheap. It fits inside capital ship hangars and makes playing with friends much easier. I also realized I couldn't be without a fast and tough ship, so I chose the Redeemer. It moves similarly to a [m80] but with room for more friends, more shields, more armor, and more HP! Not to mention the 2 SCU of cargo space, which raised a question for me after the release of the [m80]: will it be possible to carry cryopods in that space for Bounty Hunting 2.0? That really caught my attention!! I believe it should be possible, even if it's inferior to ships that come with prisoner cryopods by default. It would be awesome if CIG thought of that. And of course, an industrial ship—my beloved Galaxy. Being modular, it will be the most efficient way to make money. Cargo, medical, refining, item crafting, and base building... it does a bit of everything, and while it's a master of none, it does everything!! This feels like an excellent setup to me. I know there are 'better' choices out there, but I don't want the absolute best! I want to have the satisfaction of earning other ships in-game, and having the best of everything right now would ruin that feeling. What do you guys think? Is this the right call? To go down this path?
