The RSI Polaris with the 2955 Best in show paint.

I keep mentioning in other posts how much I love this ship, so I thought I'd finally just make an appreciation post for this ship that I love so much.

First off, I never had any intention of buying or using this ship. It's far larger than anything else I had ever had or used and the $975 price tag just didn't seem worth it. How many other ships I could get for that price!

But I did get one and I have never regretted it since. As a former Carrack owner and enthusiast, I enjoy my Polaris even more than I did my Carrack. And it's so much more versatile.

Sometimes I put my prospector and salvation in it and just fly around looking for mining or salvaging. Sometimes I put one of my fighters in it to go and do PVE combat missions. Or load ammo, fuel, and sometimes RMC with a couple of snubs for a couple of friends to fly when they get tired of sitting in a turret. And with the survivability of the hull, shields, and PDC's, even I can jump into a turret and help shoot enemies. or I can land on a planet or moon and do bunkers or other facilities. Or run cargo with the 576 scu hold. The point is that the Polaris has the range and capability to do just about everything, or at least to bring along another ship that can.

The Polaris is fun to fly, too. Even more so than the Carrack was. It's a big ship and you feel that, but you get a feel for its maneuverability pretty quickly. And it just looks fantastic inside and out. Even though the ship was designed around the size 10 torpedoes, I've never used them or missed them. Most of the time they are far too expensive to use or just too complicated to resupply or fire. But the Maris dual s6 turret will make any ship take notice.

This is the ship I could live in and make my mobile base. The Idris is just too big, especially solo, at least for me. With the upcoming release of the Galaxy, it looks to be a smaller, more specialized version of the Polaris with its modules. If I didn't have the Polaris I'd be looking forward to the Galaxy. But I don't foresee anything taking the place of the Polaris for a long time to come.

I have about 280 Store Credits in my account and this is my IAE plan.
And I still gonna buy Galaxy's Cargo and Medical Module.

Try to collect all Starlancer variant cause I really like them.
Is there any guess about MFC's and BLD's MSRP ?

I am at a predicament. I want to try my luck in November for the Kraken but I am not willing to put any more money in (I think I've put in enough). Most of my ships are CCued chains and melting them gives roughly half or a bit less than they value.

I need an extra 750 store credit to have the full 1650 amount to gamble for the Kraken. And I can get it by melting the Gemini and the Tiburon. My predicament is that if I melt them I cannot buy them back as they are chains.

Should I go for it ? Gemini served well in the era of infinite refuel money but that is now gone and I cannot say I really fell in love with that playstyle ( I am more of an industrial player mining/crafting). The tiburon although was hyped for it, has been a let down (something which might change down the road).

What would you do ?

So I try to have a little bit of everything available to me so I am not really locked out of much whenever something becomes handy or profitable. I used to have an Anvil F8C but I didn't use it enough to sit on 300 credits (I got gold ticket back in the day. I did not spend 300 bucks). So I melted it and used the funds to finish my fleet (Adding the Salvation, Golem, C8R) then I used some of the credits to upgrade the Golem Ox simply to change things up and have something a bit faster when I do intersteller hauling. Same cargo capacity just bigger QT drive and tank so it kinda gets the job done faster. However I have encountered a lot more issues using the Spirit C1 than I did with the OX so I will probably revert it and during IAE pick up something nice.

Gladius of course I have because it will pretty much always be a reliable, good quality ship. Shiv for it's firepower and versatility as well as size 2 components. Aurora is my starter with some versatility (can do light cargo and light combat). Salvation for getting RMC, C8R for medical. Golem for some mining. The OX/Spirit handles small-medium cargo.

Thinking of getting something bigger and more versatile. Probably will check out the new Constellation when that drops.

Edit: Probably gonna change a lot come IAE. Get into bigger ships.
