Shipping home to the island

I have my living situation and work sorted, and have friends and family on-island. Don’t need any advice on that front as I am very familiar with the current state of life there.

Currently just looking for advice on shipping companies. I’ll probably have a pallet’s worth of 27-gallon bins and my SUV to ship down. Is Blue Ocean the best bet in terms of cost? Any recent movers shop around and find better rates? I’m not moving any furniture or large items, just personal stuff like books, clothes, and the like that’ll fit in uniform bins that can be stacked and wrapped on a pallet.

Caribbean Night at the Deep End

Has anyone been to Caribbean Night this season? We're traveling with friends and would like to take them, but I heard the set up changed this year. Is it still a buffet at a set price?

Honeymoon

In the air right now headed to St Croix for my honeymoon. A full week of sitting on the beach drinking and smoking cigars and doing pretty much nothing.

How to make most of my time in St Croix

I am in StCroix for my bday a Weds evening thru Sunday morning this summer. I have lots of questions and looking for itinerary input and the most fun things to do while here!

I want to pack my days with exciting stuff and explore. What hiking trail is best, to the tidal pools or to the light house? Or should I try to do both?

I am staying in Frederiksted so I want to snorkel the pier and maybe do the buck island tour… should I bring my snorkel gear with me or just rent it there?

Should I get a car rental? If so where?

I also want to do the Cruzan rum tour and the botanical gardens if it’s worth the time?

And is the bio bay kayaking worth it? What about the sunset boat cruise?

Where would be a good place to get dinner on my actual bday night?

Real Estate property disclosure / questions Answered

Hi all — looking for some insight from people who have purchased homes on island.

Did you receive a property disclosure from the seller during your purchase process? If so, at what stage did you receive it?

- Prior to making an offer

- After going under contract

- During inspections/due diligence

- Or not at all

Also curious whether buyers were generally able to get substantive answers to questions from sellers before submitting an offer (permits, repairs, age/history of systems, solar and cistern info, idea of general home location on previoussurvey, etc.), or whether most information was only provided after contract execution. Or, maybe not shared by the sellers at all.

Trying to better understand what is typical for real estate transactions on island compared to mainland practices.

Appreciate any experiences or perspectives people are willing to share.
