Range Panda holster
Just curious if anyone has used the Range Panda holster on their Pus.

I saw this on tacswap and had to scoop this bad boy up. The four month wait is not gonna work for me. The guys selling this, Fourged Group, were on the other side of the country, but I felt immediately that they were legit. I am glad I took the risk, because I am generally a poor judge of character and I live every day in the shadow of regret due to chronic poor decision making. I did not know how lucky I was to get this hybrid porting. This is my first and only 2011, so I am not dialed in. I think the chunk port is more elegant as the slide is unsegmented and the inline seven ports do a lot of heavy lifting for return to zero and muzzle control. I absolutely love this rig. Highly recommend. This purchase is only going to reinforce my abysmal behavior.
If I knew I could have the gun in a couple weeks I would buy it in a second but waiting four months gives me time to think about my decision LOL
Saved $400ish because a guy ran one mag for it and decided he wanted to stick with wheel guns. Wasn't exactly what I wanted... But crossing my fingers at some point they'll sell additional slides so I can get a comped one with a native holosun cut... holster already on order from River Arms.
And for those on the wall with mecgar 20s. They seat fine.
Taking her out on Friday morning and may throw my can on it for s's and g's once I get her zeroed.
Looking to upgrade my Platy's guide rod from OEM to tooless. I know for a fact that the comped model is 5" government length, but never specified if the upgrade should be for bushing or bull barrel. Has anyone tried? If so, which one should I go for? (thinking Atlas gunworks or Dawson)
Looking for holster recommendations. Tried the US Duty gear and it wouldn’t fit. Needs to be level 2 or level 3 as it will be used for my Sheriffs department duty weapon.
Got my Platty yesterday! Fitted with River Arms LLC holster!
I went with the 3 to 3.5 trigger pull weight and when measuring with my Lyman digital trigger pull weight it’s coming in around 2lbs. Tested my Glock and P365 and they’re coming in as they should.
So I’m curious, being my first 1911 double stack, the leaf sprint in the MSH can be adjusted to get a heavier pull right?
Due to our archaic import laws it’s going to be a long wait to get it to Australia so want to get it right!
If it looks like I'm aiming high I was (target was far and up). I love of this gun shoots and the prickle will NOT leave ur hand.
Ordered 4/1 and picked up 6/27
One issue so far, I didn’t get my fixed rear sight to install with the optic, I’ve sent a message to Stealth Arms about that.
Colors are H261 (Glock FDE) and H190 (Armor Black)
The FDE is a great match!
Got my “ slightly less boring” Platypus today :) ordered on 3/27.
Hey yall, I just picked up my Platypus “Storm Trooper” (which means I probably won’t hit shit) but I was wondering what steel mags everyone uses? I run MBX for my PCC but was hoping to find something a little cheaper than the MBX. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone use 2011s for tactical training? Or carbine/pistol combination? I always see people talk about Striker fire for tactical training. I want to get the most bang for my buck and use all my guns. I have 2 pistols(Canik Mete SF and Rival) and a 13.9 ADM. I plan on making my next a 2011(PLATYPUS, KIMBER, Sig GT5, or XP ). Any thoughts/opinions/experiences? Yours Truly, Mr. Plan Ahead.
I'm a USPSA (B-class pushing A) shooter with 13,000+ rounds through my Platypus. She's been shooting a match with me every two weeks since mid 2024, plus practice, and lately semi-daily dryfire. She's been shoved in a holster through hundreds of reps, even tossed in the dirt for Brutality matches. Point is, we've been through a lot together. The only changes I've made to it have been a toolless guide rod and a lighter recoil spring (#11 Atlas). Handleitgrips.
In October 2025, I noticed a little smudge on the slide, to the left of the ejection port. I wiped it down and moved on.
In May 2026, while cleaning my gun in preparation for a major match (Golden Bullet Championship), I noticed the same smudge, but this time it looked much more like a crack. A large crack, one that ran all the way into the slide, along the edge of the breech face. For about 10 seconds, I considered pretending I hadn't seen anything and shooting the major anyway. I imagined what would happen if the gun decided to give up in the middle of a stage. I like my fingers, I need them all. 10 seconds later, I sent an email to Stealth Arms, describing what I was looking at.
Stealth Arms customer service asked for pictures of the gun. I also gave them a call in order to discuss what sending the gun in for repair might look like. With no more questions asked, they got me a shipping label, and I sent her off via Next Day Air UPS.
(I shot GBC with a borrowed Platypus which, while it wasn't mine, did the job. I did not perform spectacularly. I've been shooting my CZ SP-01 since then.)
Today, a month and some change later (June 2026), I received my rebuilt Platypus. They created a brand new slide and matching barrel for me, switching me to a bull barrel instead of the original bushing barrel, with the cerakote colors I requested. They swapped out the trigger for me, purely as a favor. They even took the liberty of installing a new mainspring housing to pin my grip safety properly, instead of the wacky job that I had done. All of this, pro gratis. I am floored by the level of customer service they provided.
Thoughts: My original Platypus slide was a trident-style slide with an SRO/RMR cut. This style/cut combination leaves very little material in the exact spot where my slide cracked. When this first happened, I was sent a picture from an acquaintance whose trident-style slide had cracked in nearly the exact same way. In my new slide (classic-style), it seems that there is more material in that spot. If you have a trident slide, I would inspect your gun in this area for any signs of cracking.
tl;dr: gun slide cracked, it might be a defect, Stealth Arms made it right and then some. Thank you so very much!
Snagged this off a buddy for a steal, and boyyyy am I a sucker for orange... despise the blue tho😂
I'm beginning my platypus journey and am debating between the extended mecgar mags, Factory Glock 24 Magazines and a regular 17 magazine with extensions. I've already got a pile of Magpul extended 21 round magazines for some p80s.
Is there any reason not to opt for the Factory magazines (not shooting USPSA, so I'm not worried about length) and eliminating the base pad expense and potential failure point vs the Factory Glock magazine, or maybe even the extended Magpul Magazines knowing they'll get worn out vs. Mecgar's metal magazines.
