New fan- Looking for shows

Just saw SCI for the first time at Red Rocks last weekend, and they completely blew me away. Ive been a long time Phish/Dead fan, but for whatever reason never got into string cheese, probably being originally from the East Coast and not being around where they were playing. Only songs I knew walking in were Howard and Sirens, which they didn’t play either but the jamming blew me away.

I was wondering what are some shows/songs with epic jams I should check out are! Probably one of the best bands I’ve ever seen, along with Phish and Dopapod.

Bruh what is playing rn on nugs stream

It’s like a disco funk song, definitely Kyle’s voice with another female singer and Kyle is autotuned!!! So bizarre, anybody know what it is or if it’s a remix

Random musings: Why no SCI cover bands?

Ok, please don't laugh me out of the sub for this potentially uninformed question, but my friend and I were recently grooving to Pink Talking Phish and began wondering why Cheese doesn't have (m)any cover bands? (I'm sure there are a few very local ones out there but we were thinking of the larger touring cover bands in this context).

Is it because their sound is so diverse? Because of all the covers *they* do (that doesn't sound right)?

I'm sure there's an explanation that will make me feel derpy for asking this at all - but I'd love to hear your thoughts or even a solid answer!

Relive The String Cheese Incident's Red Rocks Musical Tour De Force [Review/Pictures/Videos] 07.17 & 18.26 Concert Review RAV:ZO 0017

This review of The String Cheese Incident's run at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre last weekend is the longest, most in-depth thing I have written in years. Tons of photos, like an hour and a half or so of videos and an intensive look into the two night extravaganza! DIG IT!

P.S. I'm sure a typo or two slipped through as it took me days to finish this partly because of the depth allowed in using my Substack (Like! Subscribe! IT'S FREE!!! Please and thank you!) but some family health trials and tribulations but HOT DAMN that was a fun run!

To go or not to go?

Have never heard any SCI at all, but I have heard of them and know they’re well regarded in the jam scene. I enjoy the dead, and was wondering if everyone here thinks it’d be worth $120+ to see a band I don’t know.

And yes, I understand that I’m asking the band’s subreddit/their fans if I should go.

Which song does the audience collectively whoop?

It's during a song. I've googled and can't find it. Keep getting different answers. Seen Cheese multiple times but can't find the answer anywhere. Want to whoop along live tonight. Thanks.

Late in the Evening

Can we talk about how spot on Travis did Paul Simon’s late in the evening in that acoustic set?? What a treat!! Incredible job guys!! Love that song so very much.

Also, I want to say how much I love the change up and how special it is to hear some of my favorites stripped down. It really lets you guys shine in new ways and lets us hear you in new ways. Thank you thank you thank you!!

Stops along the next leg of tour

My friend and I are hitting the next 5 stops, SLC, Lake Tahoe, Eugene, Jacksonville, and Seattle
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions or recommendations for places to eat, shop, nature to explore, head shops to visit, art/artists to see…

ANY suggestions are greatly welcomed for each city but especially Eugene/Oregon as that’s what we’re most excited for!

Excited for this week and to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones!

Fuck tarpers

I get that you showed up early and set your blanket over six seats for the two of you, but it's a sold out show. You gotta make SOME room.

Then instead of asking people to leave, you just passive aggressively bump into them and elbow people in the ribs.

If you need 20 square feet to enjoy yourself at a concert keep your old fucking ass at home.

Cheese crowds have always been my favorite and nothing but good vibes but goddamn if last night CO definitely earned its reputation in the jam scene as having shitty crowds.

Thank You

I wanted to write this post after experiencing what may have been the best live show I have ever been to.

Me and my friend are both English. We have never been to Denver before and the only thing we were both told about extensively was Red Rocks. Id seen footage online about the venue carved into a mountain so we were both excited to book a ticket to a random gig. That gig was The String Cheese Incident on Saturday night. We went in blind, and what a decision that turned out to be. Their guitar melting sound mixed with funk, disco and jazz was something else.

But the main reason for making this post is to thank the wonderful people in front of us along with the people on the bus to and from the event. Big beards and big hearts. They sorted me and my friend our with caps and we had a blast. When another brick in the wall came on (the onlh song i knew) I had a moment in which I couldnt believe my luck. Loved the band, loved the night. Thank you to the beards that made it special!
