EVIIR boxes in Felixstowe, Suffolk, UK

Look at the top of the pillar-box. (IYKYK – the arrow would’ve pointed to the left.)

The wall-box is opposite the rail station.

Bury St Edmunds or Stowmarket?

Now we are looking at new built houses in these areas, we are still deciding wether to live in stowmarket or bury st edmunds. As I am still looking for a permanent role as a social worker (without UK experience yet). Where would you guys think is the best place to be to look for a social worker between these two?

We are looking at houses in Hopkins Home Mill Grove (BSE) and Hopkins Stowmarket/Crest Nicholson - Aspen Grange. Also if anyone has lived in these properties right now, is there anything we should look out for?

Thank you

Missed connection? Potential friend? in a coffee shop in newmarket

This is so random and probably will be super unpopular but i cannot think what else to do about it now its on my mind.

So there is this really friendly woman i see in a coffee shop, like myself, quite happy to sit alone and enjoy her own company. Respect that so much.

But we have a few times now, by chance, happened to be in at the same time on a saturday (i dont go in every week, probably only been in 3 of the last 10 weeks) and she seems very friendly and smiles each time., from a distance.

At this point im like hmm maybe i should say hi but i dont want to be weird/intimidating especially in these times where we rightly respect peoples space.

but im thinking if she looks over and smiles a lot then maybe she would like a friend? might be a tad lonely?

it kind of feels less weird to ask that on here than speak to someone in person who you dont know that might be like eww no i dont want to know you i was just being polite from a distance.

Everyone is on reddit these days so maybe she will even see it and maybe will say hi next time.

i feel if i dont do something soon, if they did want a friend, they might get frustrated and ignore me soon.

Loft/Roof Builder Recommendations

Is this mould??? 😭😭😭

Looking for some quotes for some work in my mum's loft and possibly roof. We suspect there is a small leak as we could hear a dripping noise coming from the loft on and off for a while, then finally a small stain appeared in a bedroom ceiling last time it rained (which feels like months ago...). I popped my head up in to the loft and could see some of the insulation has been disturbed (I think this was from botched attempts at roof repairs previously) and has some dark patches which I'm hoping are not mould, but I don't have the equipment or expertise to get up there and find out what's going on.

Does anyone have a recommendation of someone who can investigate and make appropriate repairs or remove the insulation if that is required.

Thank you

Alternatives in Suffolk for birdwatching?

I’ve been bird watching for around 2 years, being from the midlands, after doing some research I found Minsmere to be one of, if not, the best place in the UK for bird watchers. So we booked an air BnB for my birthday 30 minutes from Minsmere.

Of course the tragic turn of events at dunwich Heath has led to the closure of Minsmere and dunwich Heath nature reserves. To try and make the most out of the trip, are there any nearby or alternative nature reserves that would be good for birdwatching not too far from Bruisyard / Saxmundham (where we’re staying)
