Why hasn't anyone tried hacking it with an axe? Hacking is usually done with axes... Is everyone stupid?

Estimate 2029 as the latest a softmod will release

As we know, LLMs are getting increasingly good at complicated things with a computer. All the cybersecurity things with Claude Mythos and gpt 5.5 cyber show companies might be taking it more seriously. But this also means in a year or two when there's cheap and effective coders, the switch 2 (I leave mine offline on the base firmware) will eventually be hackable. Theoretically you could make progress today but it wouldn't be fast or likely.

I'd estimate the chances of coders doing this to increase per year.

10% 2026 (they're good, but not cheap yet)

30% 2027

75% 2028

If the normal rate of 250x cheaper per year with the same abilities continues as it has been for the past 3 or so then there's no question about it. Patches are released so this isn't a big issue for the real world but an isolated system has no chance it'll hold out.

1 year ago, GPT o3 scores 15/100 in agentic tasks (artificialanalysis)

Today, Gemini 3.5 flash is ~3-4x faster, scores 58/100, and ~1.5x the cost to complete the benchmark.

A year before that, I believe the best model was Claude 3.5 sonnet which could hardly string together a tool call.

The future looks bright. I don't see any flaws in this prediction, but other checking it would be appreciated.

Have y'all tried jonkling it a little?

As the title says. Has anyone tried to Jonkle the switch 2? If we get the attention of Man, his high IQ of #1 would probably be able to get into the switch 2 system and allow us to put his switch 2 hack BoneBrew into it.

Are y'all stupid?

Switch 2 BAN!

bought a Switch 2.

I tested it before buving it and everything seemed fine! Then I got home, tried to link my account, but found out it had been banned...

Obviously, I'II never hear from the seller again.

I tried contacting Nintendo Support, but this is the response I got: how did they manage to unlock the console with the warranty??

It's basically unusable--what do you think I can do??

Email Content Thank you for contacting Nintendo Europe Customer Service We understand the situation and do not doubt your good faith. However, as we mentioned in our previous communication, under our current policies, the console lock is permanent and cannot be removed. For this reason, unfortunately, we are unable to intervene or provide further assistance regarding this matter We suggest that, if possible, you try contacting the seller again to find a solution. We sincerely regret the situation and that we are unable to be of further assistance. We wish you a good day. The Nintendo Contact Center Europe Team Translated with

i may not have a brain but i have TWO ideas

so the first idea is basicly we take the switch 2's drive and install it on the pc and if it dont work we try a bunch of random bullshit code until it does

idea 2

is like we put the card in switch 1 then try and aither extract it through the switch one drive or use a double card extender to put it and the mig in switch 1

What I would do with a hacked Switch 2

Play steam games (no I’m not buying a steam deck for $1000) but mainly call of duty black ops 2…they really should remaster black ops 2 the RIGHT way, I’d pay $70 for a remaster, allllll they gotta do is just fix the theater and make the graphics looks alittle better that’s it. But they don’t like Money so they won’t.

Blasting the switch with a tv remote

Actually this could work. If for example you created an game that has the right joy con ir sensor support. And made so If the ir sensor gets blasted with a tv remote. It would overload the system and make memory leak. And like input the homebrew this could work

Claude Mythos

this might be a dumb question.. but i know claude mythos is insane at detecting bugs and insecurities, and people have gotten their hands on it. is it even possible for this to be used to help in someone hack the switch 2 or probably not?

Just ask to Sony

Why don't we ask Sony to help us jailbreak the Switch 2? It would destroy Nintendo's economy and boost PlayStation sales. I think we need to change our mindset, because partnering with Sony can only be beneficial. Does anyone have the contact information for a guy who works for Sony so we can ask him ?
