Movement retriction script.

Someone helped me with a script for me that locks a model’s movement to the line it’s facing. I first made it for space games, like Star Trek A Call To Arms, but it fits hexless BattleTech movement which you can see in the video, so I’m adding it to our models.

Watch the video and you’ll see it: I can move the model forward and back along its facing, and even if I drag it side to side, it stays on that line. When I turn it, the movement line changes to match the new facing.

I am going to put the code in the workshop, but what is the best way to do this? I have an object with the global script, but the models will need a line in their scripting.

How does it work ?

I love board games, but not always i can play them, only with family or some friends once or twice every month. How does the tabletop simulator work ? Can i play any game with anyone in a server ? If i want to play the scythe boardgame i can just create a server and random people join it ? Do people play correctly or just go and troll everything ?

218 ready-to-play minis for TTS

Hi all, just wanted to let you know about 2 large sets of minis we've been working on in partnership with Velrock.

There are 106 fantasy miniatures and 112 sci-fi miniatures, all separated into factions.

They load on-demand when dropped onto your table, so no lag spikes.

Perfect if you're playing D&D or similar and need some matching, colored factions to drop in! (Just waiting for the next TTS update with the specular bugfix to make the colors a little more true to the original miniatures.)

Happy to answer questions if you have any!

Need someone to help me with models

Hi! I made this post because for the life of me I cannot figure out how to import custom models into tabletop. I was hoping someone could teach me or import the models themselves and let me use them? I don’t know if it’s that’s a big ask but I hope it isn’t. I hope everyone has a great day!

Huge memory leaks in online play

Recently when I host my D&D table some time after server creation. Tabletop stops responding and memory usage increases rapidly. It seamingly occurs more often when there is more people on the table.
I am using msi laptop and performance in a singleplayer and when I am not a host is completely fine. Already tried cleanerblock, deapcleaner block, assigning high perfomance gpu to zfgamebrowser, to tabletope simulator, does not have full-screen optimisation and have neither steam nor discord overlay.

Is there any way to fix it?

The "All-In-One" Wargamer Finder

WFB has a very specific problem: it's a rank-and-flank game that needs a committed opponent, larger armies, and a decent-sized table — which means casual pickup games at the shop are rarer than with 40K or Kill Team. Finding someone local who actually plays, has armies painted, and wants a regular game is a real challenge.

I built **Flank** to try to fix exactly this. It's a free app where you enter your postcode (no GPS tracking), pick your game systems — including Warhammer: The Old World — and see who's nearby. You can list your specific armies, send meet requests, find local clubs, and log your battles.

A few things worth knowing:

- **No GPS.** Postcode only, fuzzed server-side. No one can see your precise location.

- **Army listing** — you can note your WFB factions (Empire, Bretonnia, Orcs & Goblins, etc.) so opponents know what they're up against before reaching out

- **140+ systems** — if you also play 40K, Horus Heresy, or anything else, they're already in there - plus all legacy editions - whichever ruleset you prefer, you can find like minded wargamers

- **Free** — discovery, messaging, meet requests, clubs, battle log. No paywall for the basics.

The Wargaming community deserves a better way to find games than trawling Facebook. We're almost ready to launch, UK first — register your interest now wherever you are:

https://www.flanktt.com/

What would make this specifically useful for WFB players — anything you'd want to filter by?

I need some feedback or ideas from you all on my card game.

I’m making a dungeon crawler card game in Tabletop Simulator that I’m proud of called Dark Shadows (Link if you want to play https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=367601402)

anyway, I need some boss ideas and stuff and I also want feedback if you play it. Here’s a summary if you don’t wanna play or you wanna get a gameplay idea: You choose a hero class (each hero has a starting weapon, a starting armor, and a health value, and some have abilities.) and you fight through the dungeon (by flipping over cards until a normal or door version are drawn) and the combat is simple, you play 3 attack cards from your hand to get over their defense and kill them (bosses (ones that have health) take 1 damage (unless they have 0, then they die).) and put them in the discard and once you kill all threats in a room you can discard all cards in play by using a door and repeat until you kill the final boss at the bottom of the dungeon. By the way, I am not asking you to play the game specifically, I just need help from you guys, whether ideas or feedback.

Did Tabletop Simulator's Lighting break?

Hey everyone,

Kinda a weirdly specific bug/question thread for ya.

My group has been playing DnD using Heroforge models for years now. At some point in the last couple of months, I've noticed all of the metals have lost their shine. They look very dull compared to how they used to look.

Has anyone else noticed this difference in lighting/reflectiveness of metals? I thought something with the models themselves changed, but I've loaded them into other programs to test things, and the metals indeed look shiny still. I've posted a side by side comparison (one of them is an old image, sorry for it not being super zoomed in). I am hoping I can get some guidance/confirmation that something has changed.

Before

After

You can see it most clearly on the skeleton with the metal helmet. It's just completely grey/bone colored now. Not one bit of metallic shine.

Thinking of getting the game, is it worth getting it if I’m mostly playing solo?

As the title says, I was thinking of getting Tabletop Simulator for myself. I do have friends online that maybe I could play with but overall I’d most likely play it for myself

I know a lot of games can be automated and the like which leads to even being able to play against Ai

I enjoy board games a lot and this seems like a good way to play them but I’m not sure if this is worth it especially since I don’t see how I would be able to fully enjoy it without the multiplayer aspect

I’m basically wondering about other people’s experiences and if this would be worth buying

Looking for chill adult friends for board games !<3

Hiii! I’m looking for some adult friends (19+ preferably) to play board games with! Gender doesn’t matter I’m mainly looking for chill people who enjoy hanging out, VCing, and trying different games together. I already know/play games from a bunch of genres like Eldritch Horror, Root, Aeon’s End, The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era, Pokémon related stuff, and party and cozy games too. I also recently bought the Darkest Night DLC!

Right now I’m especially interested in learning Arkham Horror and Dwellings of Eldervale, but honestly I’m excited to try pretty much anything new. DMS ARE OPEN!!

INCOMING TRANSMISSION

Command and Conquer: SHOWDOWN is an Area Control board game, featuring 5 unique factions and 1 NEW FACTION coming soon!

Gameplay: 1v1, 2v2, or 4 player FFA.

One unique feature to Tiberium SHOWDOWN is the 60 second Action Timer. This DOES NOT track real passing seconds, but instead serves as a players action economy. Think of each second as an Action Point to be spent on various tasks and movements.

Link to TTS: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3145433798

Rulebook (Under Revision): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UFPXDMaOYROsg25IorzV6_cmY44AJnCkh-4URcWY9Lc/edit?usp=sharing

  • GDI (Easy and Straightforward)
  • Brotherhood of Nod (Fast and Cheap + Stealth)
  • The Invaders, SCRIN (Debuffs and Mill)
  • The Global Liberation Army, GLA (Disruptive and Utilitarian)
  • The Hierarchy (Mobile Bases and Steamrollers)
  • The Rising Sun, Imperials (Coming Soon!)

The purpose of this game is FUN! I want to make the ultimate RTS crossover featuring famous factions from the genre. Primarily taking place in the Tiberium universe, this endless war has attracted attention across time and space. Only one can prevail!

Troubleshooting my custom deck

I put my card images into a PNG grid image that is 2040 pixels wide and 2100 pixels tall. That's an 8x6 grid of 48 cards that are 255 x 350. I imported that, set the sliders to expect 8 cards wide and 6 cards tall, but only with 40 cards total since I left the bottom row blank because some tutorials say the bottom right card should be blank.

The deck was created. I shuffled. The "Search" looks great, showing just my 40 custom cards. But when I deal, every other player gets blank cards, while I get nice random custom cards.

What did I do wrong? How can I fix this? I've been troubleshooting this for 2 days, and Copilot is no help.

Looking for players to play Cthulhu Wars (2 to 8 players max, but prob not interesting at less than 4).

Just as Title says. Me and a friend discovered Tabletop sim recently, and we played some games of Trench Crusade on it (sorry, Warhammer is long gone to me). I stumbled upon Cthulhu Wars while looking for Eldritch miniatures for a custom Trench Crusade campaign I'm preparing for said friend. After looking at the rules and all, we're both enthousiastic to play it, but it's clearly a game that loses most of its interest in 1V1. We're looking for at least 2 players that would be interested, but the more the merier of course.

For a quick presentation, this game is a world conquest kind of games in the likes of Risk, but with extreme asymetry in mind. The playables maps are either from Lovecraft mytho or just Earth, oceans included, and there are 16 playables factions. We have no clue about the game balance, so don't feel like you're gonna get ambushed by veteran players looking for noobs to bully.

There are some cool stuff in it, and the gameplay seems interesting, but definitely gets more interesting the more players there are.

Just answer here or in my DMs if you are interested. We are both French but are perfectly capable of talking in English, and we will avoid talking in French between us while with foreign people on the call, we don't want to be rude or make people feel unwelcome.

For context, we have other friends, but most of them are LoL players. I can't even get my GF out of this miserable game to play other shit. Since I'm kinda loosing hope to bring them to other games, especially nerd shit like this game, I'd rather take my chance with Reddit.

Edit : Cthulhu Wars is, apparently, 1 to 2 hours long, but let's assume 3 since noone will prob have ever done a game of it before.

Are there any wargames on the workshop that aren't horribly complicated to use?

I feel like all the wargame stuff on the workshop is super super complicated to figure out and use or are broken in some way. Are there any wargames that were built from the ground up for TTS and has everything in a single mod?

It doesnt have to be Kill Team or 40K. I'm just looking for something that works straight out of the box and doesn't have broken tools and is somewhat light weight. Not 3 different mods to get one game working. Just a simple all in one wargame workshop item
