SSL CA certificate Error

Hei,
We have been playing Magic on Tabletop for Years now. And all of the sudden i cannot load the mods anymore. It works fine for my friends. I tried reinstalling the game, deleting the mods folder and basic windows security stuff.
This happens on multiple MTG Mods. I wanted to ask if anyone had a similiar issue before.
Thanks!

What's the proper way to quickly switch out maps?

I wanted to experiment with DMing on TTS for a change, but I've been wracking my head on how to quickly switch battlemaps/visual aids on the table, especially ones that are made of interconnected 3D objects? Of course, just planting them like you would do it on a real table is impractical, and I assume you can use "Additive load" for this, pre-making maps and then loading them in whenever necessary, but that entails making a whole-ass table for each map, which seems excessive. Is this the proper way, or are there better ways to switch between "table states"?

New user trying to setup table for Commander MTG games

So I bought and gifted this to a few of my friends with the summer sale going on hearing we can play commander together when we can't find time to meet up in person.

I have tried several different tables but I cannot, for the life of me, get a deck imported into any of them. It either says there was an issue with the server (even when I'm copying a deck list not a url into the importer) or one of them throws up a wall of red text ending with WWW image error: unable to complete SSL connection.

Any ideas as to what's going on? Every tutorial I've watched made it look so simple and it just worked flawlessly for them.

Trouble with MTG

So I noticed some people are reporting that they're having issues with MTG on TTS as far back as nearly two weeks ago but I played just last night with friends and had no problems. All of a sudden today it doesn't work, but it still works for my partner and he even has an additional importer that I don't have but we're running the same mod from Oops I Baked a Pie.

If Scryfall blocked all of the importers how is it still working for some people and not others?

Breakdown of why Scryfall blocked Tabletop Simulator (UnityPlayer agents)

Most importers weren't caching the cards at all. You can tell because the cards had direct links to Scryfall's image host, not to a third party cache. The Scryfall community manager confirms this was the direct cause here: https://bsky.app/profile/logan.scryfall.com/post/3mpbmcq7ncl2x

Most importers also chose to use the large version of the images instead of the normal size one, which is about ~50% more bandwidth. The normal size image looks the same as the large image after tabletop simulator does its rendering, so it's just wasteful. Technically they could have made a worse decision and used the png version, which is ~1,500% larger filesize than the normal size image.

Between those two things each four player EDH table hit ~1,600 requests to scryfall's image host for a larger than needed version of the card image in the span of a minute or two. The math is 4 players x 4 decks x 100 cards, because each client loads each card individually = 1600 requests.

All this is before factoring in API load, because most importers also use the scryfall API for card information. There are other options for that, like bulk downloads from scryfall or using mtgJSON for card data.

It's honestly a wonder they didn't block TTS permanently last time it got this bad.

Edit: I made a chart.

Mtg cards can’t be seen

My friends and I tend to have an issue everyonce in awhile on the mtg table for tabletop, and our hand won’t be visable, it will only show the back of the cards, and same goes for any cards in the deck and even the commander, it shows the eye icon similar to the scry button. No matter what we do it won’t consistently fix the issue, sometime restarting game fixes, sometimes it requires a full pc reset, other times we have to stop playing cause nothing fixes it. Has anyone else had an issue or is it just a setting that’s being selected on accident?

Certain MTG cards not loading on Frogtown

Trying to load in certain cards, mostly newer cards such as from Avatar and FF is just giving an MTG card back. Even after loading into TTS it's still just a card back. Any way to fix this?

Request for feedback, and seeking play testers via TTS

Hello all, it's been a minute.

Just want to start by saying while I have not posted too often here, I do visit nearly every day, and the info provided on this subreddit has been incredibly helpful.

We are preparing another physical prototype print of a 1-4 player co-op tactical skirmish campaign game, with some RPG elements. I am hoping to get a bit of feedback on the design, thoughts on mechanics, and opinions on if this would reach the tables of the audience I am targeting whether that is through the visuals here, or via the Tabletop Simulator Demo linked below.

*Quick disclaimer, the illustrations are AI-generated. This is to help me as a designer find the medium and overall design direction I am going for. One main objective of our future crowdfund would be to pay an artist (and pay them well) for the final shipped product.

Marksman Ranger Hero Board

About the game: Alamore

In Alamore, 4 Heroes will group up in a dungeon crawl campaign (12 quests) focused primarily on combat, loot, and progression. Heroes find a Corruption that is taking over the land, driving people and creatures mad. They are tasked to find the source of this Corruption and remove it.

The game features 8 core Classes, but each playable Hero is a specialized version of one of those Classes. For example; the Sorcerer Class includes Heroes like the Flamecaster and Icebinder, each with their own unique abilities, playstyle, and identity. Heroes share the fundamentals of their Class (starting stats, equip-able items, class perk) but play completely differently. We currently have 14 playable Heroes.

Core Mechanics

Hero's gain charges primarily by using their weapon's ability. These can then be spent to perform more powerful abilities.

Hero's turns consist of 2-actions. Actions consist of using an ability or moving; however, some abilities provide additional actions, more movement, or are follow-ups to a successful attack.

Each Hero's damage is based on their current equipped weapon. Additionally, each weapon has a crit chance that also affects the crit chance of all of their abilities as well.

Some abilities also cause Heroes to gain Threat. During the enemy phase, enemies will move towards and target the closest Hero in their range with the highest Threat.

A Dash/Evade mechanic allows for short 1-hex movements without using an action, and is also spent to roll the evade dice if targeted by an enemy/

There is a Chaos Track that rises at the end of each enemy phase, encouraging players to complete objectives and escape through the exit before things get...chaotic.

Quest 1, spiral for the book would be down the center of this.

Key Components

We use an 11x17 spiral book for our quest book/board. The objective is to limit the amount of setup normally required for games of this genre.

Currently we use standees for Heroes and Enemies, however we may consider a miniature upgrade for the Heroes in the final version.

There is a small skill tree-like deck of cards for each Hero consisting of 10 cards. There is a large loot deck, and a 3-tiered equipment card deck (tiered to keep balance in each of our 3 chapters in the campaign).

There is also a boss fight at the end of each chapter and named elites throughout the campaign. These enemies gain charges like the Heroes. Once they start a turn with full charges, the charges are spent and a devastating attack is performed.

Yes - there are dinosaurs in Alamore.

Target Audience

I am really just targeting people like myself; someone that loves dungeon crawlers and role-based classes with progression - who wants to find a game that they could play with their family and friends that may never normally touch a game like Gloomhaven, but may find interest in this.

If you made it this far, thank you.

I do have a full playable demo with the rulebook, 3-quests, and 5 Heroes currently live on Tabletop Simulator that I am always updating with the latest changes. Your feedback would be incredibly appreciated.

How to script pushing cubes in a line that looks realistic without physics sim?

A game I am designing requires that you push coloured cubes through a track. This works nice IRL however I want to try and replicate the motion in TTS. Through experimentation, the "flick" got me the track on the left, which is close to what I want to achieve, because these cubes need to line up with positions on an adjacent card. Setting snap points was a failure as they all fight and group together in the physics simulation. The best solution is scripting.

I am a hobbyist programmer who has already consulted AI regarding how to achieve this. Basically setting a range of positions and then moving each cube from position A->B , B->C, C->D, etc in one fluid movement. However all scripted games I have seen so far moves objects around as if they are being picked up, and I worry about clipping during moving since i am moving many at a time close together.

I am aiming for a direct point-to-point via direct lerping movement without the lift-up-and-place. As if you were to take your finger and push a new cube into the line and all others move up, because to spend actions, you take specific cubes you want to out of this line, and they are not necessarily the top ones. Is there a way to recreate this?

Is a single light LUT possible with LUA coding?

Question is their a possibility to make a light source (asset bundle) to ignore LUT applied in the lighting pane or have different LUT applied on it than rest of the table using LUA code?

Fetching a user's Profile Picture/Avatar in Scripting?

I want to create little cards for players that will have their username and avatar. I already know to obtain their names through Player["Color"].steam_name. However, I'm not sure how to get a reliable image link for players' avatars. I looked briefly into Steam's Web API but I don't have a domain I want to use to obtain an API key, since it's entirely run in game. Is there anything I can use in game to obtain their icons?
