Tt02 gears grinded until it's not working

After a while of playing I sometimes opened the gear compartment because the first is making weird noises in the car. Every time I open it the gear is dry and there are oil-plastic paste(shown in pic) covering the inner part of the case. I usually clean it and reapply grease when this happens.

Now, sometimes the plastic gear is not touching the pinion and the motor spin fast while the rest is doing nothing.

Could I reposition the motor so that the gears touch again or do I have to replace the entire thing.

Tamiya RC Toyota GR Yaris Evangelion Unit-01 Itasha

Driving video:

https://youtu.be/Yx6OmvW3GbU?is

Building the M-05L chassis was easy. Just take care of acquiring a full set of ball bearings first, take note of the supplied correction sheet for servo attachment, and choose your desired wheelbase configuration.

But the bodyshell was quite an undertaking. 7 different colors of Lexan paints: Black, purple, neon green, orange, with white as backing between each color change, silver as the final backing, and smoke for the window tint.

70 (!) stickers had to be carefully cut out from the supplied sticker sheet and meticuously applied on the body. Most of them went into defining the window gaskets, lights and grill. Inner light buckets (non-illuminated though), side mirrors and license plates had to be attached separately.

Finally, I applied some Neon Genesis Evangelion vinyl stickers for the Itasha look.

Driving the M-05L is fun! Quick, turns well and does reverse 180 turns on command.

Wire tuck for the TT02 Type S rally

Did some cleanup for the wires on the new chassis, no more ugly wires (see last photo of how the wires used to be)

I also installed the antenna to maximize the range

Brought the car to a friend for rebound, travel, camber gain, toe setup

My requests for the setup was 0 rear toe, 0 rear camber, -1 front camber, more droop but softer suspension

After I received it, disassembled and reinstalled to the hop up chassis (Hard Type)

Now it doesn’t just look good, but runs surprisingly well!

TT-02 1978 Zakspeed Capri

I just got this finished up and, I've got to say, I think it may be the most badass body tamiya has come out with. Looks sooo good and has made me dive into the Group 5 cars hard.

It was my first TT-02 and built mostly stock with added bearings, cva dampers, and low friction pivot balls.

The decals were something else but, man, Tamiya has those so well engineered that, if you take the time, they fit absolutely perfectly and look incredible.

Is this worth anything?

Found this at a thrift and it’s complete without any parts taken out haha. 1988 I believe. Where do I check what this is worth?

Vintage decal help

Scored a pristine vintage TA02 Alfa 155, but the person who built the kit didnt remove the plastic wrap on the body shell prior to applying decals. I'd like to peel this off and do a proper job, but I dont know where I can find reproduction 90's decal sheets for this car. Any leads before I decide to make my own?

Porsche 962 C Tamiya 1/24

Hello!
I’ve attached some photos of the project I’m currently finishing up. I’ve recently started this racing car modeling hobby and I’m looking for two pieces of advice:
How can I properly secure the decals on the clear parts, since I can't use Tamiya TS-13 on them? Would you recommend using Tamiya Mark Fit for adhesion and then applying Tamiya Modeling Wax over everything?

Would you suggest using Tamiya Panel Line Accent Color (brown or black) in the panel lines to make them stand out?

Please let me know your suggestions and what you think of my work so far. Thanks!

My TOMS and my very first Kyosho

Just finished up my first Kyosho after “just” building a Tamiya Egress. What a joy of a build, was worried as I heard it wasn’t as well instructed as Tamiya but the multiple bags that you finish before moving on to the next one made it really simple.

Took far longer than my Egress mainly sure to how little space you have and trying to get the ESC to fit and a battery that would work. My standard sized shorty which is only 25mm high could fit with almost 0 body clearance, problem came when you wanted to add cables.

I also didn’t fancy doing box art on this one, to my eye the decals are a bit much so went with an Optima inspired colour way and come custom made decals. First time not using Tamiya PS paint, airbrushed it and am about 90% happy with the results, nothing the decals can’t hide anyway.

As for driving it, I’ve only run about half a battery though it on tarmac on non Kyosho tires and I’m super impressed with the handling exp as it doesnt come with anti roll as standard. I’m tempted no to add them after my first run, really controllable rear end. Doesn’t feel as fast as the Egress in my hands, but does feel far more fun controllable to drive.

Quirkhopper stability upgrades

Hi all,

Have a quirkhopper with bearings, oil chocks and a hobbywing ezrun. The wheels are a bit wobbly, and the steering is a bit of play.

Do the aluminium hubs and C connectors tighten it up at all? The stock servo saver also has play which is also contributing to it being a bit of a handful.

Does anyone have experience with GF02 servo savers that are a bit tighter?

Also - the manual says not to glue the tires… but they slip a lot. Is there any reason not to glue them?

DT-04 Pinion

Hi, I have the Nxgen Fighter DT-04 and I'm looking to increase its speed now that I'm used to driving it. What pinion do I need to buy to achieve this? For the record, I'm getting 19mph out of the Torque Tuned motor with ball bearings and a 2s LiPo battery.

My first BMAX build finally completed

Finally finished my first BMAX machine!

Built on an FM-A chassis with a Mach Frame body.
Still learning a lot about tuning and setup, but I’m really happy with how it turned out.
Tried to build something clean, stable and fun to run.

Now it’s time for track testing

Any advice for a first BMAX setup?

Tamiya Dual Rider 2S and brushless

While I loved puttering around my condo with the stock motor and AA batteries with my Dual Rider I wanted to go a bit faster. Its a handful but a ton of fun. I wish there was an on road track near me because I bet this thing would he a hoot on a track. Going to need to glue the tires, accelerated a little to hard and it launches its tires.

[1/24] 300sl Tamiya Gullwing

She’s about 30% done, but she is gorgeous. I may do another one of these in different colors. I didn’t realize this kit was so fun to build.
