Risk Team Got Me Today!

As some of you are aware, Tastytrade no longer offers the option of notifying them that you are monitoring your account.

In the past, if you notified them they would give you some room, sometimes up to 3:45. Today I was told that it has always been their practice,

even if you notified them to close risky positions at 3:30 and if you did not notify them it could be much earlier. Today I was in an out of the money TSLA position that was basically break even and they closed it at EXACTLY 3:30.

I had been watching the charts and FLOW and other information all day. TSLA did exactly what I was expecting. The position was never in the money, even after they closed the contracts they never were in the money. The contacts did however more than double in value at 3:43. I would have closed them before that, but it still would have been at least 50-70% win.

Honestly, the amount I missed out on was less than $1,500 so it's not a huge deal. I was prepared to lose 100% and I only lost about 40%. It just really made me angry. When I called in, the person I spoke with wasn't rude, but they also were not the typical OG TastyTrade level of service. I spoke with Nick, a manger and he couldn't really do much, but he was understanding.

I have placed over 7,000 trades with Tastytrade. Every now and then I run the numbers through AI to find out if it is still the best deal for my trading style. As far as strictly commission numbers go, it is still the best deal, but not by much. It is right at the breaking point with some other brokers. I'm not sure if I would have any better luck elsewhere, but I'm open to suggestions if any of you have any.

Every time they add one more strike against them, it just makes me realize it might be time to change... but maybe not. I do like the platform and many of their traders.

How many Australians have quit options trading

Since no brokerage, including Schwab and IBKR, approves Level 3 or 4 options unless you have a net worth of basically $5 million, you can't really trade options in Australia anymore.

Anyone else haveno choiuce but to quit?

Instant Access Deposits - (bank?) Chase ?? (TD not working)

I have TD Bank. I always had instabt access to deposits of up to $1000, but over the past year or so I no longer do. I contacted support and was told TD (recently switched to or TT changed their rules?) only updates account balance once per day (as opposed to continually?) and so thats why I dont get $1000 fronted to me for trading anymore when I make deposits.

The other major local bank i have had interactions with in the past is Chase.

Does anyone use Chase and have instant access to deposits? I just dont want to open a checking account to deposit money in tastytrade and find out that bank has the same issue.

API users, how are you coping with IP blocks?

My sense is that I just need to abandon all use of the app (desktop and phone) and only access by API if I don't want to be plagued with random account lockouts.

Journaling

I would like to capture trade metrics but have not figured out a way to do. I could grab a screenshot with SnagIt, but that seems clumsy. Is there a way to automate that I have not figured out yet?

Thanks

Tasty allows overnight trading of SPX and RUT options now

I was able to set the trading session to 24 hours and close a trade before the market opened this morning. Anyone know how long they have had this available for SPX and RUT options? I wasn't aware of it until today

The 'Monitoring' option is gone!

The option to notify tastytrade that you are monitoring your positions is no longer available.

Not exactly sure what this means, but I'm guessing positions will be closed out earlier and you don't have the option of letting them know that you're monitoring your own positions.
