With that out of the way, here are the details:

• Cruise line = Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL)
• Ship = Viva (launched 2023)
• Itinerary name = 9 day Greek Isles from Istanbul to Rome
• Dates = 23 June 2027 to 2 July 2027
• Cabin category = SJ - "Family Suite with Master Bedroom and Balcony", on deck 13
• Traveling party = four people in one room, aged 7, 11, 42, 50
• Cost:
  • Base Fare: $27,112
  • + Taxes, port fees $1,480
  • - Promo savings $13,556
  • - Coupon: $500
  • + fee to get said coupon: $250
  • = $14,786 net cost

I realize this is peak season and therefore prices will surely be higher and discounts not as steep. Alas, this is what's available with school-aged kids, sigh. I also realize we're likely paying some premium for a newer ship, and we're fairly OK with that, generally, mostly. Probably?

Anyhow, I'd appreciate your input on if this is a decent deal / value. If there are ways to hack this deal for better value, we'd love to know. Thanks!

I've currently got most funds at Fidelity and their options tools are not up to par, and I'm looking to move funds to either TT or TOS.

I've got a teensy bit of money at TT for some live trades to give it a good evaluation, and I've made plenty of use of the TOS paper money account. I'm having a hell of a time making the decision, since there are things about each platform that I like.

So I'm interested to hear from folks who've settled this decision and even those who still wrestle with it.

(I'll also post the mirror image of this in r/thinkorswim, so for anyone who frequents both subs please forgive the similar post.)

I’m interested in hearing from anyone who has experience with options at Fidelity on how they assess risk and reward when considering a new trade and monitor and manage existing positions. By “manage positions” I mean see the breakevens and expected moves, maybe a profit graph, etc.

I am aware that Fidelity isn’t exactly renowned for their options UI, but I do hear praise on their good fills and I’m otherwise really happy investing with them. All that to say that there’s plenty beyond options that motivates me to stay and even further consolidate to Fidelity. So I’d love to hear how folks with more options experience at Fidelity have managed it.

I’ve traded a tiny bit at Fidelity and moderately more at Schwab (with Think or Swim), TastyTrade, and even a little bit at E*Trade. Tasty and TOS (in that order) are my favorites for their interface and helpful info, though neither are perfect. I hated ATP and I see glimmers of hope with Trader+. As it stands now, I almost feel like I need to duplicate trades in TOS paper trading, which seems a bit nuts.

Anyhow, I’m hoping for some wisdom from this super helpful sub. Thanks in advance for your input!

When Wemby signed his deal last week, many folks (especially in San Antonio) made a big deal about how him taking less than the absolute max possible amount gives the Spurs much greater flexibility to build and maintain a supporting roster. How significant is this in reality? Is this just Spurs fans glazing their star or is it actually a meaningful enabler for the Spurs front office?

I’m interested in opinions on Sire fretless basses, specifically how well the fingerboards hold up with roundwound strings.

I’m considering a M7 fretless, either in a 5 string or 6 string configuration. Any experiences and opinions are much appreciated. TIA!

I’m in Alaska experiencing the summertime “midnight sun” effect for the first time (on summer solstice, no less), and I’m wondering about the effects of this phenomenon on pilots.

I could imagine it wrecking sleep patterns something fierce, and in summertime extended daylight (~20 hours per day) I could imagine pilots pushing themselves harder to fly longer due to more sunlight. At this moment (almost 9PM) I see tourist sightseeing flights departing Juneau, which seems pretty late to start a tour. Do pilots have to pay closer attention to flight hours per day to not be fooled into flying for more time in a day than they should?

I rarely see a fretless + maple fingerboard combo, which got me wondering why. Does anyone have experience with these or know why they’re relatively rare?

Does anyone have any info or (maybe even better) inside tea on whether the Higher Ups are really considering a move from Slack & Zoom to just Teams?

Someone forwarded me a post from the your-voice channel that made it sound kinda official and like it's a done deal, but something about it didn't quite look or sound properly official. Actually, in hindsight the fact that they were making that announcement and requesting feedback was an indicator that maybe someone had gone rogue and was spilling info they weren't supposed to. Since then I saw some other posts that made it seem like maybe it isn't happening.

One thing we can count on: The Big Decision Makers will make their Big Decision in the least transparent, worst communicated, most "IDGAF about the workers" way possible. Important details will be left out and people will have to hunt for info and share it at the grass roots level. Unnecessary details will be dragged on endlessly. You know, the usual USAA way, LOL.

I just hope they make their decision and get on with it, and don't half-ass it. If they're sticking with the 'best of breed' approach and keeping Slack & Zoom, then say that and kill this rumor. If they're going with the 'we're already paying for Teams, why pay Slack and Zoom, too?' approach, then let's get on with it. While they're at it, they should get rid of Box, too - that certainly won't be missed.

Anyhow, I'd be interested to hear if anyone's got info on how this is going down.
