free Pokemon TCG pack opening sim — 51 vintage sets, 5,893 cards, no signup or ads

Hey everyone,

Spent the last couple of months building this in my spare time and finally feel okay sharing it: packrip.co

It's a browser sim that lets you rip vintage Pokemon booster packs — every set from Base Set (1999) through Black and White era (2012). 51 sets total, around 5,893 cards. Real holo and reverse-holo effects, pull rates that mirror the actual era's odds, a full collection binder, hunt packs that bias toward a card you pick, daily coin economy, pack dust crafting, a daily login calendar.

No signup, no email, no ads, no install. Works on phone too — actually most people play on mobile. Your binder saves locally and optionally syncs across devices via an anonymous UUID (no account, no PII).

I'm a lifelong WotC-era collector and I made this because I missed the feeling of ripping packs as a kid but didn't want to spend $400 a box chasing a single Crystal Charizard. Started showing it to a few collectors, slowly more people found it, last 28 days about 6,600 strangers have been opening packs on it which is wild to me.

If you grew up on Base Set, Jungle, Fossil, Neo, e-Card era — give it a rip. Would genuinely love feedback on what feels off.

Tips for finding cards in the wild

My 5 year old has been being home cards given as prizes in his pre-k class. This lead to him stating to watch the original series.

Now he wants to find new cards but every time we hit up a store such as Target or Walmart the shelves are empty.

Any tips on finding packs to buy?

[Also, there’s no vending machines in my state(Florida)]

I made Balantix, a browser-only TCG / collector / idle hybrid. Free, no purchases, runs in the tab. I collect cards myself and the thing I've always liked about physical cards is that the specific copy you pull is yours, nobody else has the same one. Tried to capture that feeling in a game.

Every card you pull has its own unique global serial, plus a quality grade (Good through Gem Mint), plus a small chance at a shiny. Legendaries get their own themed treatments per card, so one might be starlit gold and another might have flames licking behind the art. Other holo cards roll a foil pattern + hue that's locked to their serial. Each set has its own atmosphere on top, like caustics drifting under the underwater set or pollen motes in the garden set. The market page shows every pull live, so when someone hits a Gem Mint shiny on a high-end card the whole game sees it.

Around that:

  • Passive tix regen, faster as you upgrade your factory
  • A free daily pack so you can play without grinding
  • Player-to-player trading, no fees, no listings, you negotiate

I've been reading the recent slop / scam threads here so let me get ahead of the obvious stuff:

  • Free. No payments in the app, ever. No premium currency, no Patreon, no donate button on the launch page.
  • No NFTs, no blockchain, no wallet anything.
  • No real money in trades. Trades are cards plus a tix tip, and tix only come from passive regen, opening packs, and event drops in the community Discord.
  • Packs are tuned to be a slight loss in pure salvage terms, so they're priced for collecting, not for tix-farming.
  • Sign-up is just username + password. The Discord link is optional for community + event drops, the game works fine without it.

It's a beta so plenty will keep changing. If you give it a try and have any thoughts, good or bad, I'd love to hear them.

Binder full of fire emblem cards

eBay listing: https://ebay.us/m/7Kx4eJ
Price is negotiable I just needed to write a price down in order to post.

Hi, sorry if this is not the correct sub for this, I tried looking for a tcg exclusive one for fire emblem but nothing came up.

I have a binder FULL of fire emblem cards with characters from fates, awakening, three houses, and heroes. There are many dupes of some of the cards.

I was wondering if anyone would want to buy it off me? Or if they knew someone that would be interested? I’m unsure how to go about selling this collection as idk individual prices for cards or anything.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

These cards are all in japanese, I had collected them for the art.

If you want pictures of all the cards I will gladly do so! Prob will under this post!

Going through old cards and found something strange 1st Edition Dark Dugtrio (23/82)

Going through my old binder I've had since the 90's and early 2000's. I'm scanning all of my cards on HoloDex, and I scanned my Dark Dugtrio (exact description above) and noticed that #23 is a non-holo card while #6 (I also have) is a holo card. I've looked online, through images, ebay, etc. and I can't find another example of a #23 holo. Is this a rare misprint? I'm curious on what the community thinks about this. From what I remember growing up, my dad and I pulled every card in our collection out of packs/boxes my dad would buy. So, we never, if rarely, bought singles/second hand, so I'm pretty sure this isnt a fake.

Any thoughts?

I’m new to Yu Gi Oh - can someone please tell me if this is a secret rare or starlight rare?

This is my second time getting a set. I’m having a bit of difficulty discerning if this is a secret rare or starlight rare, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Want to hear a couple of opinion from people who collect card.

I have 2 promo card from Hololive OCG of my 2 favorite Vtuber, and both of the card are closed in the original plastic envelope, do you guys will keep it like this, or get graded, means open the envelope?
Not for selling, of course, wanna say it before any misconception. Paid a lot for that 2 card, because I was planning on making a wall display with that 2 card and other cards from other games that have a “signed card” feature, like Weiss, but in the original envelope I can’t really put in any case without looking weird.

So I wanna hear your opinion!

Any tips on selling my entire collection?

My collection has grown substantially over the last couple years mainly due to the excitement of opening packs. It has turned more into a gambling addiction and I want to step away from it. Any tips on how I should go about selling my entire collection? It’s valued at about $10,000 on my rare candy app.

New collector here! I’ve nearly finished collecting every Crown Zenith card, but…

hello! so Im about ten cards away from having every card in the CZ list, including GG. once I have them all, is that considered a complete set finished? or are there other cards still under the CZ banner I would need to include? also how common is it was people to be collecting full sets, most people I see collect themed binders, cards of value etc, thanks! :)
