Outsider here, curious about this game and what keeps you coming back to it

I played TLOU1 a few months after release, appreciated same aspects for which it deservedly got a lot of praise for, but it's nowhere near a personal favorite and I never played the MP or TLOU2.

That being said, I am aware that since the original release there is a small but consistent dedicated fanbase around this multiplayer mode. It reminds me of Metal Gear Online 2 and Uncharted 3 which had the same for years, and still do.

I read on some threads that TLOU Factions has some very unique mechanics but looking at gameplay, it looks like the most run of the mill 3rd person shooter (not saying that it is) though I know resources/looting is also some aspect of it(?) iirc.

Since I've never played it and don't understand any intricacies looking at some gameplay, can you guys explain just what it is about this game that sets it apart? I'm genuinely curious, any replies are much appreciated

Tips for getting the most out of the launcher?

After watching some montages i realise I still have not master the launcher.

Do any launcher veterans have any input?

What are your best tips on using it?

Which is best troll weapon in your opinion

For me its a hard choice between the launcher or crossbow but lately I have to go with crossbow + hawk eye 2 cus its less effort less set up but way more entertaining watching the scramble while wincing in pain and marking them for that extra few seconds to stress them out even more.

Cover splash thingy FYI

Saw some confusion about the splash effect in listen mode when not using covert and touching cover. For anybody that doesn't know, touching the wall/cover and having your animation move while looking around while touching the cover causes a splash effect. If you want to avoid this, stand off the cover and the effect won't happen.

Video is taken from the same match on two different accounts on two different consoles. Both consoles were on the same network so latency shouldn't play any part. Please take note of the match timer and when the splashes occur when comparing the other POV.

2 questions on listen mode

First off and I am anxious if Please someone can finally put this 1st question to rest..

  1. Is it possible to stay invisible in listen mode without covertraining i know the infamous "footsplashes" happen but ime this is inconclusive sometimes when staying still you can see them and other times I have managed to stay hidden for over 5 minutes during last man standing. I wonder if pushing the analog stick slightly forward instead of all the way affects it? Does crouching make a difference instead of standing?

  2. Does anyone have a full list of every action or move that makes you visible in listen mode along with the range, for example I believe a sprinting enemy can be seen at a greater distance in listen mode instead of walking.

And before anyone asks yes.. I have seen nickehs video and it did not fully answer these questions although it did help.

Peace

Help a fellow Factions player

If you guys know the player MarkeRekraM, he’s going to be going under the knife for some surgery soon and could really use some financial help while he’s in recovery.

If you don’t know him, he’s a super awesome dude, and a longtime factions player. You can learn more about his situation through the go fund me link.

Even a few bucks would help. Let’s help out a member of our community!

I have 4.5K hours on this game and I'm playing after a year and I can say this with certainty that the cheating in this game is one the worsts .

There's someone with some kind of controller doing something in every match , it's unbelievable, wall shooting , rapid fire , damn I'm not sure I think some can even kick you off the match if you don't behave! ( is this really possible?). How can you tolerate this ? I was playing so good in a match today and after 9 headshots with Hunting Rifle someone named temp###### started shooting me through walls and I lost the match with 14 downs .

I understand jack of all trades now

Using this loadout

Revolver, Double Barrel

JOAT2, Awareness 1, and Fortitude 1

Played a couple matches and realized that honestly it helps a lot if you do a bunch of stuff instead of trying to do one thing, I can survive easier (especially crossbows with second chance), reduce time spent doing tasks (reviving and crafting), know where enemies might be and if they see me and keeping my ammo count up. It just works and it's so wonderous, takes getting used to though

Returning to Factions

Hi all, old Ps3 era factions player here. Used to spend way too much time on the game, but haven't played since the ps3 servers shut down. Is there still an active community on ps4 and ps5? Which is the most active? Looking to buy a new console to start playing again. Thanks!
