I (28F) was invited by a japanese friend (30F) to a matching party/machikon (街コンパーティ) and we're going together with two of her friends this week. We've been friends for over a year and she seemed very eager to bring me to this event when we first became friends but I didn't go back then.

It seems interesting and a legit fancy place in Tokyo but the website has no reviews or pictures so I was wondering if anyone has ever been to an event like this and would like to share your experience or opinions!

As per eagerly requested by my friends, I(25M)'m planning to throw a reading group hangout slash body-doubling party, most likely sometimes next weekend. Venue wise I've got another friend who has been very kind as to allow me to use his fantastic community space in Waseda. There are many possibilities in terms of what you can do in this hangout like:

- Reading, of course

- Sorting out your todos and tasks

- Handicrafts

- Request songs to play in the background, kareoke style

- Playing musical instruments, we've got an e-keyboard and an e-guitar

- Making new friends, chatting, while enjoying light refreshments like chips and soda

- Really the possibilities are endless, how it eventually goes is ultimately up to y'all

The vibe is mostly chilled and introverted friendly, feel free to be yourself!

If this goes well then I plan to organize it regularly. I've got a discord group and a line group being set up for this purpose so if you would like to join, please also let me know.

My wife and I are visiting Tokyo as part of our first-time, month-long trip through Asia. We live in Miami and are both in our mid-30s.

Beyond the usual daytime sightseeing, we’d love to experience Tokyo’s nightlife scene, especially nightclubs, late-night bars, lounges, music venues, and any areas that are fun after dark.

Coming from Miami, we’re no strangers to partying until the morning, so we’re looking for recommendations on places where we can have a genuinely great night out.

Any recommendations are appreciated!

We’re also open to meeting up with other fun, social, party-friendly people while we’re in Tokyo, whether that’s for drinks, clubbing, or exploring the nightlife together.
