id rate it a 7/10.

my problems with it:

the virtual fence is WAY too big. i try to put my entire house and yard in the virtual fence (and its a big house btw) and it says "too small" which i hate. i had to put a bunch of no go zones around the house

also the tracker doesnt work when my dog is in the house (i also cant put power saving mode cause it doesnt see my wifi network) and when my dog is inside it sends a thousand notifs like 'entered the virtual fence/left the safe zone/ is in a no go zone' WHILE my dog is inside the house and it makes me anxious to see those notifications. (dont say why do i need to track her when shes in the house btw. i dont live with her so i get all those notifs and worry, turns out she was inside the whole time. plus if i cant find her in the house it would be useful.)

also the battery drained like 60% in 2 days.

the sound it can play should be louder! it's barely heard.

things i love about it:

the light feature and the tracking when my dog is outside!

im sad that i spent like 53 euros to have that many problems with it. but if your dog is mostly outside buy it!

Instructions for 6 Mini say to fit ‘around your cat’s neck with the tracker on top (not underneath)’

- My cat’s one keeps rotating and ends up pointing downwards (underneath) because the collar’s weight itself and gravity! Only way to keep it on top would be to over tight it but wouldnt be comfy for the cat

- for GPS: how does it affect if it stays pointing down?

- for Heart rate: does the position affects the readings (like heart track watches in humans) or can the sensor work from any circular position?

both trackers set up to power saving wifi network... after 10 minutes I unplug the wifi router... and even after 20-25 minutes the trackers still show as in the power save area and connected to the wifi... so must mean they are not checking wifi every 1.5 minutes as advertised. how to fix this?

A few months ago, while walking my two huskies at 2 am, I fell and dropped the leashes and they were off. I could track them, but couldn't catch up with them. I eventually called an Uber and we caught up with them. Then I used Uber Pets to get them home. Their trackers worked great -- for over 4 hours. But if you really need to use your tracker to find your pet, please make sure you have the means to both catch up to them and get them home.

I just received a notification from Tractive that my dog’s resting respiratory rate is elevated. We have an upcoming appointment with the vet so I’ll definitely bring this up. This is going to be our first summer with Tractive so just to eliminate the easiest reason, I was curious if this is a common thing to happen to dogs when it gets hot outside? She’s a double coated Samoyed so she definitely gets impacted by the warmer weather, though we have a central AC and it’s set for 20-21 degrees both in summer and in winter so the indoor temperature is very consistent in the house all seasons. If you have been using Tractive for multiple years, have you received this notification in the beginning of Summer previously?

Hey, I recently pre ordered the new Mini 6.

I have read we can't set GPS intervals ?

Is this true customisable setting would be great so that we can ping it when we need it and have a 2 hour ping update.

The site states 5 days battery but everywhere I look people are getting sub 2 days, is there some setting we can tweak to extend the battery life.

I don't need to know where my cat has been, I need to know where my cat is when he has not come back.

It would be great if the Bluetooth on the tracker worked like an Air Tag or Chipolo to save battery and update if it pings off a nearby phone and then we could manually update GPS only when we really need it.

Having live GPS tracking is great but cats can go wandering for 2+ weeks and afew days is really not going to cut the mustard when there is a whole bunch of other gimmick features running.

I don't need activity tracking or heart rate or sleep tracking.

Can we turn all this off and solely use it as and when we need it.

All the features are nice to have, but people by trackers so they can find lost pets not because the pet wanted an apple watch.

After reading several posts on Reddit and various other places it seems that the team is focused on selling gimmicky app stuff as opposed to core concentration on TRACKING READY FOR WHEN YOU NEED IT ! Especially with cats !

No fancy app features No sleep tracking No activity tracking No calories burnt

Just Track with BT to conserve battery or within WiFi when you are not manually requesting a GPS fix / live mode

Hi all! Looking for recommendations for those who have used the cat tractive on small dogs? Can you change the features for barking etc? Is it worth waiting for the new one?

Also thoughts and opinions on the old collar vs the new one I see people complaining on here about errors but my Tractive collar the old version was 100% accurate and durable. I just lost it and didn’t have Tractive care at the time of loss. So I’m purchasing this new model. I noticed it has a slower water resistance like it can be submerged for roughly ~30m under testing conditions and pass which makes me worry if my dog is swimming for over an hour it’s best to just keep it entirely off but what if I’m also in an area where I may want to track them. Has anyone noticed good durability and water resistance from their dog 6 new standard model rather then the previous model which had a fully waterproof base model.

Is the new model better functionally, durability wise or less or more reliable and accurate. Does it bring more worth while features to the table making it worth an upgrade if you were comparing and do they still make the old model to purchase out of curiosity?

I’m considering upgrading to the cat 6 mini for one or both of my cats. How is it with tracking accuracy? Is it better, worse, or the same as the previous version? My cat Miko is maybe a pound over the suggested weight of the new tracker but I think it should still work for him.
