Trimui Brick 🧱 - Portmaster- Dead Cells
Hello gamers, Im using Knulli Gladiator 2 on the Trimui Brick running Portmaster Dead Cells.

Hello gamers, Im using Knulli Gladiator 2 on the Trimui Brick running Portmaster Dead Cells.
Hi, my TrimUI Brick GBA keeps stuttering and having choppy audio on NextUI. I'm using the gpSP core with the official gba_bios.bin (recognized as Original BIOS). I have already tried enabling Frameskip (Auto/Threshold), turning off all Shaders, and ensuring Dynamic Recompiler is on, but nothing helps. Turing off WiFi does not help too. Any suggestions? 🙁
I thought Would try to get into retro emulation stuff again, and the TrimUI brick is my only handheld. I wanted to install PakUI because it looked neat, so I followed a tutorial. When I tried to start it, it was stuck on the MinUI (yes, I installed MinUI way before this) boot logo. I had heard about some sort of limbo state but after some research it seems to be a different issue. I remember trying to install PakUI a while ago and an odd graphical glitch happening when I tried to boot up the TrimUI, but my memory is foggy. I have tried reinstalling PakUI on other SD cards, reinstalling the original/stock OS, restarting it a lot, IDK man. I have gotten closer, now when i hold Vol- and POWER at the same time to restart it the MinUI logo pops up, then the loading screen appears for a second, and it shuts down again and repeats. I don't really know how to explain it....
Brick Hammer. Not sure if it's a placebo or bad memory but I feel like the latest update of Knulli (Scarab) has tanked my battery. Especially playing GBA games. A 20 minute session of Advance Wars and I'm seeing it drop 15-20% which I'm sure never used to happen.
I could just roll back to Gladiator II but I see so much hype around NextUI in this sub and figured now is as good a time as any to give it a try. Thought I'd ask whilst I wait for my device to charge some more and begin looking at the transfer - those of you who have experienced both, what would you say are some not so obvious differences between the two firmwares? Anything Knulli does that you wish NextUI did and vice-versa? Main systems I play are GBA, PS1, and some SNES or Mega Drive.
I'm particularly keen on the UI looking good. I like having Box Art and somewhat enjoy just browsing through the menu to look through the games in general. I suppose another question I have is will all of my existing scraped media transfer easily from Knulli to NextUI if I transfer it off the card before I reformat, then back on?
Thanks!
Hi all,
I am thinking about getting a Trimui Brick. I have been using the RG35XX Plus for a long time, and it has been an amazing handheld that fully covers my portable gaming needs!
If you have experience with both devices, please share your top 3 reasons to choose the Trimui Brick over the RG35XX Plus. You can skip the “better screen” part - that is already obvious. I am more interested in real-world daily use experience.
I mostly play PS1 with 2x upscale and multiple shaders on Knulli, and performance has been very stable for me.
Thanks ✨
Trimui Brick - Purple came in the mail and I took it straight to the hills. This tiny little thing is bringing me so much joy. Playing through my favourite gba titles. Kirby: nightmare in dreamland is a delight.
I ordered my Smart Pro S today. I checked for CFW‘s, but it seems most of them are still missing features and are in development. While NextUI is missing Drastic Emulator for Nintendo DS Games, I checked Knulli. It has a new Alpha Build of Knulli Scarab released for free.
Anyone tried this Alpha Build out? What Features are missing, what issues are you run into?
I wanted to show Pokemon Gold to my kids and when the game loaded I got this white screen. If I remove the memory card and restart the Brick it works but I cannot just force a shutdown, it will shutdown forever. Then I can insert the SD card and play a game. But if the game closes or the brick loses battery, I'm back to this white screen.
And Pokemon Gold is off limit, it will trigger the white screen automatically.
I have a SanDisk Ultra SD card with Surwish CrossMix OS.
Did anyone encounter this problem and was able to fix it?
Should I just buy a new SD card and learn how to install an OS and games on it?
This is still an early-stage version with bugs, not playable yet. You can notice a performance improvement compared to ScummVM version.
whats the best way to try and replicate a gba screen? just wondering what everyone uses. o see overlays, shaders and a grid option. also using nextUI
Finally pulled the trigger and went with the Brick Hammer! Got a vacation this week and want to bring this for the plane to pass the time. NextUI is what I see a lot of people using. This is my first handheld that I will be adding games to. What’s the best guide to follow to get it set up?
Hello! Good afternoon. New Trimui owner here. I recently purchased a Trimui thru Lazada, an online shopping app here in the Philippines.
The unit that I got is the one with the sd card, loaded with games mostly chinese/japanese language.
Is there a way I can change the language of the games? Or if not, can you recommend any online sellers of sd card with games with english language? It has been a month and my unit has been in the storage.
Hoping to hear from all the other fellow gamers here. Thank you!
As the title says. Is this standard? I got it from a shop sincey country doesn't get shipping. The problem is that it doesn't boot, i left it for an hour and it's still stuck with this screen. And I can't return it since they won't accept. Any idea what's going on here. Im new to all this and this is my first retro Device.
Bought a Brick on eBay with Next UI installed, can’t find the pak store anywhere in the menus, even after turning on WiFi. I can’t find any way to update OTA either. Can anyone help?
Edit: got it!
I’ve gotten this far, but where do I go from here? Is there some sort of a keyboard? How do I use Splore? (NextUI)
It's terrifying outside, I'm locked in, unable to go outside. There's a violent storm, branches are flying, and the sea is raging. I decided to check out the game Barrel Roll (Portmaster)
Got a clear case from the TrimUI website to further protect the brink (not hammer) while it rides in my pocket
