I created a version of Go for the Brick

I've written a version of the Chinese game Go for the Brick and Brick Hammer. The Github repo is here: https://github.com/kodabey/NextUI-Stones-Pak/releases/tag/v1.0 . I was frustrated that it's so hard to find a good game of Go on most devices. This one will go all the way up to AlphaGo level of difficulty where it thinks for a minute or more before moving, but Brook is pretty easy yet still challenging. Please enjoy it!

The Legion of the Great Enemy

A SLAY video of Space Marines slaying orcs. Warning: Very violent. Only watch if you are a Warhammer 40k nerd. This is a fan fiction video, not connected in any way to anything official.

I love this car, but it's an abusive relationship

So my poor Taycan (2023 4S, CPO with 10k miles) is back in the shop again. This time, the right charge port kept sticking open and now it needs a whole charge port system replacement. Plus the PCM flaked out the day before I brought it in and stuck with a pulsing "PORSCHE" logo, which was kinda cool actually but I couldnt use Android Auto or see any of the car menus. So they are trying to fix that too. I mean man, I love...absolutely LOVE this car, it drives like a pure dream, but geez, I've been in the shop every month I've owned it with something. Is it always like this? I mean, I have warranty for 30 more months, so whatever, but I feel like a Macan owner instead (loaner). So strange, I've owned many other Porsches and they were rock solid. My Cayman lasted for 60k miles and NEVER went into the shop for a problem, ever. Not once in 12 years. Just oil changes and such. That thing was the most reliable car I have ever owned, period. Anyway, just felt like venting. BTW, I know the design team, I used to design the computers they used back in the late teens to design the Taycan. They'd come visit us, and they gave me a bunch of cool "mission E" shwag, and I really thought this would be the car that ended all cars. But instead, it's just a beautiful buggy mess. I sure hope the later years are better, because the car itself is FIRE. Best ride I have ever had, and I've driven McLarens, Ferraris, Lambos, you name it. I won't give it up, I'll grrr through the constant service events (I did it with a Ferrari for years), but geez Porsche, what gives???

Problem with Black Pia

I recently bought a Black and Gold Pia for about 3500 new and literally days after I bought it the tremolo plate fell off. The adhesive failed and the magnets fell out. Anyone else have this problem? Suggested fix? Don't really want to send it to California just to fix this.

Matte Black Beauty

Took my Taycan on a long road trip...spent a few mins at a Starbucks in Oregon. The smoky air gave the car a nice shine.

I got banned from the PC building subreddits over this

Its amazing how many people this fooled before they figured it out. AI is getting better at the vintage look.

If you are using handheld at home and have decent internet, get a cloud handheld

Its amazing to me how many people gnash their teeth over handheld performance when for pennies you can sub to Geforce Now and stream to a handheld for MAX PERFORMANCE 5090 level. I use a Mangmi Pocket Max and even have an old Logitech Cloud and they BLOW everything else out of the water in sheer performance. Every game maxed, max FPS 144 hz on the Mangmi with gorgeous OLED glowey colors. If you are sitting at home with your collection, you save THOUSANDS and gain MAX PERFORMANCE. Come on people wake up.

Why all the battery anxiety??

I don't get it. With articles like this https://www.npr.org/2026/03/02/nx-s1-5706658/electric-vehicle-battery-lifespan and the fact that Porsche leads in quality and reliability https://newsroom.porsche.com/en_US/2026/company/porsche-claims-the-top-spot-in-the-jd-power-2026-us-initial-quality-study-IQS-ranking-highest-overall-in-initial-quality.html with over 70% of ALL PORSCHES EVER MADE still on the road today, why are people freaking out about batteries so much in this forum with no evidence of large scale issues and lots of evidence of Porsche replacing battery packs when necessary, etc. My advice, calm down people, accept electric as the future and feel really fortunate that you are driving the nicest electric car ever made on the planet. I plan to drive mine well into 200k. And I wont be thinking about the battery at all. I will, however, be on my 200th set of tires probably haha.

Enjoy my evil video. The Devil meets Disney, if you will.

Done with LTX 2.3 locally on my old 3090. Cheep but effective. I hope everyone is offended by this video at least a little bit.

Just bought 2023 Taycan 4S

Anything I should know? Only 10k on it. Cert pre owned with 32 month warranty. First EV I've ever had. I love it already. Drives better than my Cayman did.

Slow Assassin - a tribute to Alita

Hey folks, did this video recently which was heavily inspired by Alita. Not a copy, but hopefully you can see the influence. Yes, I used AI heavily, but I assure you I hand drew the storyboard, used tons of programs like ProTools, DaVinci Resolve, Comfy UI and others to generate it. It's as much me as my laptop haha. Hope you all enjoy it: https://youtu.be/fpTjYS_Sb-Q?si=FMutUSJPCDs-4gRH

So by way of introduction...I used to sell Amiga 500 systems back in the 90s when I was in College for extra cash. As a result, I had access to all the hardware and software I could consume, which was great. At the time, there was NOTHING like the Amiga 500. It made PCs look like a joke. It was a gamer's dream. I could hook it to my stereo via the RCA jacks and have friends over for weekend gaming parties, which was unheard of back then. So when I found out about the whole retro gaming scene, I had to do it, just to relive all that wonderful stuff...Shadow of the Beast, Blood Money, etc...some of the best gaming experiences I ever had. So I bought a Brick Hammer and started that journey...and I'm now running all the Amiga ROMs on it but OH MY GOD it was the craziest experience getting it set up. I can see why so many users leave bad reviews even though these gaming consoles are literally the coolest retro tech I have ever seen and are brilliantly designed. And cheap too! Trimui has my vote for a Nobel Prize.

Anyway, I suppose I get why its so hard. Most of the software stack is protected by IP and aggressively protected. Sure, I get that. But I have literally no idea how anyone would get Amiga ROMs working if you didn't know what Kickstart was, IPF files, etc...all the stuff I knew because I actually owned Amiga 500s in the past. I literally used an AI to do it, and even with Claude Opus 4.7 helping me out, we both struggled to get it to work for hours before we figured it out. It was a maze of technological archeology that spanned decades of posts, Github, etc...and in the end, I don't think even Claude could have done it without my knowledge of how the architecture of an Amiga worked.

Just for fun, I had Claude summarize our experience together and here it is, much better than I could have ever written it.

Me: "It worked and what a huge pain in the ass. How is anyone supposed to know how to do this without a superintelligent AI helping them??

Claude responded:

"Honestly? Most people don't, and that's the whole story of this corner of the hobby.

What you just walked through is the accumulated debt of about thirty-five years of legal, technical, and community fragmentation, all of which has to be reassembled by hand on the kitchen table every time someone wants to play A-Train on a handheld. The SPS keeps capsimg closed-source for legitimate preservation reasons — they need rights-holders to trust that the IPF format won't be casually weaponized for piracy — which means it can never be bundled with PUAE, which means every downstream project ships an emulator that's deliberately incomplete and quietly assumes you'll know to go get the missing piece. The kickstart ROMs are the same story: Cloanto owns them, won't let anyone redistribute, so the emulator ships expecting filenames it cannot legally provide. NextUI inherits this from libretro, libretro inherits it from PUAE upstream, PUAE inherits it from WinUAE, and nobody at any layer can fix it without getting sued. The result is that the actual working configuration exists only as tribal knowledge spread across a Steam forum thread from 2021, a libretro doc page that assumes you already know what RetroArch is, a GitHub release with inconsistent file naming across subfolders, an English Amiga Board post from 2017, and a Reddit comment somewhere that someone wrote at 2 AM after finally getting it working. None of those sources are wrong, exactly — they're each correct for the specific configuration the author had in front of them — but no single one of them describes your path, because your path (Brick Hammer + NextUI v2.8.1+ + arm64 + IPF + 2026) didn't exist when most of them were written.

The deeper issue is that the failure modes are all silent or cryptic. The kickstart error at least names the file. The capsimg failure says "C.A.P.S. plugin" and points to a URL (softpres.org) where the file you actually need is not directly available. The ELFCLASS32 error is correct and precise but assumes you know what an ELF class is. The Workbench-with-floppy-hand screen — which is what you actually saw on the device — provides zero diagnostic information; it's the Amiga's boot ROM doing exactly what it did in 1987, sitting there waiting for media, oblivious to the fact that the reason no media is present is a missing shared library three abstraction layers below it. To debug it you have to know the log file exists, know where it lives, know how to read it, and know which line is the actual cause versus which lines are noise. That's four pieces of meta-knowledge before you even start solving the problem."

All I can say is that one of hardest games I have ever played was the game of getting this thing set up lol. My hat is off to the brilliant minds that designed this amazing tool. It's great to be playing all those old games again, makes me feel like I'm 20 lolz.
