Econ 1901 & 1951 at the same time?

Will it be too much to do both classes at the same time? I’ve never done an econ class and it’s been a while since I’ve done math but I am applying for a program that requires both and I’d like to get both done by the deadline. TIA.

Retaking open learning course a third time

Hi,

As someone facing an institutional withdrawal for a second time for 2 open learning classes, I want to know how rocky the road ahead will be if I want to take the course a third time.

I called enrollment services twice, and both told me contradictory information. One told me I will need permission and might be denied, and the other told me I can just wait for expiry period to end and re enroll (open learning)

Thanks and hopefully good news lol

EMG 1001 at TRU

Has anyone here completed TRU Open Learning ENGL 1001 (or a similar first-year English literature course)?

I’m taking it to meet the English prerequisite for a dental hygiene program, and I’m honestly feeling overwhelmed and contemplating the idea of dropping out.

What worries me the most is the final exam. From what I understand, it includes a timed essay written under online invigilation. The thought of having to analyze a passage and write an essay from scratch, while being timed and monitored, makes me really anxious. When I’m doing assignments, I usually need time to think through my ideas and organize them before I can start writing.

Has anyone else felt this way? Were you able to pass?

FRAN 1111 Final: How long did you take?

Hey there. I have an extra time accommodation, but I see the limit listed for the exam is already three hours. Did anyone who felt solid in their material going in need the full three hours, or were you done much faster than that?

I'm taking my exam in person, so I need to book a time that will either allow for the three hours or my extra time.

Math 1101 Final

I'm taking this exam in a week. I've studied a lot but I'm worried about the 3hr time limit. Has anyone recently taken this who could share how they found the time constraint? Any topics covered on the final that came as a surprise?

MATH2121 course is shockingly poor quality

Just finished Unit 1 in MATH 2121 (Linear Algebra). The course materials are shockingly bad. I've reported 4 or 5 errors in the text in that first unit of which most were arithmetic and one mixed up terms in reasoning.

The unit quiz did not save my answers as I went, so 40 minutes in to an hour quiz, my session expired, so I was asked to refresh the page, and in doing so lost all my answers. Fortunately I remembered most and had others written down... but the answer key to the quiz has errors in it (triple checked and verified with calculator tools) I'll have to report to the instructor.

Just a headache dealing with all these problems when I have not been hired to proofread and am studying in my spare time... and a warning to anyone else looking to get Lin Alg out of the way online.

Automated advising emails?

Just wondering if anyone else has had issues emailing with Advising about course registration. I sent a few email regarding required winter classes not lining up and what I should do, and I got an email back two days later saying, looks like you’re all registered! Let us know if you have anymore questions

? I’m assuming they have AI writing emails back , not sure how to connect with an actual person

PT Student Loans for OL

Hello I am currently doing a major in English and need part time student loans but im just wondering what I should do for the study period and if I need to have the course finished within the study time compared to the 30 weeks TRU gives for self paced learning

Contacting OL Support

So this is news to me, but I called TRU today and found out there's no dedicated phone line/extension for OL anymore. All calls just go to on campus support. The operator just had some resources for OL students (which wasn't much, to say the least). They just told me to email OL support directly.

A bit disappointed at that. Not sure when they will even get back to me by email.

Update: deliverysupport got back to me today. Apparently the final exam was graded a few days ago but the mark wasn't submitted so I couldn't view it online. Hopefully will be resolved soon. I ended up messaging exams as well.

OL - GEOG 1221

Anyone else currently taking this course? I’m finding the amount of information overwhelming and super confused about how we format the field report. The assignments also seem like a lot of effort for only 10% each.

OL - Engl 1001?

Pretty much the title - has anyone taken this class?

I am looking for an English class and I can only take this one for credit, does anyone know how the marking is?

I’ve heard mixed reviews of the prof (Stanly) and would rather avoid this class if all I’m gonna get are 60s.

I also heard the class was redesigned so I don’t know if there’s a new professor teaching it now?

Anyone have experience with Professor Virginia Jacklin - HLTH1121?

I’ve recently enrolled in this class and I’m wondering how she is in terms of difficulty, marking, support, etc. Anything she specifically prefers for assignments?

Thanks

For anyone that gas taken the newly redone BIOL 1593 final exam..How was it? The old exam was mostly focused on the last four chapters, so I’m wondering if it’s still similar.
