This girl is my first betta fish and honestly just wanted to show off how playful and silly she is... You can clearly see she realized I was watching her at the end and she perks up. Still can't believe how sentient and intelligent these fish are and they STILL are still being sold in pathetic cups and left to die horrifying deaths in the hands of people who think they're "just a fish". I hope things will change and more and more people become educated on keeping these amazing pets.

Y'all were so incredibly kind on my post from Zero's gotcha day and his transformation. We're ready for bed (he's tucking in) and we both appreciate the love! My boy's journey has been a beautiful sight! I'll post his glow up in the replies!

I could go on for days about how much Zero means to me. I found him missing almost his whole tail and knowing full well that he very likely wouldn't be chosen. I went back for him and he's been a joy ever since. with his shy but curious and sweet personality, despite being afraid of his own shadow, he has always persevered and healed beautifully. he's a needed reminder that we can heal from things we think we won't. to quote Joe Dirt, you gotta keep on keepin on. we believe in you 🫶🏻

He lives in a floating pothos treehouse and sleeps in a little tube near the surface.

Last night his house fell down three times.

This morning he checked that the repairs were holding and immediately went back to bed.
