Anyone know why Belden gets so many power outages?

I don't know what it is about this place that makes the power go out almost every week, sometimes multiple times a week. Its always this one region in Belden as well, the area with Boggan Estates and FedEx. Today the power surged big time before cutting out so I'm worried I might end up with fried electronics as well someday. Im not sure if its due to the airport or military base doing something weird, but its just ridiculous and frankly unacceptable to have a power grid this fragile.

That weather came out of nowhere

Everyone good?

Power has been out for a little while here. Got to see a transformer arc and blow on butler just before I got to it. Decided to find a different route around, had to drive around some branches. Looks like it's all done now, thankfully.

Plumber recommendations in Tupelo?

We are semi-new to the Tupelo area and are looking for a reputable and reasonably priced plumber to come troubleshoot a low flow issue we have. Do y’all have any recommendations?

One-time public shower options? Or anyone willing to let me use their shower for $20?

I’m riding a bike up from Columbus tomorrow and will spend the afternoon in the area, but I’d really like to shower. Anyone have good recommendations for options where I can pay to shower? I’m thinking gyms, but ideally somewhere my bike would be safe. I’m active duty Air Force, if that opens up any options for me.

Or any chance one of you would be willing to let me into your home for a quick shower? I can be in and out in 10 minutes and won’t make a mess!

Dog foster?

Hi! My sister found a dog that might have been dumped in her neighborhood in Tupelo. She's been trying to find the owner but the dog doesn't have a chip and no tags. She's posted about it on FB and checked in the neighborhood and called the humane society to see if anyone reported a missing dog. The dog *did* have an extremely tight collar on which had to be cut off. She has a flight for this weekend to visit me in Nashville and is really in a bind with this dog. I'm just checking to see if anyone would be interested in fostering this dog for the weekend? I can send more info if interested! Thanks!

OBGYN Recommendation

Hi Ya’ll,

Recently moved to town and in need of establishing care with a new OB here. Would love recommendations for doctors you had good experiences with throughout your pregnancy journeys and delivery. Someone detail oriented, doesn’t dismiss their patients and that doesn’t rush the delivery process when it’s time. Just a nervous first time mom here, would love to feel confident in my physician and all I can find online in reviews hasn’t been the best.

Appreciate your time a ton!

Looking for Historian/Genealogist for Rhyne Family in Itawamba County

I'm visiting Tupelo next month and am hoping to find a historian/local personal who can tell me a bit about the region in the mid 1800s.

The background: My 4th Great Grandfather, Jacob Rhyne, moved his (second) family from Georgia to Mississippi around 1839. They lived around Priceville. My 3rd Great Grandfather Henry Rhyne was made pastor of Enon Baptist Church around 1858. He moved to California in 1870.

I've emailed the Itawamba Historical Society last week but haven't heard back. I've also left messages with the church, but I didn't want to wait too long to cast this wider net in case people have suggestions or ideas.

Additionally, I think Henry Rhyne may have served in Ham's Regiment in the Mississippi Cavalry during the Civil War. If anyone can help me learn more about that, I'll be thrilled.
