Sadly, it's time to say goodbye to sideloading for some Lemmy apps if Google warns you. Have you noti this?
What does this mean?
❌ Your metadata would be stored by electronic service providers - for example messaging and email providers - for up to 12 months.
❌ The government would force these companies to build surveillance capabilities directly into their platforms.
The government calls it “lawful access” but we know that forcing providers to enable access to encrypted data puts EVERYONE'S privacy & security at risk. 😡
Because we know that there is no backdoor for the good guys only!
Help us fight for Canadian's privacy & say no to this surveillance bill.

I am able to send and recieve emails, I actually created this very reddit account using tutamail, recieving a verification code. However, in trying to add a secondary email to my Mozilla account, the verification email never arrives at all. I have checked spam; nothing. I have checked my rejected sender's list, refreshed over and over; nothing. I added fire fox's account support team to my contacts; nothing. I have tried to send the verification code up to 10 times; nothing. I switched to the revolutionary plan from the free plan, tried again; nothing. Fair to say, I am tweaking.
I have sent a support ticket but I am writing this here to know if anyone else is having the same issue.
I am currently migrating from Outlook to Tuta Calendar and have noticed a few minor issues.
In the "To" field for events, it is possible to select a past time. For example, the screenshot shows an event scheduled from 3:00 PM to 1:00 PM, which should not be allowed. While the system does not save this invalid range and automatically adjusts it to 3:00 PM-3:30 PM. Adding a restriction to prevent selecting past times would be a good detail to address, as this behavior differs from Outlook.
Additionally, instead of scrolling through a list of 256 options for event occurrences, it would be more efficient to have a blank input box where I can type the desired number directly. For instance, if I want 50 occurrences, I should not have to scroll to find it. These are not deal breakers as nothing is broken, but I wanted to share my observations in case they are helpful.

So with Canada's Bill C-22 which requires tech companies to provide a backdoor of citizens' digital activity and metadata for a period of a year, I'm wondering what Tuta plans on doing, as this means encrypted emails will no longer be private.
This is an odd situation. There are certain senders sending me emails and I am not getting them. When I gave them my gmail, a few seconds later, I got the email.
I checked my spam and rejected emails and nothing there. What could be the possibility of not receiving emails?
We made one message clear:
Europe must reduce dependence on non-European tech infrastructure. Digital sovereignty means privacy, resilience & democratic control - and strong EU alternatives already exist. Now we need political support, public awareness & procurement that backs European solutions.
Together we can shape the internet of the future!🚀
Just another reason to #DEGOOGLE.
Google has reduced the free default storage for new accounts from 15GB to 5GB UNLESS you verify your account by providing your phone number.
It's time to ditch Google, and switch to an alternative email provider like Tuta Mail - we let you sign up anonymously ❤️ How to create an email address without your phone number 👉https://tuta.com/blog/anonymous-email
While cloud storage with end-to-end encryption is a great idea, I’m concerned that this will make it difficult for Tuta to develop important features, such as editable shared folders for collaborative projects.
I've seen that Tuta drive was also advertised for business so I really hope we can see collaboratives tool in the future.
I’m getting spoofed emails. The same exact one over and over. It has my email as both from and to.
It says that the technical sender is different than the from. So why can’t they just tell me what the actual sender is so I can block them? I’m getting these every day for a month. I don’t want them going to spam, I don’t want to receive them at all!
I have the need (without much traffic on them) to add more than 10 domains. Are there options to buy them add-on or have them added via support for an additional fee? Let’s say like in ultimate for business? Or can I legitimately subscribe to ultimate business plan as a private person? I would not mind the costs or admin features or even 12 month renewals.
Now you can simply click this to reapply any inbox rules you've set up in your encrypted mailbox!
✅ This is especially useful when you import emails and would like to sort them according to your rules.
Enjoy & Happy Saturday❤️
