Were Zant's invading army the Garudo.

Shadow Beasts are made out of people. And it seems they need to be in Twilight to do it. Before the Twili could invade Ordon village, they first wanted to plunge it into Twilight by taking the Spirit Light. This would turn the people into Spirits. The contrasting note here being that Shadow Beasts aren't spirits. So people need to be Spirits before they can become Shadow Beasts. We never see the desert under the curtain of Twilight. But it's safe to assume that the Light Spirit down at Lake Hylia would also have the desert within it's range. Hence why Zant returns there first, to keep the desert and the Mirror of Twilight under Twili control after Link returns the light. Furthermore, there are no Garudo in the desert. And in any timeline where the Garudo reject Ganondorf, he holds a grudge. So he'd want to make them submit. Hyrule Castle is not in Twilight during Zant's invasion. So based on this theory, Zant's army couldn't have been anybody from Castle Town or the Castle. But there's no other settlement between the Mirror of Twilight and Hyrule Castle... unless there was a Garudo settlement, and Zant turned them all into Shadow Beasts.

I drew Ordon Village Link and the town animals

I just recently started a new playthru of the game (Im loving Dusk), love how charismatic the animals are once you get to chat with them as wolf link, so this is my homage to that intro section of the game!

Hope you guys like it!

Dusklight: WARNING, Sky Cannon soft lock still in the game.

I just accidentally saved and quit in the sky cannon room.. Upon reloading I didn’t have the completed sky book in my items anymore so can’t show Shad to move the owl statue in Kakariko sanctuary. Glad I already beat the game before, but just a warning to anyone else playing!

Only just now found out that there are missable letters

Last night, I finally pulled out my Wii console and my GameCube copy of Twilight Princess to get everything going with Dusklight on the PC. One of the first things I noticed is that the port added achievements to the game. I noticed that it said I only had 15 out of 16 letters collected, which got me to do some research, and I only now, for the first time, found out that two of the letters are missable, and I missed one of them. This whole time, since the game was new, I thought I had a perfect save file, but now there's that one, single blemish on it.

Anyway, just a rant. It's not the end of the world, I guess it just means that I'll eventually do a 100% playthrough of my favorite 3D Zelda again, but I still felt like I had the rug pulled out from under me a bit. I'm really not a fan of permanently-missable things in games.

Oh, and Dusklight is absolutely fantastic, holy crap.

Dusklight glitch: enemies become unkillable after clearing Faron Woods

I have this game on GameCube and WiiU, and decided to try the PC port

Everything was going well, I did the tutorial, got the tears of light in Faron Woods, but after the cutscenes in which Link gets his tunic, no matter how many times I hit the enemies, they don't die

I recorded an example with some keese, but it applies to other enemies too

I interviewed two devs behind Dusklight. Here's the article I wrote about it:

The history of Dusklight: a new unofficial port of the classic Zelda title, and a sneak peek into the under-reported world of source ports and decompilation projects.

Haven’t played in 15 years. Saw these 2 & pure rage flooded my veins

Played TP during summer vacation on my cousins farm with no internet or cable, just a Wii and a dream. I’ve forgotten most of it but the SECOND i saw these f**ks in Dusklight I got flooded with memories of me & my cousins all screaming at each other, fighting over the wiimote, and getting stuck here for DAYS 💀 we had to get my uncle to come mediate & barely made it through

What happens if you don't grab the heart piece during the Malo Mart questline?

I'm doing a 3 heart run but I'm unsure if I'll be forced to grab the heart piece you get after carrying the barrel of hot spring water across Hyrule Field during the Malo Mart questline. Additionally, I'm unsure of what happens if you don't grab it (if it even lets you ignore the heart piece in the first place after the goron drops it).

P.S. Wasn't sure if this should be marked as a spoiler or not since it's part of a sidequest, so did so just in case.
