IBEB or uva BEB

I have received offers for both ibeb and beb at uva and I was pretty keen on accepting the offer from erasmus. However, i am not certain i will meet the grade requirement for maths although i dont definitely think i wont. I am wondering whether the difference between IBEB and BEB at uva is that vast. Is ibeb truly that much better and well recognised or are they comparable? If not it makes more sense for me to choose uva as i am fully certain i meet the requirements.

Future admission question

I want to apply for ibeb next year and I have a question about the evalution of gpa. Lets a say two students A and B have the following grades in the first semester of their junior year of highschool in maths: A has a 10/10, while B has 9/10 but in the second semester they both have 10/10. Due to rounding, end of year gpa in my country is 10/10 for both. Will student A be valued more in the admission process or do both students have grades of equivalent value?

SSH Booking Tomorrow 💀 EIH vs Molen vs Hatta?

Hi,

Incoming EUR student here. Tomorrow is the day for SSH housing booking and I’m lowkey stressed.

Done my google research but need the real tea. I'm trying to decide between EIH, Molenwerf, and Hatta.

  • Which one has the best facilities and actual quiet time?
  • What’s the hidden annoying thing about them you only realize after living there? (bad wifi, thin walls, roommate drama?)
  • Are there certain rooms/floors/views that you regret booking?
  • Any golden tips to actually survive the SSH website tomorrow without it crashing? Does refreshing the page at 11:59:59 AM actually work?

Appreciate any unfiltered reviews, especially from EUR students or former SSH tenants. Thanks a lot!!!

EUR acceptance and email

Hi there, sorry my questions might seem silly. But when I received the email admission letter i didn't see any mention of how to accept the offer. For other unis I saw the portal had an opt and they provided detailed offer letter attached to their email. Also, the admission letter email mentions about an EUR email address. Again I'm confused how to activate that. Sorry again if my questions seem very basic and silly. Thanks.

Chances for housing?

I just got an offer for IBEB and I’m genuinely wondering if I should accept it, if I would have gotten it a month a go it would be a no brainer but I’m really worried finding housing now will extremely difficult. Realistically what are my chances for finding housing in Rotterdam for around 700€

Housing question

If I got approved for housing for SSH (through Erasmus Reserved Housing) does it mean I essentially have a room? Or do they approve more applicants than rooms available, and I’ll need to participate in the booking war again? Thanks!

Erasmus International House

Hello everyone. As a future master student at the Rotterdam School of Management the only available building through SSH housing is the Erasmus International House. Looking up online for reviews and it seems horrific! What really scares me the most is not the cleanliness (absent it seems) or the outdated building, but the safety! I read that doors and windows often break (and the help is slow to come) and that there's often weird/dangerous people walking around the hallways! I thought coming to the Netherlands that the higher price for housing also meant higher quality, how can the university put students in these conditions, safety AT LEAST should be the number 1 priority! I don't care about luxury!

On top of that it really baffles me that a building reserved for master students is in such bad conditions! In all other parts of the world the best rooms are reserved master/postgraduate students. I bet they wouldn't have the heart to send the first year 18 year olds in such places, thank God they don't!

Can anyone relate to this?

Free housing in Dordrecht vs commuting to EUR, Is the trade-off worth it?

Hi everyone, I’m an international student starting my Master’s at ESE this September. I have the lucky opportunity to live with some relatives in Dordrecht for free, which is obviously a huge financial relief.

However, I'm trying to figure out the reality of this setup. I’d love to hear from people with direct experience on:

The Commute: How is the daily trip to Campus Woudestein? Is the train/Waterbus reliable enough for a 5-day-a-week schedule?

Social Life: Is it hard to maintain a social life at EUR while living in Dordrecht? Do you feel isolated from the 'Rotterdam student vibe'?

Dordrecht Vibe: Is the city welcoming for international students, or is it strictly a quiet residential area?

Is the 'free rent' worth the 50-60 minute commute, or will I regret not being in a nearby area? Thanks in advance for any insights!

Math

Does my math level affect my ranking as long as i meet the requirements? Like could someone with higher math grades than me surpass me in the rankings? Or is it all about your overall gpa?
