Am I a right person to be a psychotherapist?

Hi everyone!!

I am in college. First year of mechanical engineering. It's not that bad. It's a great feal with lots of jobs and opportunities.

I am not studying as much as I should. That is killing me, I feel so guilty, because it's questionable am I be able to enrol in next academic year. I am not studying with full attention and curiosity, because I have thoughts that I want to safe and help people and become a psychotherapist. I want to study psychology and later some therapy school. I really enjoy reading about all therapy school on the internet.

I think I am a sensitive person and I believe at some point I am naive.

I am questioning: is this the good path for me?

I also have a question: what characteristics a psychotherapist should have?

What are your thoughts?
