Is Hawks Ridge an okay apartment? Incoming employee...

Please be honest! I've heard Hawks Ridge is under new management since the past bad reviews I've read from a few years back. Has anyone lived there recently or know of anyone who has, and could tell me if the move is worth it? Or if there's any other apartments that are conveniently placed near the medical center and Walmart, that'd be great!!! Thank you.

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a leadership opportunity for anyone at the University of Delaware who is passionate about service, public health, or making a real impact in the community.

Hearts for the Homeless International (H4H) is a student-led nonprofit that provides free blood pressure screenings and heart health education to homeless populations across the U.S. and globally. Our team includes undergraduate students, medical students, PhD students, physicians, and other professionals who are committed to improving the well-being of underserved communities.

H4H was originally founded by students at the University of Central Florida and has grown into an international organization with 15+ chapters across the U.S., Brazil, and India. We’re currently looking for motivated student leaders at the University of Delaware who want to start a chapter and serve the growing and often overlooked homeless community.

This is a great opportunity if you’re interested in leadership, medicine, public health, nonprofit work, or community service. We provide guidance, structure, and support — all we ask for is your time, compassion, and willingness to lead.

Our work has been recognized by the U.S. Congress, the Brazilian government, President Clinton, major educational and medical institutions, and organizations such as Forbes. Our students have also led disaster relief efforts for homeless populations during hurricanes and partnered with major companies like Bombas.

If you’re interested in becoming a founding leader and making a difference at the University of Delaware, fill out this interest form:

Panhellenic Cost

I am interested in joining a Panhellenic sorority and was curious if people knew the average cost per semester for them? I don’t want to bother rushing if I can’t afford it. The website says between $300-$2400 which is a huge range and I’m curious what other people have heard or experienced. I am interested in joining one of the smaller or less popular ones if that makes a difference.

Graduation at Carver-Hawkeye Arena

Is it true that attendees cannot bring purses into Carver-Hawkeye Arena for graduation? It has to be a clear, see through bag? My husband saw it online and now can’t find where he read it.

Computer for Incoming Mechanical Engineering Major

Hello! I am an incoming freshman and I will be studying mechanical engineering, is it better to get a computer that runs Mac or Windows? I know there are remote desktops that can be used if I get a Mac but I don’t know how it compares to being already on windows.

Does Housing enforce the 24-hour move out policy?

All the emails and notices say that they "ask students to leave within 24 hours after their last exam," but I don't think it's an official deadline.

I was just wondering because my final exam was yesterday, but I have a job on campus and essay due by the end of the day today. It would just be much easier for me if I could finish the essay, go to work, and leave first thing in the morning rather than 5pm tonight.

Interview

I just completed three rounds of interviews. Went well, good interaction and experience. However, people outside have told me now to be prepared to wait and be let down. Very close to the end of the fiscal year and everything will change over the summer. Have been told to expect to wait, wait and then wait (months).

Am I cooked?

I took way too much this semester and I’m really feeling it right now with finals. I don’t know if it’ll even happen and I’m probably overthinking, but say I am to fail a course that is a prereq for another course that I’m taking next semester in the fall. Could I register for that class over this coming summer after grades are released (3 days after finals week) to try and keep my future schedule intact? Or is it too late by that point? For those curious, it’s Dynamics right now, going into Fluid Mechanics and Control of Mech. Eng. Systems.

Off-campus landlord requiring tenants to show proof of renters insurance. Does anyone have a recommendation for a company from which I can get a basic policy that is affordable?

Thanks in advance for any help.
