Mayflower opinions?

I’m gonna be in college next year and have considered putting mayflower as my top choice because I really like having bigger rooms + having your own kitchen and bathroom as opposed to communal ones. Is the distance from campus really that bad? I’ve seen that it’s fine once you learn the bus routes but sometimes the times can be inaccurate. I’m also worried about the social setting- is it harder to make friends being more secluded from campus than other dorms?

Do I retake?

Disclaimer I know this sub is full of extremes and I really only need an average score- the colleges I’m looking at are just my in state ones that have around an 85% acceptance rate, so I don’t need to raise it to get in. This was my first time taking the ACT and I studied, but I definitely did not study as much as I should have. I don’t have a lot of time to study this summer and I think I could realistically only go up 1-2 points, but do you think retaking would be worth it/would it help get scholarships?

ACT reading tips?

I just took a practice test and got a 28 on the reading, but I wasn’t very strict on the time(took longer than I’d actually get on the test) and I kept feeling like I didn’t have enough time to really comprehend what the text was saying and got confused on the questions. I think my issue is I forget what I read after I’ve just read it, do you think it would be better to just go find the answer to each question in the text instead of reading the passage for 4 min and using the last 6 min for question answering? Any other tips to make this section easier??

Is being a rad tech worth it?

I’m going to be a senior in highschool and am really trying to decide on what I want to go to school for, and I’m trying to look into being a rad tech. It seems like a rewarding job that’s pretty stable, but I can’t tell if it really suits me as a person and if it’s something I’d like. I liked the idea because I think healthcare is very interesting and it’s rewarding to help others, but it’s not as hands on and you don’t deal with as much “gross” things like nurses and doctors do. I also didn’t realize you have to do IV’s for school and if you want to go into CT or MRI(which I’d likely try to switch to later if I become an x ray tech) I have a pretty big fear of IV’s and I’m not sure why, do you think this is something I could get over or it would be worth it to try and get over?

Studying resources?

Hi, does anybody have any good resources to study for the ACT? I’m only taking the english, math, and reading. I still need to actually learn the concepts and I’ve really been struggling to find things that actually teach what you need to know more so than just treating it like review. I haven’t even started reviewing the math or learning new concepts yet, but I tried to learn the grammar rules for the English section and I haven’t found anything that really explains it well or isn’t just a bulleted list. Are there any resources for actually learning those rules so I can apply them to practice tests? I’m taking it on July 11th, but I’m really just trying to get an ok score. Thanks!
