Still waiting for my student visa, I’m on day 14th . When should I expect now? When can I expect my delay email?

Finally got my UK Student Visa, so I thought I’d share my timeline because I know how stressful the waiting period can be. I was constantly checking my emails and worrying about when I’d hear back, so hopefully this helps someone else feel a little more at ease.

My timeline:
📍 VFS location: Bangalore
📝 Application submitted: 29 July
🖐️Biometrics: 4 August
📧 Successful visa email: 19 August
⚡ Procedure: Standard
⏳ Decision received: 11th working day

I did not receive any email requesting additional documents, a delay email, an interview/credibility interview email, or anything else during the process.

The only communication I received was: An email from VFS on the day I submitted my biometrics. The next email I received was my successful visa decision on 19 August.

So, if you’re currently waiting, please try to stay calm and be patient. I completely understand how stressful the waiting period can be, especially when you see other people receiving their decisions before you.

I’m sharing my timeline hoping it can give at least some reassurance to those who are currently anxious and constantly checking their inbox. Your decision might just be around the corner. 🤞

Submitted my biometrics back on July 17th in Hyderabad. Got delay mail on August 4th and after that no response. Did paid enquires but got standard reply. Waiting is killing. Not sure if escalation will be of any help. Any one is similar situation or had any success after escalation. Thx

Biometrics on 27th July (standard)

Received additional docs required mail regarding proof of funds transferred from my parent on 13th August(submitted on the same day) and a delay/unable to decide within publishing time mail on 17th August(15th working day)

Got the visa successful mail today- 19th August

Hello, I am an American citizen born here, and studied in the UK last year on a student visa.

This year I applied for my student visa for the next 2 years on July 8th, and did my biometrics on July 23rd. It is now August 19th meaning it has been 19 working days since the biometrics submission, and I haven’t been given a decision nor an email telling me it will be later than usual.

Last year I received my visa approval decision actually in 19 working days, and even got an email noting it would take longer than usual after 15 working days which hasn’t happened this year as I said.

I’d also like to note that UKVI sent me an email on August 14th asking me to take a survey on my experience, don’t know if that connects to anything or means anything.

Very worried, if anyone is experiencing similar or knows what could be going on PLEASE lmk. 😁

Update/Communication: Received no email, no update, no request to upload any additional documents, nor to attend an interview.

Hello everyone! Reddit has honestly helped me get through the anxiety of waiting for a visa decision, so I thought I’d make my first post and see if anyone is in the same boat.

I’m asking on behalf of my sister, did anyone submit their biometrics for a UK Student Visa on 6 August 2026? If so, where did you do them, and have you received any updates yet?

A little backstory: this is our second time applying for a UK visa for my sister. The first time, we applied using Priority because we were hoping for a quick decision. However, they contacted us twice (both times on a Friday) requesting additional documents, which we provided. After that, there was radio silence until around two days before her school’s final resumption date, when they invited her for an interview.

Unfortunately, we had to decline the interview because there was no realistic way for her to attend the interview and receive a decision within one day, and the school was already asking her to withdraw. So, we ended up withdrawing the application.
This time, we’ve reapplied and made sure to take into account all the additional documents they requested previously. She completed her biometrics on 06/08/26, and now we’re just trusting God for a positive decision🙏🏾

So, my questions are:
Who else did their biometrics on 6 August? Where did you submit them, and have you received any update yet?

Given that she was previously invited for an interview, is it likely she could be invited again? If so, any tips on preparing for it?

And finally… how do you cope with the anxiety of waiting?! 😂 I’m literally just waiting for that message from my sister, and it’s driving me nuts.

9th week of waiting approaching. I’m mentally exhausted.

So I did a paid inquiry just a minute ago. When I was asked for additional docs I forgot to put my reference number on the subject line so I just put inquiry regarding that. I m just wondering how fast can I get the answer from them for the inquiry

Got a mail today asking for additional documents, basically educational documents. Submitted them in 5 mins.
Does anyone know how much I have to wait now 😭

Got the email saying that my student visa has been approved. 8 working days, NYC vfs location. Timelines seem to be so random so to everyone waiting: good luck and I hope you receive the email soon!

I applied for my UK Student Visa from India under the Standard service and completed my biometrics on 17 July.

I received an NSF/delay email from UKVI on 4 August, and I'm still waiting for a decision.

Is anyone from India who applied between 13–17 July (or around mid-July) still waiting for their decision?

If you have received your decision, could you please share?

It's been more than a month since my biometric appointment on 17 jul. I got the delay mail on 7 Aug.

I'm pretty worried. Should I do a paid enquiry or wait this week.

i did my biometrics august 5 in canada. been 2 weeks now. is it better in my case to not have received a delayed email? i feel like i should have got one by now. really dreading this wait😭

Hi, just got my visa approval yesterday! here’s timeline

VFS Location: Seoul
Application type: standard
Application submission: 8th Aug
Biometrics : 12th Aug
Visa approval : 18th Aug

I know my visa was granted super fast, especially for standard applications, but the whole week felt so long like few months. At the same time, i was shocked my application took less than a week, despite of standard applications. Anyway, I’m so happy I got my chance to study in UK!!
I hope everyone in this sub gets the approval email soon and able to study in UK ( you guys almost get there)
