How to determine what plugins were purchased in a bundle?

This is a long-standing annoyance, but essentially, you order plugins in a bundle and the only thing that shows on the receipt/invoice is the name of the bundle.

You can find some of the dates from iLok Manager, but that appears to be only native plugins. The plugin list under the account section is literally a useless paginated list of plugins with no functionality (I miss the old one that was a single page, but can't remember if that gave more details).

As plugins are preinstalled, you can't search for files that were installed in plugin folders, but there might be a local manifest that tracks activations.

I keep a spreadsheet of the orders, so I'm just trying to fill that out, but I'm not completely sure which ones I bought (52 total) and which were with what bundle.

It's not a major issue, just an annoyance as I would expect this information to be available somewhere in the account section.

Issue with UA website causing page refreshing continuously

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Visit https://www.uaudio.com/collections/uad-plugins
  2. F12 to open the development tools, select the Network tab
  3. Click on AMS DMX Digital Delay & Pitch Shifter from the plugin page

Looking at the developer tools Network tab, you will see an endless stream of the same requests being made, generating thousands of requests in less than a minute and quickly absorbing MB of storage. As I'm typing this, it's now over 1 GB and 3700 requests.

Went I closed the tab, it was using 3.2 GB of memory and had about 30,000 requests.

Looking at the browser history via holding down on the back button, it shows that the page is reloading itself constantly, making it essentially to impossible to use the back arrow to navigate back to the plugins page.

If the tab is left open, it will consume all of your system resources and crash the browser tab and potentially the browser or other programs.

I checked both with and without any blocking and it was the same result.

Regardless, their Google analytics are going to be nuked by thousands of hits per minute for anyone viewing the plugin product info pages.

Note, this is only and issue for some pages. There are some plugin product pages that do not have this issue, and I believe they are the ones without YouTube videos and extra content beyond just a few photos and text.

Use Monitor Output Gain Bypass Button!

You all may already know about this, but I just discovered that there's a "Monitor Output Gain" button in Settings on UAD Console. I use an Apollo 16 interface. When I switched it to "Bypass", I heard a clicking sound from the unit indicating that it is physically bypassing the digital gain section. And, not to be the person searching for minute differences in things, but seriously it sounds way better without it... In particular, to me, it seems like the highs and lows are coming through way more clearly. I advise you to test for yourself - set the output gain volume to max so that, theoretically, it should be the same bypassed and on. Then A/B it purely bypassed. To my ears, with my system, it's really helping!

Of course, this is dependent on you having a secondary gain adjustment option. I go from the Apollo to a monitor controller, which has a gain knob, then to active speakers, which also have built-in gain knobs. For me it seems much better to bypass the UAD digital gain section and just reduce the volume using the speakers' built-in gain knob. Just wanted to let people know! Forgive me if this has already been covered.

Are we getting more native plugins any time soon?

It's been a while, iirc. I don't see what the holdup would be.

I'm particularly interested in all their neve stuff. So far only the 1073 has a native version.

Shannon - Let the Music Play Polymax edition inc drums

Heard it on an insta reel… oh I have to try that. Everything is Polymax. Used a little bit of ott for first time in years… is that bad lol Polymax does some great Jupiter 8 style brass. Build some retro effects.. based on the classic ones that used to cost thousands and thousands for a rack. Added to my Polymax drum kits. A lot of guess work and there is a lot going on but got the basis of it all and a similar sound. A bit of redux, eq, a few pultech style Eqing adjustments. Just need Shannon to come to the studio now.. I mean sing into my laptop.

No complaints: $149 for 12 plugins!

I'm moaned a bunch of times about some things, but this is the first time I've seen such low prices on the plugins that it actually hoping things are okay with UA. Is everything okay?

Basically, a month ago I was pointing out that getting the third-party plugins from their respective sources made sense over getting versions that are locked to UAD hardware.

So I did just that. Spent about $185 on getting about 13 plugins on PluginAlliance, 12 of which were also offered by UA and locked to UAD hardware.

Well, when I checked the latest on UA plugins, I saw that the custom bundles were slashed in half AND had double the plugins.

At these prices, the 6 + 6 Custom Bundle is $12.42 per plugin, and the 10 + 10 Custom Bundle is $12.45 per plugin (slightly higher).

I went for the 10 + 10 and wound up buying most of the very same UAD plugins that I recently bought from PA because it's so cheap and it's nice to have alternates.

I guess I'll make a second pass and get all the amp sims and other plugins I don't need but would be nice to have.

Thanks UA!

Can I delete this folder ?

Hello, I have 26 native UAD plugins (licenses managed via iLok), and I use Cubase 13 Pro on Windows 11.

I noticed a large folder at this location: `Program Files` > `Common Files` > `Universal Audio` > `Plug-ins`.

Inside this folder, there are 26 subfolders with names like `uaaudio_manley_preamp.lunacomponent`. All 26 folders are stamped .lunacomponent.

Since I work exclusively in Cubase and don't use Luna, can I delete this large 1.65 GB folder without causing issues with plugin connection, activation, or operation?

Thank you for your time and your knowledge.

Side chain compression debate…

Hello

I have both the Capitol mastering compressor , and the API 2500 compressor. Both have sidechain option.

I want to use them to free up the space for the vocal. Given that I’m not looking for too much coloring on that slot (I do have another compressor on instrumentals bus that gives me the color I like) is there anyone of these two you would prefer to just mildly attenuate the whole instrumental bus in reaction to vocal track?

*** I know everyone today is hyping the Sooth / multiband for that particular purpose. I want to try it with plugins I already have.

How to create a certain delay effect I’ve been unable to achieve for years?

Hello everyone. I have tried to figure this out myself but have never really quite been able to get it. The effect can be heard on the 3rd repeat of the hook between :30-:33secs in. I’ve heard this on a handful of records throughout the years but have nvr been able to find a name or process for it. My best guess is it’s something that can be achieved using a multi-tap delay.

Spitfire Audio instruments | Luna Pro bundle

Hi everybody, I want to know if the Spitfire Audio instruments are only Luna plugins or will they work in Ableton?

I only use Luna for tracking vocals, haven't really tried producing on it.

Luna Pro MK2 sale

Plugin Boutique has Luna Pro MK2 for $25!!. It comes with a ton of plugins to boot. I don't even use Luna, but for this price and the plugins that come with it, It's insane not to do it.

Edit: As of today, It's now $79. I have an account with Plugin Boutique, so I get their emails and was able to jump on it yesterday. $79 is still 60% off. So, still a good deal.

How Universal Audio Handles Your Data & Privacy

Hey all!!

This has come up a few times here on Reddit (and other forums) recently, with tons of false info and misinformation being spread.

Previously, the real deal info was only kept here and contained a lot of legal language. https://www.uaudio.com/pages/legal-documents

So we decided to get a doc together that had all the "big questions" answered, all in one place, and in plain language. https://help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/50620306586516-How-Universal-Audio-Handles-Your-Data-Privacy-FAQ

There's also a new "Share Analytics" toggle in UA Connect's Account section.

My role is focused on the products, what's cool about them, and why you'd want to use them, but I did want to get this info out there since I know how important these issues are for users.

Feel free to share your thoughts directly with the team via UA Connect's Feedback mechanism.

Are my expectations too high?

A few months ago I started to have some gremlin like issues on Channel 3 of my 4-710D. So I thought I'd just send it to their lab, and pay whatever is needed to have it fully inspected and repaired. Given that this device was traveling with me all over the world, I thought it's a good opportunity to have it cleaned, inspected, repaired and generally speaking - reset.

It was a challenge to just figure out how to open a ticket (thank you Reddit community for solving this problem for me!)

I've opened a ticket explaining very simply exactly what I explained here.

Few days later I get a long email with instructions of how to inspect and fix it myself.

I replied that I'd be happy if UA's ppl would do that. And since then I'm in back and forth emails of them asking me to do this and that inspection, and get back with the result. It's pretty exhausting and mostly time consuming, so instead of just shipping it and have it fixed, I'm stuck for weeks with a faulty machine and an endless emails.

I'm starting to doubt myself - is it too much to just ask for an inspection and repair service? Isn't it the most normal thing when dealing with high end products?

e1x - Configuration Persistence & Current State

I just picked up an e1x after my pre-amp failed on me, needed something quick, and already had Dante in my system.

After figuring out kernel extension BS (why isn't there a DriverKit implementation in 2026?) I was able to get UA Connect & UAD Console setup. But now I'm running into some issues with the GUI in UAD Console, and configuration persistence of the e1x itself.

Every time I open UAD Console the e1x reports as 10dB, despite me setting it to 24dB. Is there really no way to view the current state of the e1x?

Apple M2 Tahoe 26.3 - Twin X driver Install - 8 hours later...

Update 2: Still no joy. Here is everything I've tried:

-Multiple legit, real, TB4 cables.
-Hardware resets of the apollo
-Manually white listing 4KAC9AX6CG in registry in recovery terminal per another reddit users success
-Recovery Terminal commands:
--kmutil trigger-panic-medic --volume-root "/Volumes/Macintosh HD"
Force kext reset:
--sudo kmutil load -p /Library/Extensions/UAD2System.kext

It shows up on System Information as a thunderbolt device, connected at 40Gbps. It is there, visible and connected. But yet "Connect UA Device" is all I've seen.

Guys, I'm really trying but this seems out of bounds. I had a conference call with two dudes from Universal Audio and even though they were super helpful and tried, their only solution after seeing everything via screen share was "try a different cable which I did.”

I'd say this thing was bricked if it wasn't literally visible in system info as a device. What's next here?

Update: Credit where it's due, Drew from UA just spent a bunch of time trouble shooting with me. Still no joy but definitely have a few possible solves left. Gain try a different TB cable which I'll have to go buy, and if that isn't it, it's likely a hardware defect and I'll be going back to GC anyway. Thanks again Drew. Likely that I beat my head against a wall trying to fix the drivers when looks like that isn't the root cause.

This is insanely frustrating and I'm about to return this thing... I've tried literally everything on the install guide multiple times, which is absurd that any of that is necessary at all, and even some terminal commands from some random post that said it helped to get the kernel extension to work. Am I doing something stupid or is it actually this cumbersome. Sunk cost may be getting the best of me and I'm about to give up but I keep hearing this thing is the best audio interface ever so here we are beating my head against the wall.

Basic facts:

Apollo Twin X, macOS Tahoe 26.3, M2 MacBook Air. Kernel extension not installing. systemextensionsctl list returns 0 extensions. Recovery Mode completed, Reduced Security set, Allow user management of kernel extensions enabled. Malwarebytes removed. Clean install of iLok and UAD software attempted multiple times. Hardware appears in System Information at 40Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 but Console shows Connect UA Device. UAD Meter & Control Panel not appearing in Privacy & Security Microphone list after install. No Allow button appearing in Privacy & Security Security section after install.

Edit to add I just did the whole thing again after full uninstall of everything with app cleaner and installed again in safe mode and still no joy, but now back to pace error banner in UA Connect which I thought I’d licked with the iLOK forced spyware nonsense. How is it possible this thing is so cumbersome to get working?

Question about the inputs on an Apollo 8

I’ve got an Apollo 8 and I have what I hope is a simple question about the inputs.

I want to plug my guitar into my UAFX Dream 65 pedal, then plug the pedal into the interface.

Should I be using the Hi-Z inputs, inputs 1-4, or inputs 5-8 for an electric guitar that is running through pedals and a UAFX Dream pedal?

Thanks!

Has anyone successfully installed Twin X Quad Gen 2 in Tahoe 26.3?

Just a follow up on my days long frustration here but I can't get the kext extension to post and persist regardless of any relaxed csrutil settings and I'm becoming increasingly skeptical that this is possible in 26.3. It seems possible that it allows the kext db from a Sequoia install to persist when an update to Tahoe is performed, but I'm curious if anyone has successfully installed and connected a twin X to a computer in 26.3.

For the record:
-TB4 cable for sure (tried multiple)
-system info shows the device connected via TB at 40Gbps - not a hardware problem.
-UAD Meter said "Connect UA Device" indicating permission is granted, but invisible to UA software
-I have gotten the "allow" button in Priv and Sec multiple times through multiple instals and panic-medics and UAD Meter seems to be "happy" but not seeing the device.
-I have relaxed security boot settings in recovery disk startup and through terminal directly with the nuclear csrutil disable command.

My thought is that Tahoe is stripping the kext from the queue on restart, putting it in this doom loop of enabling the extension, doing a restart to secure it during boot, and then on reboot its security feature is stripping it before it can post in the kext database. Anyway, I'm over my skis at this point but trying everything I can before I give up on this and go back to an interface with native processing with a different interface.

I just really want this to work. Hopefully someone has an answer.

UAD 100% processor issue

I'm creating this post to see if other people have the same issue or know how to fix it. Very often I find my MacBook Air M5 (brand new) overheating, when I check the activity monitor I see it's always because either UAD Meter & Control Panel or Console is using 100% of one core constantly. I believe it's a bug and have been in touch with customer service for few weeks but no help until now. Does someone else experience it or have a fix ? I already read about this issue a few times online. I'm a bit disappointed regarding the fact I spent more than 4000$ in UAD hardware and plugins, I would sell everything if I didn't already spent so much.
Thanks for your help, best.
