My 2 Cents on Hollywood Arts

My 2 Cents on Hollywood Arts

People are questioning why HA feels younger and more childish than the OG show and I feel like the reason is obvious: Victorious is a product of its time.

And I don’t (just) mean in terms of a few inappropriate jokes aging poorly (although that’s definitely apart of it- Dan’s whole, erm, presence adds a lot of baggage to the show’s mature vibe. Nickelodeon is probably overcompensating and trying to make the new show more PG). I also mean in terms of style and environment too.

The characters aren’t gonna be wearing black bandage dresses like Jade or stilletos like Cat (who, as we often say, her Pre-lobotomy self‘s aesthetic was very reminiscent of the pop-punk culture at the time). Because unfortunately that’s not the style anymore.

I will say that I hope this show adopts the deep character dynamics from the OG show. It gave us one of the biggest love triangles of our childhood (Tori/Beck/Jade) and the rare love triangle where someone ended up choosing themself (Tori) over a relationship.

Additionally, I am a bit confused on who exactly the target audience is for? Gen Z still buzzes about Victorious everyday, I see a viral post about it every week. It’s basically become our generation’s That 70s Show. But I dont think this revival is for Gen Alpha either? Because they already grew up with the OG show (and no, Gen Alpha is not old enough to have kids, idk why people are saying that) whether it was through reruns or the great Victorious renaissance on Netflix in 2019.

Due to social media Gen Alpha is maturing at a quicker rate and thus they have a lower tolerance for Nickelodeon humor than we did at that age. And taking a peak at the characters Alpha is enamored by (Rodrick Heffley, Regina George, Raquelle, Jade and Cat themselves) will the HA characters stand a chance?

I wish the reboot was focused on Trina at HA abbott elementary style

It could be her day to day life as a sub and relationship with the other teachers + sikowitz, similar to abbott elementary, this is a way for the show to grow with its audience while still keeping the kids around

Edit: revival*

Edit Edit: spinoff*

In the Hollywood Arts trailer they said Tori Vega is a famous pop star?

Can we talk about Cat (in victorious and Sam and cat universe)

Do you guys think cat is still a baby sitter after the events of Sam & Cat or is she still in jail? Because she was arrested in the final episode of Sam & Cat and that was the last time we seen her and we was told in the iCarly reboot that Sam was off with a biker gang what do u guys think

The trailer is out and I have to talk about it!

I've seen the trailer at least 4 times and I have to say I can't wait to see this reboot! I've seen a lot of people say that it won't be up to the original, others say that it was useless to make a sequel and I saw comments so insane that I wondered if it wasn't a joke. Personally I believe in advance that I will love it and I even shed a tear during the first viewing of the trailer because there is a scene where her students said of Trina "she is awesome" and Trina looked sincerely moved, another scene where we see one of the students cuddled her and look like she needs Trina to succeed and it makes me so happy to finally see people who love Trina because the poor thing she deserves to be loved because she is SHEcago!!!

What do you think made Jade not be so rude to Andre compared to everyone else? Before you say that Andre is Beck's best friend, Beck's pretty kind to Robbie as well and Jade basically shreds him apart every chance she can.

One Of The Old Characters Will Get An Arc in The Revival

Basically, Daniella said one of the original characters from Victorious will get a satisfying arc in season one of Hollywood Arts.

My question is who do you think this is?

Please no spoilers if you know something, work for the show, etc. This is just for discussion. I want to actually ENJOY the show. If you know who visited the set or have photos from the set, I don't care. I don't want to know.

My theory is that it's Andre. Maybe he's lost his way and doesn't believe in himself anymore? I'm not really sure who else could have an arc? I don't really think there's more to unpack with Beck or Robbie unless they add more to their characters. I imagine Ariana would be too busy to return for multiple episodes but I could be wrong. Jade also works. Maybe she could have an arc where she becomes nicer.

I hope that Tori Vega isn’t disrespected and look down on throughout the series

The new Netflix Hollywood Arts show need to do something that will set the show apart from Victorious. There are a few positives in the show to make the show different like the musical numbers, production, etc, but I’m worried that people will look down upon trini throughout the series when the original show already did that. And the OG show proved that Trina is a good character on her own.

She is just as talented as the original core characters from victorious, and Daniella Monet has earned her spot in this series if that makes sense.

Why is Hollywood arts getting 3 different release dates? First Netflix, then Nickelodeon, then paramount plus

Is this something they're doing to get as many views as possible to avoid cancellation or? I'm honestly surprised this wasn't just a paramount plus show I don't know why Netflix is even involved at all... just seems random

Who do y’all think will guest star in Hollywood arts?

Really looking forward to the show! Hope we’ll see familiar faces.
(Except trina, sikowitz and Helen)

Netflix releases the trailer for the Victorious universe series "Hollywood Arts," which will arrive globally on Netflix on October 15.

The plot follows Trina Vega (Daniella Monet) as she returns to her former school as an unqualified substitute teacher, where she deals with a new generation of performing arts students.

Now that the Hollywood Arts trailer is out, how do you feel about the show compared to before you saw the trailer?

I originally had high hopes for the show to be honest, and now I’m even more hyped about it because the characters (not so confident about Emmy) seem more original than I expected. At least I hope so, since this is just the trailer, we’ll have to wait and see!

Also love that Sikowitz is back but I think it’s probably just a cameo, who knows🤷🏿

What about ya’ll?
