Found a pattern in a workbasket magazine. It references # in the pattern. The key says it represents “symbol” but I’m drawing a blank as to what I should do here. Thanks in advance!

Hello, it's impossible to start this project with a chain of 156 stitches...I don't understand??

However, here is a chain of 156 stitches with a size 1 crochet hook... I think there is a problem with the pattern. What do you think guys

Creating contemporary neckline with vintage tools

Shown is a matched tool set -- made of sterling silver -- The left one is an awl for poking holes for the first round; then the matching crochet hook takes over.

I have no idea how old the set is -- I've had it for 20 years. The awl is very charp.
