Day 3, 2, and 1 of progress on my bed canopy. Math says it’ll take 168 hours. 10 hours in 😂😭

It’s probably one of the most boring things I’ve ever forced myself to do for a craft but atm it takes about 15 minutes per square (time it took divided by squares done ).
If anyone has any 6 row repeat c2c lace I could add to add more interest that be cool af. I’m using this as motivation to try and do bobbin lace spiders properly 😂

But I’m up to about a foot on all sides in size

, what do we do to protect against N95 bands?

We have a Covid outbreak at work so it’ll be at least two weeks of n95 masks… which not only am I allergic to but they rip out my hair 😭
I work in culinary and it doesn’t seem to matter if I wear it under or over a hair net 😭
Last time I was able to wear a bonnet with a hair net over it but our new admin has banned them 😡

Hair up how I usually wear it and down as tax 💕

Favorite regency patterns in children’s/junior sizes? Kiddos wanna go as the Skylar sisters

They’ve asked for a chemise, stays, a dress, and Spencer 😂

I’m going to try and get the Hamilton Spencer pattern, and chemises are easy enough, should I just drape over the stays🤔 it’s been like 8 years since I’ve been in the world of regency sewing 😂😭 I used Nicole Rudolph’s video to drape it, and I was fighting for my life trying to drape on wiggly kids 😂😭

My child and nieces “I didn’t move your bobbins”

I don’t work on my bobbin lace constantly and it lives in my living room someone touched it (didn’t mess it up) and rearranged the bobbins 😂😭 my
Child, nieces, boyfriends, nor guests say they’ve moved it 😂 not mad about it just find it amusing because the bobbins determined that was a lie

V1 vs V2.

Version 1 vs version 2 I made it about 10-15% smaller, added another pair of bobbins to the edging to make it a better whole stitch and added an extra pair of bobbins to the silver in the fan laces In plain thread for sturdiness and am just doing whole stitches there. I also added picots at the tips of the fans for “oomph” I guess😅 it’s a mix of crochet thread, embroidery floss split apart and metallic sewing thread 💕

1/4th the cuff lace for the three pairs of cuffs and ruffs I’m working on 😭 just 11 more to go for cuffs 💕

Very new to bobbin lace and this project has revealed I need finer pins if I’m doing anything smaller than this for my own sanity. This is attempt 9 because my cats burnt toast and Ragu kept stealing my pins off my lace and I couldn’t get the fans to be fans 🤦🏻

2 questions how does one get a sturdier straight edge without messing up one’s tension? I’ve got 4 pairs of bobbins dedicated to that right now.
And is there a best method for connecting the pieces together? I have a round pillow but I’m out of the paper long enough to just transfer this to fit it for continuous lace but if that’s the best option for my sanity I can order the paper 😅
Face of one of the pin thief as tax Ragu and his emotions support dog Hercules. :)

After 8 attempts I’ve managed the fan 😂 tis ugly but it’ll do😂

I’m making cuffs and ruffs for my nieces and kiddo in their chemise and kirtles as they’re doing Tudor power puff girls

Ac quit working, ac tech booked out at least 6 weeks.

local ac guy is booked out for six effing weeks. So I’ve replaced the thermostat, checked the breakers, new air filter, checked the emergency off outside and reset it just incase, checked the breaker inside, turned off and on the thing on the inside (furnace?) where the air filter goes. Idk what else to try, and put in a new fuse into the furnace (?) so now I’m begging the internet for help 😭

Editing to add I’ve changed the air filter, the fuse on the part of my ac unit that’s inside the house, the thermostat, reset the breaker, located the drainage lines but not the ends idk where tf they end but it’s not outside I can find nor my basement, replaced the thermostat as it’s old enough to drink with the one pictured. The local hardware store is closed and I don’t own the the proper bit to open the ac outside but it’s got a weird cover over the capacitor that looks like it’s made out of speaker fabric. Before they
Closed I got the local hardware store to order a new capacitor just incase since it’ll take a few days to get here and I thought I owned the proper bit to get into it. So tomorrow lll be able to take the cover off the Capacitor outside and get pictures to show yall incase im missing something visually.
Thank yall so much for all the suggestions to try!

2 hours in and I realized I didn’t add a thicker edge so I can sew it in to my project. Is there a way to add one?

I work in LTC and am making a walked bag for one of my residents and want to sew this to the pocket flap of compartment on it for her. I didn’t think about the fact that I likely need a thicker edge in a whole stitch for both sturdiness and to not make life suck sewing it in. Can I add one after the fact? I’ve only done shapes that are one continuous piece 😅

▲ 20 r/Finches

A finch decided to nest on my roof and its baby fell. It’s 35 feet up nearly and thankfully the baby landed on the grass, I’m looking for a ladder I can use to try and get the baby back up there. And I’ve reached out to every wildlife rehabber I can find but they don’t take finches, or are 5+ hours away. I don’t want this wee baby to die😅 my kiddo and I are taking turns keeping it warm and we very carefully syringe fed it a mash of seeds boiled egg and water making sure to avoid its esophagus. It fell 8 hours ago and thus me being worried about it dying. We kept it outside in a shallow pot with paper till it got dark out in hopes its mama would show up and feed it, and we saw her plenty up on the roof but she didn’t show up on camera I set up to watch it while I worked on painting my house.

I’d appreciate any advice for “Chicken Nugget” as my kids named it
