Advice for work trip

Hi everyone,

I am going to be in Visalia for a couple days in September for a work trip and looking for some advice and thoughts.

I’ll be flying into Fresno Airport, and then picking up a rental car. I’ll drive from Fresno to Visalia, stay the night on a Tuesday, and then working in Visalia on Wednesday. I fly home on Thursday morning.

My current options are:

  1. Drive after work on Wednesday back to Fresno and stay the night there, for a short drive to the airport the next morning
  2. Stay the night in Visalia Wednesday, and then drive early Thursday morning back to Fresno airport.

How is the drive from Visalia to Fresno in the mornings in early September? Is there traffic? If I were to drive around 6-7am? My flight would be at 10am (international).

I’ll be travelling solo and get nervous travelling alone. I’ve heard Fresno can be quite unsafe in some areas, so wondering if option 2 is better so I can stay in a safer feeling place (Visalia). But not sure if it’s worth the tradeoff of driving to Fresno in the early morning Thursday before my flight.

If anyone also has recommendations on where to stay in both Visalia and Fresno (which areas, nice hotels), that would be greatly appreciated. With my work budget, the hotels would have to be ~$250 max per night.

Also, just out of curiosity, is there traffic from Fresno to Visalia in the afternoons?

I live in a large metropolitan city in Canada so I’m used to traffic, not so worried about the driving as I am feeling safe.

Thanks in advance!

Check cashing question

Hello everybody out there; I’m hoping someone can help me. My bf and his mom were on car insurance account together. Long story short they were cut a small check; about 50 bucks, less actually. Check was made out to the both of them. His name, the word and, and then her name. None have any bank accounts they deposit check to at the moment. What’s making this whole thing hard is she is old but mostly, for lack of a better word -very lazy. She will not leave the house to go to the bank to sign it in person. It was issued by Chase Bank. Does anyone know any place where he can cash it with just her endorsement on the back? Liquor store or grocery store or any check cashing please where they could cash it no problems and her not there. Any suggestions? Thanks. Please no rude comments. We’re not trying to scam her over for 45 dollars lol. If you knew this woman you’d know it’s hard to get her do

Stray Kitten - Help needed

Found stray kitten in Visalia — urgently looking for rescue/foster help

I found a young stray black kitten in my back yard in visalia, estimated to be around 9-11 weeks old. I’ve been keeping it safely contained and providing food and water, but I unfortunately cannot keep or foster it long-term. Its mother abandoned it and i believe its siblings are dead

I’ve already contacted multiple local shelters/rescues and so far everyone has told me they are full or unable to take it.

The kitten is very scared of people but has started making progress, it will now eat in front of me and even eats wet food from a spoon I hold through the cage. I believe it could become socialized with someone who has the time and experience.

It also appears to have some medical needs. I have seen worms in its stool, possible fleas, and it has an abnormal/raw area around its lower lip/chin that was present when I originally found it. It is still eating normally despite this.

I’m looking for a rescue, experienced foster, or someone connected with a local cat organization who can help get this kitten veterinary care and into a safe foster/adoptive situation.

I am not asking someone to just take an unknown animal with no information,I can provide photos, everything I’ve observed.

Please comment or message me if you can help, know an experienced foster, or know of a rescue that may have space. Even a legitimate lead would be greatly appreciated.

Blast-Over Tattoo Artist

Does anyone have any recommendations for a Central Valley blast over artist? Fresno to Visalia area? I have a half sleeve I’m looking to cover but I’m not interested in a traditional cover up. I’m also not interested in laser.

I love a lot of the different styles of blast overs but haven’t had success at finding someone in the Central Valley who specializes in this type of work. I appreciate any help!

Lost Dog

Hello everyone, posting here to hopefully gain some traction. I haven’t had much luck on other platforms. My family dog went missing this morning around 8am, near Willis/Cameron in Visalia, CA. Her name is Delight, she’s a black & white piebald dachshund. Very sweet girl, however this is the first time anything has happened like this with her & our others. We are worried sick about her and just want her home. Please let me know if you have any info ❤️
