Where are my Vita games, Sony?

With all the hoopla about PlayStation discontinuing physical games in a few years, I decided to log in to my dormant PlayStation account. I haven’t used it since I sold my Vita years ago, but I did purchase several digital games from the PlayStation store. I’ve searched all over the app and website and can’t find proof that these games are attached to my account. I went digging through old emails and did find my receipts. I’ve seen several posts about your account being deleted after 3 years of no use, but my account is still accessible…just not my purchased games. What’s crazy is that it if I look at all my online accounts that I’ve made digital purchases from over the years, I can see all my purchased content. I checked Xbox, Steam, Nintendo, iTunes, etc. and none of those services have deleted the digital content I paid for.

WTF Sony? Where are my games?

Well, I had the craziest dream about my PS Vita 1000 during my nap…

In the dream I was at a friends house. Then I told them I needed to grab something out of my bag. Then, what I found was a burnt PS Vita 1000 system. 😫😭 I bursted into tears in my dream. Luckily I woke up with a sigh of relief. 😊

Has anyone had crazy dreams like this about your consoles? Let me know! 😎.

Thanks!

Weird digital purchases for Vita? (+ masterlist?)

Whenever digital storefronts go down I get curious about the bizarre ways you can download / save games through these broken storefronts. Even with the Vita's wonky store, you can still technically buy PS1 / PSP / Vita games and download them directly. But others have to be purchased on the PS3 and then downloaded from your transaction history ON the Vita (I know PS3 -> Vita transfers don't work anymore).

But even beyond that, I've found some strange examples, and was curious if others have as well? (for reference: I'm using the US store and a Vita model 1000)

BASIC EXAMPLES

Tomb Raider 3: [Vita Store?: Yes / PS3 Store?: Yes]

Listed as: [PSVita / PSP / PS3] on PS3 Store

  • Standard purchase, can get this anywhere.

Tekken 2: [Vita Store?: NO / PS3 Store?: Yes]

Listed as: [PSVita / PSP / PS3] on PS3 Store

  • This is how you can find most PS1/PSP games that don't show up on the Vita store, purchase on PS3 and then download through the Download List on your Vita

WEIRDER EXAMPLES

Um Jammer Lammy: [Vita Store?: NO / PS3 Store?: Yes]

Listed as: [PSP / PS3] on PS3 Store

  • This game is not labeled as a "PSVita" game in the store, but you CAN download it onto your Vita like the above examples.

Daxter: [Vita Store?: NO / PS3 Store?: Yes]

Listed as: [PSP] on PS3 Store

  • Similar to Um Jammer Lammy, not labeled as a "PSVita" game in the store, but you CAN download it onto your Vita like the above examples. (I did buy this in the Secret Agent Clank bundle fyi)

Silent Hill Origins: [Vita Store?: NO / PS3 Store?: Yes]

Listed as: [PSP] on PS3 Store

  • Exact same labels as Daxter, but can NOT be downloaded onto Vita through Store Download List. "Wipeout Pure" is another game like this.

Furthermore, is there a masterlist of PS1/PSP games that can currently (in 2026) be transferred to Vita? I know the wiki links the Cheapassgamer list, but I don't believe it's been updated as there are some errors on there.

  • Many games are crossed out, but currently work / Um Jammer Lammy listed as a "PS3 Transfer" when it can be downloaded through the Vita transaction history / etc.

Additionally, is there a complete list of PSP games that were released digitally? Wikipedia's list also has some errors:

  • Armored Core 3 Portable is not listed, even though it's discoverable on the PS3 store, and can be downloaded to your Vita

(apologies if the formatting is terrible I used oldreddit to type this)

PlayStation Vita / PS3 / PS4 Cross Buy Guide - a handy resource for the current times we are in

I’ve linked this website on some posts in the past but I realize it’s probably helpful to get this one out in the open for anyone that’s trying to get some last minute purchases done before store closure. Granted the website was last updated in 2024, however - as far as I’ve found the information is still extremely accurate. Some games may no longer be cross buy, just as a potential disclaimer, but I don’t know specifics off the top of my head. I guess if you find anything outdated please drop a comment to update us here.

The first reason this website is useful to me - it’s just nice to know what games still give me multiple versions for one price.

The second and bigger reason this website is useful to me - if a game is still cross buy with PS4, those games actually can still be bought on sale. As we know, PS3 and Vita stores haven’t done any sales since 2021 or so, so you’re staring down full price if you want to add anything to your personal PSN account. I’ve wishlisted some of these items on my PS4 and when they go 50-90% off on a sale, I scoop them up and bam, cheaper PS3/Vita games.

Anyway, happy gaming fellow PS players. Feel free to comment with any inaccuracies you find or what some of your favorites from this list are.

Vita with dead battery

After a few years I just dug up my PS Vita PCH-1003 and its charger, and after a few hours it does seemingly charge fully, however it only lasts about 20 seconds even connected to power, and I can't even set the time before it dies. My theory is that the battery is chemically dead, but I read somewhere that this might be a calibration issue and could be solved by unplugging and replugging the battery? I don't really have any hope for this, I've recharged it three times and the same thing happened all three. I'm hesitant to recharge it again because I don't want to agitate the Li-Ion battery and have to deal with a dead, swollen battery. I'm open to a battery replacement, given it seems very simple per the ifixit page, are the ifixit batteries good?

Need help finding an old friend- "storm-4570"

Hey everyone! So, when I was 13 years old, in 2017, I used to spend a lot of time in those PSN parties. There were several of those created by random guys that wanted to just hang out- people from all around the world. Some of them would turn on the microphone, but most would just text using the chat section of the party. School was pretty rough so I remember finding some peace in the Vita- from ages 12 to 13. So I meet this kid from somewhere in Portugal, who was around my age. He never told me his real name because he worried about his privacy, but I didn't care, and we conversed through texts. We used to text almost every single day, and we were very close– that was until he stopped texting me one day, on September 24th, 2017. I tried texting multiple users that I knew were his online friends, but no luck. Nobody had spoken to him in a long time. I kept sending him single line texts for the next several months in 2018 regularly, knowing he wouldn't see it but not giving up. It's obvious that he had lost access to his account, or his Vita. But I would imagine that he'd just log in using his phone or something (PSN messaging app was pretty popular back then). His last PSN activity seems to be on February 24th, 2018, but it just shows that he's now friends with another user, which I'm assuming is a case of them accepting his request. I'm attaching with this post a screenshot of our final conversation. I had been locked out of my account for several years and had just put the effort to log back in. Reading all these texts from the past is a surreal experience. If anyone knows this person, please let him know I've been looking for him. I know it's a long shot, but miracles do happen on the internet. And if it's you reading this, Storm, I kept trying to find you, buddy, for years. You weren't forgotten.

This is my receipt from over 14 years ago. I returned gravity rush and bought resistance burning skies, though in hindsight I wish I'd kept gravity rush because it's a much better game than burning skies.

Back Panel Replacement

I have a cosmic red vita 1000 and I unfortunately ended up dropping it on concrete, so there are some deep scratches on the back, to the point where the plastic underneath the paint is showing. I've looked everywhere but I can't seem to find anywhere that offers replacement back panels in red. If anyone knows where I can get one please let me know.

Replaced the screen on my Japanese Slim

Bought a Vita from Japan and the screen had some serious yellowing across the top (pic 1). Apparently this is common due to the humidity there. I’d never taken a Vita apart but it wasn’t too bad. I swapped a new screen on, cleaned all the components and buttons and popped a new higher capacity battery in for good measure. Absolutely love it, she’s a beaut!

Is the ps vita store already partially shut down?

I randomly pulled my vita out last week to download a few psone classics. I had parasite eve in my search history and bought it yesterday. After I bought it, I could no longer search for any games, at all. Is this a new development since the announcement?

Store closing but can't bring myself to buy anything?

When I got the email I fired up the PSN to see if I wanted to pull the trigger on the couple of titles that I had been considering. But then I looked at what they wanted for them, and I just couldn't bring myself to care to buy them.

The PSN Vita prices seem especially bad right now with the Steam Summer Sale going on and so many great titles going for literally just a couple of bucks.

Anyone got a list of MUST HAVE games that I should consider before the store closes for good? I already have:

  • Little Big Planet
  • Need For Speed Most Wanted
  • Wipeout 2048
  • Lego Jurassic World
  • Lumines: Electronic Symphony
  • Sine Mora
  • Persona 4 Golden
  • Lego Movie
  • Hot Shots Golf
  • Child of Light

If there's something y'all think is worth the full asking price of a game that's like 10 years old, let me know. I'm not a huge fan of FPS games in general.

Do you trust pre-owned memory cards?

I'm eyeing some 32GB memory cards on ebay. They're much cheaper than the ones I see on Amazon. I would like to upgrade from my 8GB card soon.

Suggestions on what to get before it closes?

Hey just asking real quick, now that we know the store will be closing soon any suggestions for what to grab from the online store before its gone permanently? Including any noteworthy dlc as well?

Mainly asking as I do own a good amount of jrpg games plus other genres but I do know there are sometimes important dlc's that people find necessary for the game.

Also looking for good vita games that can only be found on the shop

Digital only Vita Games Linked to Physical Collections

Since the digital store will be shutdown next year (sooner for certain places), I feel like it's important that we all come together and figure out what games and add-ons should be prioritized for collectors and preservation purposes. For instance, in my collection I've so far managed to get Sly Cooper 3 and the English version of Final Fantasy X-2 since those are only available on the Vita digitally. Unfortunately other items such as the add-ons for games like Borderlands 2 and Tales of Hearts R are no longer available digitally, as well as certain games like the Digimon Story and Danganronpa titles.

I feel like now is the time for us all to come together and create a list of digital only titles that are a must for anyone with a Vita, whether they be casual gamers, preservationists or collectors. This should realistically include localized versions of games that never saw a physical release in a particular region (such as the aforementioned English version of Final Fantasy X-2 being digital only despite getting a physical Japanese-only release). It would also include any games still available digitally whose physical games are damn near impossible to get.

Here's my list so far:

Final Fantasy X-2

Sly Cooper 3

I have Ridge Racers cartridge, can I buy the gold pass on SP store?

Basically, I tried and I do not see the new tracks nor the new cars. When I tapped the button to start Ridge Racers it told me to insert a cartridge that had the game installed - the cartridge was already inserted. A bit of fiddling around and the game starts but I do not see any of the gold pass cars or tracks. So my question is, is the gold pass compatible with the cartridge version?

Potential Fix: “Ghost Touches” or "No Touch" on Replacement OLED Screens | PS Vita 1000

I may have found a possible workaround for the ghost touch / no-touch issue on some replacement OLED screen assemblies for the PS Vita 1000.

The issue:
Some aftermarket replacement screens can show phantom touches, random ghost inputs, become unresponsive, or freeze after waking from sleep while the system is charging.

What I found:
In my testing, the issue seems to go away if I disconnect one of the two Wi-Fi antennas from the rear housing.

Current theory:
The aftermarket touchscreen controller seems to be unusually sensitive to EMI/interference when both wifi antennas are connected, and the system is plugged in and charging. With only one antenna connected (doesn't matter if you remove the left or right), the ghosting appears to stop.

Important notes:

  • This is only based on my own testing so far.
  • I have not noticed any major wifi signal loss with one antenna disconnected, but more testing is needed.
  • This may not fix every replacement screen with touch issues.

If anyone else has one of these newer replacement Vita 1000 OLEDs, I’d be interested to know if you see the same behavior.

RIP Vita and PS3 Store

https://preview.redd.it/nzporse8iuah1.png?width=656&format=png&auto=webp&s=920a33d662d34f1ed4fc45657c0d944fc0135d20

Just received email from Playstation:

Hello NermorX,

Starting in July 2027, PlayStation®Store will no longer be available on PS3® and PS Vita in your region. From that moment on, you will no longer be able to purchase new products on PlayStation Store via those devices. We are implementing this change because, after nearly twenty years, PS3 and PS Vita are no longer compatible with the more modern shopping and payment options and security features of PlayStation Store. Please keep the following in mind: What you will no longer be able to do after the end date: • You will no longer be able to purchase new games, add-ons, or other content from PlayStation Store on your PS3 or PS Vita. What you can still do: • You can continue to play the content you already own, depending on the features and availability of the services per game. • For the time being, you can still download content you previously purchased. You can find more information about downloading content you previously bought via the links below.
