Fallout Anomaly is now Fallen World – Rebranded, Relaunched, and Rebuilt!

Hey everyone!

Author of Fallout Anomaly here. I saw some people were confused about where Anomaly went on Wabbajack, so I wanted to pop in and clear things up.

Why the Rebrand?

While Fallout Anomaly started out as a tribute to other survival games, the project has grown into something way more unique and ambitious. We chose the name Fallen World to better represent our own vision of a dark, tactical, and horror-infused Commonwealth that goes way beyond a simple overhaul.

Why Fallen World is Better:

  • S7 Leveling System: We completely removed the vanilla perk system. Your skills now improve naturally as you actually use them, making it a much deeper RPG experience thanks to S7 mod. <3
  • Technical Updates: This version features hundreds of bug fixes, performance optimizations, and script cleanups. It’s easily the most stable version of our work yet.
  • Custom Launcher: We have introduced our own launcher that helps you get the install process done within a couple minutes. It gives you real-time updates and GPU-specific configurations.
  • Refined Survival Horror: The medical systems (MAIM), ballistics, and enemy AI have been meticulously re-balanced so every encounter is a challenge. There is no bullet sponge. For you or NPCs.
  • Visual Fidelity: A total rework of the weather and lighting systems gives the game a much more cohesive, "grim-dark" atmosphere than before.

Give us another shot!

If you played Anomaly in the past and had issues, definitely give us a try again. Everything has been completely fixed up and streamlined. We are now making our own custom mods specifically for the list, and we managed to optimize the setup so our install size just dropped under 230GBs.

Thanks all!

JoJ vs HoH

I cant find images to compare. Tried JoJ really liked it except it felt a bit cartoony. Is HoH more mature, not sure how to say hit skyrimy looking? Or is it same list with just deleveled world?
Thanks

Mods similar to JoJ

Hi I really like armors and animations included in JoJ, but character and general visual looks worse that even Nordic Souls (much less mods). Characters skin and general colors look more dated than other big mods. Is there a modlist that looks Lorerim or Nordic Souls latest patch, but have NSFW. Or a way to change JoJ aesthetics without doing too much tinkering. Thanks.

Tldr: JoJ like mod with lorerim aesthetics.

Vanilla+ modlist that still plays and feels like Skyrim?

I am looking for a modlist that still feels like Skyrim. I've spent countless hours modding Skyrim myself in the past but now I'm just looking for a single click installation.

I have tried the big ones Nordic Souls PBR, NGVO, Immersive + Pure and non of them did it for me. NS and I+P just felt like too much and NGVO just didn't run great for some reason. All the other popular modlists turn it into an action RPG Souls Like and I'm not looking for that.

I want something that fixes the bugs, Visuals look a better, adds immersion and QOL changes. I want the gameplay and combat to remain at least mostly the same. I don't really want added content but if its not an insane amount I can live with it. Thanks!

Skyrim Wabbajack Modlist Comparisons

Greetings again! I'm back with more comparisons between Wabbajack modlists - this time in full spreadsheet form! I've completed a first pass at comparing the content of more than fifteen individual modlists for you to determine which one might be right for you.

Wabbajack Modlist Comparisons Spreadsheet

The three sheets (in the tabs at the bottom) are as follows:

  • General overhauls and performance information. This is the updated an elaborated version of my post from over a year ago which features information useful to those who want a general sense of play experience and whether it will run on your PC. See the post above for my hardware details.
  • Major Quest mods. This list focuses on quests which add substantial new content and full quests created by modders.
  • Major Follower mods. Fully featured (and mostly voiced) companions for your Skyrim adventures.

EDIT: This list is not comprehensive - either of mods or modlists. I'm getting to things as I go so do forgive any omissions. If you would like to help add to the list, reach out or comment below.

A few observations before diving into more about specifics.

  • Out of the lists I examined, Tuxborn and Lost Legacy have the most stuff added to the game. Tuxborn adheres more to Skyrim whereas Lost Legacy adds more fun and silly things.
  • Most modlists that make substantial changes to core Skyrim are very selective about what new content they add. Large filesizes are not directly indicative of more Quests.
  • Every modlist has substantial uniqueness, even within these limited criteria.

Quests

Note: I have not played all of these quest mods. I may shift some things on or off of this list based on my own experiences or your suggestions.

My criteria for counting a substantial quest mod is one that adds new content, requires the player to complete several stages of tasks, and yields some sort of reward or change. I've excluded mods which are direct extensions to vanilla quests for clarity's sake - though that could be another sheet. Whether they be new lands or integrated into the base game, the content has to be distinct from the original Skyrim.

On the second point, I excluded dialogue-centric quests as they tend to be simply things you do on your way to places rather than substantive content that you pursue. For that reason, I have not counted most of the quests created by nimwraith. While these are high quality and worth having, they aren't really ones that should determine what type of playthrough you want to partake in a modlist.

I've also not listed Legacy of the Dragonborn because that's so much more than just quests and it generally shapes the entire tenor of a modlist. I have thought about having another sheet that lists LotD integrations, but we'll see >!(if you want to help, I'd be much more inclined)!<.

Here's a few quest observations:

  • The most popular quest mod in the lists I examined is Wyrmstooth. This is a bit funny to me as someone who remembers a time it was totally deleted - though I've always loved it. Second place is VIGILANT.
  • Many lists have a particular focus with their quest selections. For example, Tuxborn adds most of the Dwemer-focused expansions whereas Alypne adds many of the Lovecraft-inspired quests by nimwraith.
  • Some quest mods which used to be must-installs like Falskaar and Helgen Reborn have fallen out of favor - while newer mods like Beyond Skyrim: Bruma and SIRENROOT have seen much more adoption.

Followers

Almost all of the follower mods I counted are fully featured, with voices (excluding the non-human ones) and generally some substantive content attached to them like quests. I did not include any follower-replacer mods.

Many companion mods straddle between being quest-centered and follower-centered. I generally decided to list them as followers, though it's a hard question. Is Interesting NPCs (3DNPC) a quest mod or a follower mod? What about There is No Umbra, or Wheel of Time? I will likely change their positions in the future or possibly overlap them in both categories.

Anyways, a few notes:

  • Auri steams ahead as the most popular follower mod in Wabbajack lists I tested. Remiel comes close behind. INIGO is surprisingly not as popular anymore.
  • If you plan to run with several followers, you will likely want to check this guide from the Gate to Sovngarde wiki. It doesn't have every interaction but it will greatly enhance your companion experience if you want something more like Baldur's Gate 3.
  • Depending on the type of control over followers you like to have, you should consult the modlist page for how their follower-integrations work. In my opinion, these are often more trouble than they're worth.

Hopefully this preliminary list will give you some ideas of which modlist you want to play next! If you have any corrections, notes, or anything else, please feel free to comment down below. I'm still gathering more data on modlists and if you even want to help, get in touch.

ISO WJ SSE/AE list with LotD, Requiem/Survival, harsh, dark, cold, realistic feel and near vanilla graphics, all for a long play through

To explain: I have more than 9k play time in vanilla and power fantasy styles. I want LoTD just for finally finishing all exhibits, not to sponge good equipment off it.
I do not want "cute" or "adult" but can live with just nudity. Realistic, not anime. Graphics should present Skyrim (at least the northern regions) as cold, unforgiving, harsh and deadly. Followers should be needed to survive, not for "Romance".
Planning to start as orphaned Khajiit Gal Merchant and see where Life shoves me from there.
I looked at Gate to Sovngarde but it seems to hang behind on WJ (No way I will ever do Vortex again) but also contemplating Skyground Chronicles, LoreRim and Librum.

I am familiar with modding using MO2, so adding or removing stuff isn't the problem.

Feel free to give your opinion on which list(s) would fit this. Throw all but the kitchen sink, please. And thanks in advance!

PS: I like to run nearly all Khajiit improvement mods, except for ja-Kha'Jay, and Kinggath's EEE and Bard Expansion, if that makes any difference.

is Lorerim finally safe to use?

Was interested in it but it seemed months ago that every week a new update came out that demanded a new save file including after the supposely "final save filling update" so I never bothered with it.

Havent heard of such updates in a while so I was curious if its finally safe to try it now

Top NSFW Modlist for Also Playing the Game?

For daily SFW gameplay and unique mechanics which NSFW list is best at going beyond just NSFW content for a long playthrough?

My priorities are unique and distinct Skyrim that does things in combat, gameplay mechanics, and questwise that distinguishes it uniquely from other lists.

I've gotten the NSFW modlists I'm interested in down to Diaries of Dibella, Merethic, and N.Y.A. I downloaded N.Y.A and its got some unique mods and a lot of the modern gameplay mechanics. I'm not a fan of some of the giant structures but it does make it unique.

I want to try out the others but unfortunately I'm limited on space and download speed , plus trying to download the others requires I delete N.Y.A so I'm asking for advice here first.

Has anyone tried DOD or Merethic as well and is either better at bringing unique content that gives a unique, polish feel to play outside of a NSFW context?

Legacy of the Dragonborn Question

Is there a modlist that is stable long enough for a playthrough that almost completes the museum? And also can be played to have saves reloaded in-game after dying?

Skyrim Modlist for a lone wanderers

Hi, I have been trying a few modlists, and all of them that I have tried seemed geared towards play with companions and followers in mind. But I have always preferred lone wandering and exploring. I have tried TOT, and since the first moment I had a follower thrown into my face since the first moment. So I am looking for another list, and I am eyeing Nordic Souls or Bottlerim, good for lone wanderer types?

My Biggest Gripes with Lorerim / Requiem (Need Help)

I’d like to start by saying I’m a Souls veteran, so I enjoy challenging games when the difficulty feels fair. In FromSoftware games, the level design, enemy placement, and encounters usually feel intentional. Even when the game is hard, it makes sense.

But with Lorerim/Requiem, that hasn’t really been my experience.

A lot of encounters feel less like careful combat and more like constant gank fights. Enemies are extremely aggressive, and it often turns into 10–20 enemies rushing you all at once. I was in a cave recently where several trolls sprinted at me at the same time, and it honestly started feeling more like Dynasty Warriors than grounded combat.

I’m not trying to hate on the modpack or burn it down it’s clearly just not for me.

I actually like the deleveled progression and hardcore aspects of Requiem. My main issue is the encounter design and enemy density. I prefer challenging combat with smarter enemy placement and more deliberate encounters, not nonstop swarms of hyper-aggressive enemies.

So I wanted to ask: are there any modpacks out there that keep the hardcore/deleveled feel, but with more thoughtful encounter design and fewer crowded gank fights?

PunkCity - A Wabbajack Modlist

Do you feel like Night City gets dull over time? Have you ever wished that every street vendor actually sells something rather than just existing and idling? Or maybe you wish that the world actually respects your reputation and street cred?

Check out PunkCity! A modlist that transforms the game to a more immersive experience. (Almost) Every part of the world is now interactive. Street Vendors actually sell food, and food is actually now a necessity. NPCs no longer stare at you from their cars as you aim your iron at them and boys in blue no longer send an infinite number of officers.

The quests actually feel meaningful and paced well, giving you real reason to do side quests and improve your Street Cred. The game now will not let you in (easily) to places that demands for reputation. Ripperdocs will now reject you if you're a nobody and are no longer general pharmacies as they now have specialties.

So much more changed in the world to fill the need for the niche immersive and hardcore experience, more details on install instructions on the GitHub page below

Experiences with LoreRim?

Title. I’ve been modding Skyrim for over a couple days now (been modding on and off for a decade but came back recently) and while I do love it, I think I’m burnt out and appear to be in an endless cycle of downloading mods, logging in Skyrim to fix the problem, playing for 5 minutes to see if something’s compatible or working, exit to figure out problem, fix load order, go back on, see if it’s fixed, then leave to get more mods and then repeat. It’s a tiring cycle and I realized that I won’t be satisfied, which is why I figured mod packs would suit me more better. One of the mod packs I found was LoreRim.

LoreRim has almost if not everything I’ve wanted in a mod pack with the exception of a couple of QoL improvements, niche armors from other games, and some companions and NPC replacers. While I can always consult the discord about compatibility, I wanted to ask you guys what your experience with LoreRim was/is if you played the mod pack? Is it worth the 600+ gb installation? What are the pros and cons? I know Requiem is on there and ik that’s a pretty divisive mod but LoreRim has made it a lot better both mechanically and thematically.

For someone who’s not new to modding Skyrim but trying a mod pack for the first time, is it worth?

Playing LoreRim below the Ultra Preset Requirements?

Title. So I plan on playing LoreRim as it offers so much that I want out of Skyrim. Literally, it’s got every mod I’ve ever wanted. I plan on buying a new SSD next month so I can actually play the game and be ready for 5.0.

Only one small thing.

I’m literally JUST under the requirements for the Ultra Preset as these are my specs

GPU: 3080 10gb

Ryzen 7 5800x

32gb of RAM

I plan on playing on 1440p.

The issue is that while I would be able to run the default preset just fine, the ultra preset requires a gpu with 12-16gb of VRAM or higher. But truly, would 2gb of VRAM make a difference?

I guess my question would be, how bad would the performance be with a gpu of 10gb instead of the minimum requirements? Does anyone play on the ultra preset w/o it? Furthermore, how different does the game look from default and ultra? Yes, I asked on the discord but I wanted to ask you guys too to see if you guys have any differences in performance. I know things like VRAMR and frame generation make a huge difference and maybe I’ll definitely need that for the ultra preset if I go that route but I’m just a little nervous that default looks a little bad than ultra because I’ve seen some videos on YouTube and there is a noticeable difference in quality. Then again, YouTube videos render differently.

Let me know your guys’ experience!

Nordic Souls is hands down the most stable modpack I have ever played

To be fair, the only other Skyrim modpack I've played is Apostasy, but I've played a lot of other modpacks for games like Fallout and Stalker and I have never had an experience as smooth as Nordic souls. 20 hours in, no stutters at all, no crashes yet and it looks great. The modders pulled some magic with this one.
