Delayed Paychecks Megathread

There was an announcement on the employee app about a delay in receiving our paychecks this week.

A few of my coworkers and I are usually paid by now, but we have not yet received our paychecks.

This post is for discussing the issue and sharing any insights.

Omelets

Question for the cooks out there. Do you guys still cook Omelets? I have only 1 Waffle House in the town I live in and they can’t seem to cook an omelette. I know it’s not on the new menu but it’s still a thing, right?

Grill ops grit tips and tricks

I’m working an upcoming 9-7. I’m aware of the directions on the back of the grit bag, however are there any anecdotal tips any of yall can give me? My biggest curiosity is how to balance making multiple pot of grits while having eggs and orders to cook. Also what should I keep in mind for fluffy grits that hold up through the next shifts. Much thanks for any help.

Original Waffle Irons Locations List

I think we should start a list of locations that are still using the original waffle irons. I'm not a fan of the new fluffier waffles. Who's got one?

AL, Madison #1956

GA, Kennesaw #981

MO, Wentzville #1368

MS, Hattiesburg #235

NC, Winston-Salem #1020

OK, Owasso #1597

Fireworks Waffle?

This "Fireworks Waffle" is not edible. I would have enjoyed it if it had strawberry and blueberry, even in a dry form (but preferably fresh). Wtf is this red and blue stuff on the top is made of? I tried a bit and my tongue is still burning.

getting off the EFR list

so i have gone through and i’m in the process of being taken off, manager put in request, ive called the legal and they said all im waiting on is a call back from the WH legal investigator. but my question is how long does that normally take? and if you’ve been taken off the EFR list, how long did that take?

update: they called today. i just worry and am impatient. it took about 3.5 business days. i also am rehirable. it was apparently a claim from the first time i ever worked with them at 16 even though i had worked there countless times after that. i even said that and she said “yeah i see that.” but all is good and im back on track lol.

This is redonkulous

I had to bring it out on 2 platters, eggs and toast on one and the hash browns on another, PLUS the T-bone, THIS IS FOR ONE PERSON, ate it all (except for 1 hash brown he took home) and left a $10 tip :) for those who aren’t servers and don’t know lingo this is SEVEN eggs sunny side up, toast, T-bone and 4 hash browns with onions and tomatoes in them. i think this is the largest order ive had for just 1 person.

Prebus station

Who has the new prebus station? We just got remodeled and they put one in. I saw a training video on it a while back but now I can’t find it. Who has one? What goes where? What do you put in the cabinets?

I’ve had it with fluffy waffles!

I’ve only found one WH that offers the old thin waffles. These fluffy ones are not it. I can’t be the only one who thinks this…

10% or 20% to Server on Delivery Orders?

I'm about to order delivery and on the checkout page in one spot it says that there's a 10% service fee that goes to the server and in another spot it says there's a 20% service fee that goes to the server. The charge is 20%. Does that full 20% actually go to the server or are they playing games? I saw some old old posts talking about a 10% to-go fee and 10% for the takeout containers, but this specifically says both 10% and 20% are going to the server. I don't mind paying it if it's actually going to the server but I don't like that they're lying about it in multiple spots (the 20% is on the subtotal page too) if half of it doesn't.

Does anyone else find it insane that WaHo doesn't sell waffle house sauce?

I genuinely cannot fathom why they don't sell it like chick fillet or zaxby's. I would always keep a bottle in my fridge if I could. People say it's just chipotle mayo but nothing else is as good. I swear they put crack in that shit.

Look at this monster to-go order that came in a few minutes after I ordered my food

That's all one order, not multiple small orders all coming in at the same time
