The special guest is my Sony ICF-C8WM dream machine alarm clock that my brother got me for my birthday. I’ve had the Walkman for almost a year now and got it for about 80 bucks. Has a 128gb miniSD card and I recently got the white leather case for the Walkman about a month ago from JPFans. I use aiaiai track headphones and overall I love my Walkman especially the SensMe Channels!
Got it for €33 from a really nice guy. The sound quality really surprised me, it’s not different at all from what I get on my modern phone. I will finally be able to not carry the new phone I have and only use my nokia from 2002 which I’m really happy about

If your Walkman came with a belt clip pouch. Just know if you use it all the time it could rub off the Walkman logo which I got to learn first hand. Had this wokman for 6 years after a few years of using it on bike rides and at the gym its pouch, caused part of the Walkman logo to rub away
I’m excited to get a Walkman as this’ll be my first mp3 player, I had a question about it also. How’s the sound for its age? I know it’s a bit counterintuitive as I already bought it but im still curious to others. Aside from downlong mrwalkman firmware what other hacks would you have for this model?
Opened this thing this morning , it was still sealed in the original packaging , got it for £60. Absolute mint condition with no scratches , however the battery has gone off after not being used for 20+ years , so when I charge it it says battery full after like 3 minutes and then it dies within 10 min of use, so I’m gonna have to replace that. Great player though I love it, updating firmware/putting on music is easy too if you know what you’re doing . The stock headphones it came with are so bad, they hurt my ears so much 😭
So I wanna buy a DAP that's got:
decent build quality.
decent battery life.
supports FLAC.
A battery that doesn't expand and bloat like Hiby and Fiio
Has expandable storage (micro sd storage)
And isn't app heavy
And will last me a couple of years at least..
Sony seems to be decent quality, but i have no idea what walkman to buy and what would suit my basic DAP needs..

$4.50CAN all in after a $2 off coupon. 1985 Sony WM F18/F28. I normally do buy these old Cassette WM because I’m not very good at repairing them. Well I popped 2AAs in the battery compartment and wiggled them around until I got power running on the radio then ran the play button. Motors ran exceptionally well and autoreverse worked so I took a chance. I cleaned the battery compartment out a bit more and sprayed some deoxit on the volume pot as it was a bit scratchy. I bought a cassette tape and the unit runs well. No need to change the belt (yet) or do any major repairs. The back of the Walkman has a previous owners name scratched into it, so Jason Macgregor, I have your old Walkman now.
