A couple of my old comics

A couple of my old comics

Years ago I gave a box of comics to a cousin. He recently passed away. These were in the box. I had totally forgotten.

Nothing beats a classic Joe Kubert cover

I’ve been digging through my collection and had to share this gem. There is just something about the raw emotion and intensity that Joe Kubert brought to his war comic covers.

Check out that contrast between the desperate soldier and the nun forced into the heat of battle is incredible. It perfectly captures that gritty, high-stakes storytelling that made these classic DC war titles so memorable.

Happy 250th Birthday USA

Happy 250th birthday to the United States of America. There’s no other country I’d rather live in. Thank you to all the men and women who have protected this great nation so that we may continue to live free.

All-Out War #1 (1979)

Now for something different. Here is All-Out War #1 from 1979 it’s only a six issue run before it comes to an end in 1980. Honestly as a kid I was never really impressed with this series but had friends who ate this stuff up. Now as an adult I have a different outlook on it and have all 6 issues. They are rather inexpensive to obtain.

Here is my DC-16 100 page super spectacular SGT. Rock. With great cover art. Honestly I don’t know what differentiates this 100 page Super Soectacular from the others in the Our Army at War series. If anyone knows please let me know.

BLITZKRIEG #1 (1976)

Here is issue #1 of Blitzkrieg a 5 issue run from DC on the war as seen through the eyes of the enemy. It was definitely an anti-war themed comic. Only 5 issues were done before it was cancelled.
