Our first Trench Crusade game – learning the rules required a suitably unreasonable battlefield

Our first Trench Crusade game yesterday!

This wasn't really a proper scenario yet — the goal was simply to test the rules, learn the basic mechanics and figure out what we were doing.

Of course, a simple test game obviously required trenches, burning ruins, crashed aircraft, religious propaganda, corpses… and three perfectly reasonable artillery pieces named Pater, Filius and Spiritus Sanctus.

We definitely got some rules wrong and spent a fair amount of time looking things up, but by the end things were already running much more smoothly.

Most importantly, we had a lot of fun — and now we're ready for a proper battle.

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Fire.
