This is a graph a friend of mine made about the number of Patriot Front WLGs that marched in DC vs the massive Klan march of 1926 in DC.

If the estimates on the PF membership are accurate, then it was almost all of them dressing and acting like the weird dorks that they are. My feelings on the level of dorkiness of Patriot Front members is that they are the dorkiest dorks in all of Dorkland. Dorks so dorky that other dorks find them repellent.

Anyone else bummed out Uwe Boll is a right wing weirdo

As a fan of hysterically bad movies, I've seen and enjoyed my fair share of Uwe Boll films and needless to say I was super sad when I saw this week's episode. Sidenote fun fact Anthony Bourdain has a cameo in Uwe Boll's adaptation of Far Cry in which he plays a scientist that's just there to get shot, there's an episode of No Reservations (or it could've been The Lay Over or Parts Unknown) that actually serves into the making of the scene Bourdain is in. That being said, at least it makes me enjoy the scene in Postal (Boll's only good movie) where Uwe Boll gets shot in the nuts. However I'm not giving this man any of my money anymore.

Consolation for Molly Re: "Louis Beam"

I know of one other person who pronounced Louis Beams name as "Lewey".

I think Molly would be delighted to know that persons name is Robert Evans.

Yes, in his part 4 of his series The War On Everyone, and in his episodes The Complete, Insane History of American Border Militias, he does pronounce Louis Beams name wrong. In the border militia episode, he even announces his name very proudly when he first appears in the story.

You're welcome.

I tried to explain the connection between elon musks weird tweets and the turner diaries and it’s such an unhinged thing to try and explain

like genuinely trying to explain it makes me sound like a crazy person and also makes me realize how batshit crazy this all sounds without hours of context. and even with context it doesn’t make much sense because neo nazi views are very much not rational

The mould thing

Disclaimer: I haven’t and won’t be watching the film.

The mould thing is Uwe Boll letting his German preoccupation with “Stoßlüften“ seep into his directing choices.

German apartments and buildings aren’t really built with natural air exchange, so you “replace” all the air by opening the windows wide for a few minutes several times a day. There’s a stereotype that foreigners don’t know to do this, because it’s not always necessary in our countries of origin. Likewise, there’s a stereotype that “lower class”, poorer or I guess in Uwe’s case, sex workers, who he probably considers “lower class”, don’t know or care to look after their apartments, and therefore don’t lüften. Landlords also like to blame any mould on poor lüften habits, even when the apartment clearly has some structural issues and needs renovation.

Anyway, that’s my theory on the mould thing. I’ve been in Germany a few years as a (white) foreigner, so feel reasonably confident in this conclusion, but any Germans please feel free to correct me if I’m off-base.

Edit: grammar

Uwe Boll is a cargo cult director

He doesn’t understand why directors use certain cinematic tropes.

He doesn’t grasp how to do exposition.

A coherent narrative is beyond him even when it’s linear, much less non-linear.

He takes all these ingredients because he thinks they look cool, and makes a jumbled mess, and says, “behold! A movie!”

How typical of a fascist.

Molly’s Epidemic this week

As a white immigrant myself (though unfortunately not at all rich) this week’s episode really hit home as an echo of many interactions I’ve had in my adopted country. Many many times I’ve heard people complain to me (an immigrant) about how immigrants are destroying the country, only to be assured that I don’t count, it’s not me they are taking about. It couldn’t be, because I am a white woman. It has never stopped being extremely disturbing to hear this line of thought dehumanizing other immigrants who happen to look different than I do while also making assumptions about my own experience that are categorically wrong (I must have money, I must never have needed to work, I must not have faced any of the difficulties all immigrants do). I am lucky and privileged in many ways that others are not, but thus racist and hateful discourse that people see no issue with saying to my face (because in their mind I must agree with them) makes me lose so much hope for humanity. I can’t imagine what it would be like in a place like the United States, because I know it is so much worse. Here, the implications of “not you” are left unsaid for the time being.

I need to see this "diploma" from West Point

First, I am a Navy veteran, but I wasn't an officer. Several of my cousins also enlisted in other branches, one even becoming a warrant officer and Apache pilot, but one cousin, Dan, went to the Naval Academy. This was several years ago, and it's a sample of one from a different academy, but I'm fairly certain he didn't get a diploma. I'm pretty sure he got a letter of commission as an ensign.

Point being, it would not surprise me if Boll was too lazy to Google what cadets were given upon graduation from West Point.

(And, yes, I called him "Lieutenant Dan" when he got his second bar. He hated it. 😁)

Real Vigilantes...

I grew up loving Batman and Superman and all the rest of it. Later on, I realized just how fanciful these characters are.

Firstly, how many billionaires are there? I don't know, at least thousands. How many Batmans are there? None. If there were good billionaires, billionaires would do good things. But most of them don't, and the ones that do, only a handful have ever given meaningful portions of their wealth.

Secondly, how many vigilantes are there? Like, people that do vigilante as a side gig, take it seriously, not talking about people who have, once, done violence against an individual or small group who was getting away with crime. "Good" vigilantism has happened, occasionally, but nobody makes a hobby of it.

But vigilantes who make a habit of it? Almost all of them are horrid people who do things like lynch black folk, shoot homeless children, or destroy aid meant for people crossing borders.

I would love to hear of one case of one real vigilante who during peace time did consistent meaningful good, instead of doing racist classist evil shit.

Uwe Boll's Rampage films .... extreme nihilism

For some reason I watched these movies several years ago when I went down an Uwe Boll rabbit hole. Obviously Citizen Vigilante is currently relevant, but I think these movies are probably more dangerous.

I'm a little rusty on them, but it's basically a disaffected young white man who goes on killing sprees railing against the elite, the wealthy, and overpopulation. There's crap about how it's fine to target innocent people to promote his empty ideology.

The first movie came out 2 years before Anders Brevik...I honestly would like to know if he saw it.
