As the title says, I found this in the Elora Gorge near the river. I believe it is a bird of prey. Google is telling me it’s an owl. I’m unsure. What do you guys think?
I found 3 bones. One is a skull with relatively huge eye sockets.
2. I found a vertebrae with a spine process and transverse spine process . and to be honest I am not sure what the 3rd big bone is. I believe it has some very tiny ribs attached to it still.
Free apps are telling me it is a duck or an otter, which doesn’t feel correct to me. Google said it is a northern saw-whet owl based on the skull being approx 3.5-4 cm across.
Thank you so much!!!
I was metal deceting old WWII trenches in local forest, found these at around 20cm deep
This thing was found in the forest in Poland. You can more or less see the scale. I have no idea if that's a fish, mammal, amphibian or someone just glued bones together (photo belongs to my friend, so I don't know much more about it)
Found these while clearing a rock pile at a home I recently purchased. Assuming they are cow, but posting just in case I'm wrong.
Found this apparently eyeless skull (which appears to have been munched on) walking my dogs in a local park today. To my knowledge there are no eyeless mammals in the Northern Virginia area. Roughly 2" x 3". Can anyone ID?
Obligatory banana for scale l.
found this on the shore of lake champlain in vermont. it seems to be a plate bone with about twenty rounded teeth of varying sized on top. they definitely feel like teeth. its not a fossil, it is a bone. does anyone have any ideas? i have never seen anything like it.
Just to start off I didn't touch them or anything, it was at the base of a super old yew tree in a church graveyard. I don't think all the white pieces are bones but a few definitely were. Ik they are quite fragmented so I'm not sure it's even identifiable, but I figured I'd ask here cuz tbh I'm just curious.
I know it’s a fish vertebrae I’m just no sure on the species
Found this looking for mushrooms
Hoping not someone's pet of some sort. Appears to be rabbit/cat sized
So, I‘m posting this for my parents who were gifted this lower jaw today. There are pine martens living in the neighbours house and my mom is kinda sure they dropped it.
For me, it lokls like a shark, but where should they have gotten a shark from?
My parents live in eastern germany in a rual area. :)
Found on a forest hike in the UK (southeast England), partner thinks it could just be tree bark but it feels similar to other bones I’ve found out and about.
I found this thing in shallow water in the ocean, near the beach on the Pacific side of Panama. It feels kinda dense and it’s a little yellowed. Can’t figure out if it’s a bone or a shell. Is it something cool?
Out fishing right now, found it in a river. Checking with you guys to see if i need to make a phone call.
