Forgive me if this isn't the right spot for this but l've been looking for this hotel for years and it's driving me insane lol. I'm sure it doesn't exist anymore, and I only have two photos of it from 1997. It was my first ever trip to Disney world and universal at 10 years old and being able to find this hotel or even old photos of it would be amazing

All I know is it was close to Race rock, and centrally located to Disney universal and sea world. We flew into Orlando airport with AirTran, so it likely wouldn’t have been far from there either. I believe we stayed here March 1997

My mom guesses it was a holiday inn express but she has no proof or receipts or anything and I don't even think the express hotels were around back then but maybe it is. l've attached the photos. If anyone happens to remember this place and can help me place it, It would make my day!

I’m making a documentary about searching for my roots, and I’m trying to identify the exact location where this photograph was taken so I can return to the same spot and film it from the same perspective.

I know this is a hard one, the skyline is so foggy but I though I should give it a try anyway.

Here’s what I know so far:

-The photograph was taken sometime between 1968 and 1970.

-Possible locations I’ve considered include a view from the Staten Island Ferry near The Battery, Morton Street Pier, the Lower Manhattan skyline from Governors Island, or a viewpoint from Staten Island or New Jersey.

-I’ve searched the New York Public Library’s digital archives, but I haven’t been able to find a photograph matching both the date and the location.

Any historical references, archival resources, research tools, or suggestions that could help me narrow down the location would be greatly appreciated!

My father took these pictures sometime in the early fifties. Unfortunately he passed in ‘06 and I came into possession of his slides without his context. He was in the navy when these were taken but I can’t pin down the exact channel. AI seems to think it’s either Chatham straight, Stephen’s passage or the BC channel. Can anyone identify the channel. I can only imagine how much it’s changed in seventy plus years.

Trying to figure out where this photo was taken. My clues are the potential bridge, the industrial building, and the awning. Does it say Svares?

The band was from Greensboro, so I want to assume they were taken there. Im mainly trying to find where the first photo was taken

As this subreddit was so helpful last time, I have another postcard I’d love to identify!

Where? Bordeaux, Gironde (stamp/postmark)
When? 1908
What is it? A shopfront possibly a small grocery store (épicerie) or perhaps a small butcher’s shop.

On the back of the postcard, the woman appears to be ordering chickens for her shop. Unfortunately, I can't decipher the signature/name, which might give us an important clue.

My hypotheses

• It doesn't seem to be a particularly luxurious or high-end shop, but rather a small local neighbourhood business.
• I would therefore tend to look within Bordeaux, rather than in the wealthier suburbs.
• My first areas to investigate would be:
  • Saint-Michel / Capucins (especially around the market)
  • Around Gare Saint-Jean
  • Nansouty, which was also a more working-class/residential area at the time.
• In the top right corner, I think I can make out part of a street number plaque. It might possibly end in a 9 or a 0, but I'm really not sure.

Can anyone recognize the shop, the street, the type of signage, or possibly decipher the name/signature on the postcard?
