How many of y'all got the contract of 6 months extended on what basis they do it for swe tutor roles.

Hi, if you already work as an AI Tutor, please let me know how it goes. I received my onboarding call invite and it says I am expected to work 9:00 to 5:30 Pm PT and my own time zone after the first week. During recruiting I was told I could work whenever as long as it was 40 hours a week, is this not the case ? I was hopping to work around my schedule.
