We want to take photos at a surfing event tomorrow... What would be the best time to surf, according to this surf map, for Huntington Beach tomorrow?

Hi fellow xxsurfers! I just moved to FL (central coast) from the PNW and am curious how cold the water actually gets in the winter. Glad I won’t need the 5/4 wetsuit anymore, but I understand the water does get chilly here in January/February. Will I need to downgrade to a 3/2, or can I get away with a 2mm long jane + a jacket?

My girlfriend and I from Europe are planning ~2 weeks in early/mid November and can't decide between:

• Sri Lanka (South Coast) – been there twice already, but we really liked it. Concern: November is the transition into the new season / potentially unstable weather.
• Thailand (Andaman Coast) – e.g. Phuket / Khao Lak. Been there once. How realistic is surfing in November?
• Dominican Republic – e.g. Cabarete / Puerto Plata. Been there once.

(But we were mostly there when the surf conditions were bad)

About us:

I'm a lower-intermediate. My girlfriend surfs much less, so the destination should also be great for non-surfing activities. We want warm weather/water, good food, nature/culture and a relaxed atmosphere, not a party trip. Around 2 weeks.

Which destination would you choose for this trip, and why? Or other recommendations? Especially interested in people's actual experience in early November, rather than just climate charts.
